Hotel Chesa Valese

Absolutely superb hotel. Perfectly situated in between the 2 main ski lifts. Great staff who all seemed very happy to be working at Chesa Valese. I had excellent communication with Melanie before we arrived which was very helpful. We were picked up on time from the train station and taken straight to the hotel to be met by charming staff and showed round the hotel. Chesa Valese only has about 25 rooms making it very personal. Everything was spotless and the rooms are tastefully decorated. ||We had the family room which was fine for us (2 adults and a 17 yr old). Plenty of storage space which was well designed. The ski room has lockable lockers which meant that the door to get in didn't require a key which was useful as finding your room key whilst holding skis is always a faff.||The newly refurbished spa area is wonderful and the sauna even has a TV with soothing images to help you cope with the heat!||Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and we came off the slopes to tea and cake. Could not have wished for more.||Cannot wait to return, thank you Chesa Valese for a wonderful holiday, hands down the best hotel I have ever stayed in in the Alps.

We stayed at Chesa Valese for 7 nights in December-January 2025. The location was perfect, close to the Zermatt center, restaurants and shops and 15 min walk to Sunnega ski lift. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment for us and our children. It was a great choice; comfortable beds, amazing views of the Matterhorn, quiet , well organized in terms of storage and closets. It was great to relax in the living area, have a tea after a day of skiing, or use the sauna downstairs. Great to have heated lockers for the skiing equipment, with easy access directly outside. The personnel were amazing, very friendly and helpful. Overall, it was an amazing experience.

Chesa Valese was absolutely incredible! From the moment we got there, the chalet staff were so welcoming and they really made our stay so unique. The attention to detail in the chalet was just so lovely and this entire stay was a totally different experience. I cannot thank them enough for their hospitality and on behalf of my fiancé! He proposed to me out there and due to the bad weather - the staff kindly helped him anything he requested in order to make it all happen. When arriving back after the proposal they offered us complimentary champagne and were beaming with happiness congratulating us. I cannot praise their kindness and hospitality enough - I already want to go back!!||The location of Chesa was perfect - everything is in walking distance and you also get brilliant views of the Matterhorn. The facilities were so clean and even the steam/sauna spa felt like you were elsewhere! I cannot recommend this place enough.

We really enjoyed our three nights at Chesa Valese! It is a beautiful hotel with a warm cozy atmosphere making you feel right at home! They have a beautiful garden and delicious breakfast every morning! The reception was very efficient, friendly and helpful in suggesting restaurants and hiking routes, etc. our room was very spacious with a balcony looking out over the town with an AMAZING view of the Matterhorn! The best views we had of the Matterhorn were from our room, first thing in the morning before it clouded up! The bathroom was well stocked with L’Occitane products for our indulgence. The hotel was centrally located to the area of town by the train station and shops and restaurants. Some hotels can be pretty far away from restaurants. We would definitely stay here again!

Good location, 10 minute walk to the station, 6 minutes to the main shopping area, 12 minutes to the glacier paradise gondolas. Rooms were amazing, we booked two Matterhorn view rooms and had a great view from both. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Breakfast was good, scrambled eggs/bacon were the hot offerings, and standard meat/cheese/pastries/yogurt offerings as well. They were very attentive and brought coffee to us (they had a tea bar as well). They picked us up from the station and dropped us off as well. But it is a nice easy 10 minute walk downhill to get to the hotel if you don’t have too much baggage. We did, so the shuttle helped. Really good hotel. It was worth the money to stay (was about 50-75 CHF more than some other options, but I didn’t feel cheated).

The location and rooms are excellent. Every one of the staff was exceptional. They were friendly, very responsive to our every request or need, helped us with activities and dinner locations. Could not be better!! The breakfast area is beautiful, the food was delicious , and the service was attentive.

We had a very enjoyable stay here! Our room was very nice—it had a balcony and a picture perfect view of the Matterhorn! The service was excellent, the food at the included breakfast was great and it was an easy walk to everywhere we wanted to go. It was very nice to have the transportation to and from the airport as well.

I stayed here with a friend for a ski holiday, and had such a wonderful stay. The staff are very sweet, welcoming and helpful and really made it a place I would wish to visit again.

Such a quaint little hotel right off of the main street in the village of zermatt. Rustic yet modern enough for today's little comforts. The staff here is beyond friendly and accommodating. I think it's a family owned business which is a total plus! They pick you up from the train station in a little electric car (only electric cars and horse drawn carriages in zermatt! Aka no pollution!!) The staff is always willing to help make your stay as comfortable as possible, and they are always genuinely nice. The rooms are decently sized. Most things you would expect like a tv, couch, closet, wardrobe, etc. just no fridge. Also a balcony! Only downside is that the bed is more of a cot and the "queen" bed is just two twins pushed together. Very springy and hard. They also have a spa downstairs. It's only open from 4-8 (but they will open it for you other times during the day if you just ask) and it has two individual hot tubs. They're more like jetted bathtubs but it is nice to have fresh water for every person. I haven't used the other amenities in the spa but they also have a tanning salon, steam room, and sauna. Breakfast is included and it is stellar! Breads, all kinds of jams and chutneys, sliced meats, smoked salmon, fruits, cheeses, cereal, and made to order egg dishes. Oh. My. Lord. The egg dishes are cooked to Perfection. Which at this altitude, is beyond impressive. Soft boiled egg and scrambled have been my fave so far. I loved my stay and if I'm ever back in Zermatt, this would be my hotel of choice
