We had an amazing stay at Hotel Chesa Valese. Our room was cosy, warm, and decorated in a charming alpine style. We had booked a Matterhorn-view room, and while the initial room’s view was partially blocked by a nearby building, Luna at the reception went above and beyond to help us. She kindly showed us other available Matterhorn-view rooms, and thanks to her, we were able to choose the perfect one.||The next morning, we witnessed a breathtaking sunrise over the Matterhorn right from our room—a truly unforgettable experience. The breakfast was excellent, and all the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I’m so glad we chose Chesa Valese and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Zermatt.

This hotel was amazing in so many ways. The view of the Matterhorn from our room was stunning. The whole hotel was beautifully decorated and so clean. They obviously take great pride in quality and presentation. Breakfast was outstanding. Reception was friendly and very helpful. The complimentary transfers to the station on arrival and departure were greatly appreciated. Thanks for a memorable stay!!

Hotel Chesa Valese was an absolute dream! Every corner is thoughtfully designed with charming details, making it feel warm and inviting. The owners and staff are incredibly welcoming and caring — it truly felt like a second home. The rooms are cozy, comfortable, and offer beautiful views. They provide free pickup and drop-off (since Zermatt is a car-free zone), and even help place your baggage in the room — a level of service we didn’t experience elsewhere in Switzerland. The toiletries were lovely, As a vegetarian Indian traveler, I was impressed with their breakfast. Though it’s a European spread, they had plenty of veg-friendly options like cereals, plant-based milk, overnight oats, homemade fruit jams, and chocolate spreads — perfect for making your own sandwich or bowl. They also have a lift, which made handling luggage super easy. Highly recommended!

We had a great stay here. There was a mix up with the pickup time, but the staff handled it well and were very helpful throughout our visit. We were given a spacious room with plenty of storage and even a partial view of the Matterhorn tip, which was a lovely bonus. The spa and sauna were excellent and well worth using after a long day out. The only real issue was with the plug sockets. All were Swiss three-pin, and strangely, my EU two-pin plugs didn’t fit even though they worked fine on the train. Reception quickly gave us two adapters, so it was sorted without fuss. Breakfast officially starts at 7:30am, which is a bit late, but they allowed us to eat at 7 when we had an early start, which we appreciated. WiFi didn’t work with my VPN, which was a bit of a let-down as I don’t like using open networks. Luckily I had mobile data, so it wasn’t a big problem. Overall, a comfortable stay with excellent service. Would definitely consider staying again.

Traditional charming building. Decor is warm and welcoming and tastefully done. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Service was of a consistently high standard. Breakfast superb. Great views of the Matterhorn! We were lucky to have found this place. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Wonderful hotel in center of town with an amazingly helpful and cheerful staff. Easy walk to anywhere in town and some rooms with Matterhorn views. We felt right at home from the moment we walked in. Do take advantage of the ride to from the train station offer by the Hotel. Breakfast was really very nice. We went the last week of May and the timing worked well for us. The weather was great and the tourism season had not yet started. This means some restaurants were not yet open, but there are plenty of options. Mountain biking was very scenic. Have a beer in Z'Mutt.

Yelp
Such a quaint little hotel right off of the main street in the village of zermatt. Rustic yet modern enough for today's little comforts. The staff here is beyond friendly and accommodating. I think it's a family owned business which is a total plus! They pick you up from the train station in a little electric car (only electric cars and horse drawn carriages in zermatt! Aka no pollution!!) The staff is always willing to help make your stay as comfortable as possible, and they are always genuinely nice. The rooms are decently sized. Most things you would expect like a tv, couch, closet, wardrobe, etc. just no fridge. Also a balcony! Only downside is that the bed is more of a cot and the "queen" bed is just two twins pushed together. Very springy and hard. They also have a spa downstairs. It's only open from 4-8 (but they will open it for you other times during the day if you just ask) and it has two individual hot tubs. They're more like jetted bathtubs but it is nice to have fresh water for every person. I haven't used the other amenities in the spa but they also have a tanning salon, steam room, and sauna. Breakfast is included and it is stellar! Breads, all kinds of jams and chutneys, sliced meats, smoked salmon, fruits, cheeses, cereal, and made to order egg dishes. Oh. My. Lord. The egg dishes are cooked to Perfection. Which at this altitude, is beyond impressive. Soft boiled egg and scrambled have been my fave so far. I loved my stay and if I'm ever back in Zermatt, this would be my hotel of choice
