I had a good stay, the hotel undoubtedly enjoys THE most stellar of views, in particular over its namesake, the gorgeous Chiaia di Luna - a striking, crescent shaped beach, framed by mighty, white tuff cliffs. Some rooms enjoy this view, others don’t, but the restaurant and bar are both perfectly positioned to max out on this glorious backdrop. The hotel is located on a hill, a pleasant 10 minute stroll from the port, or, you can take the complimentary shuttle, which buzzes to and fro constantly (fab driver). The Reception team were helpful and efficient, with decent English spoken, and pre-stay emails responded to promptly. Staff working in the bars and restaurant were excellent - the latter providing an upscale, polished dining experience with tip top service and an elegant ambience - though food was good rather than great on my one visit. Breakfast was pleasant enough, a hot and cold buffet with serve yourself coffee machine and cheap fruit juice. It wasn't a shock, as I'd read quite a few Tripadvisor reviews, (and to be fair, the website photos don't try to dress it up particularly either), but the hotel is more 3 star than 4 in terms of quality. It is tired, dated, and unkempt in places. My partial sea view terrace room was ok, reasonably spacious, with a nod to the nautical in its blue & white styling, the furnishings simple and modest. The shower cubicle was similar to those found in 1990's student digs, the terrace loungers naff and knackered. The shower had ingrained water marks on the glass (though it did have plenty of power), and the drinking glass at the bathroom basin was stained with old toothpaste. The bed and bedding couldn't be described as luxurious, and the wardrobe door fell off when I opened an adjacent drawer. Wifi only worked in the bathroom (though again, to be fair, the website does make the wifi situation clear, and it did work well in communal areas). The nightly rate for my terrace room was a whopping €370/€360 including breakfast, though I note it is considerably less outside of high season. That's a lot of money for this standard of accommodation (and when that wardrobe door fell off for the 3rd time, I did feel slightly fleeced!) But... as we all know, price inflation is common practice in the summer hols, the season is short, and hotel rooms limited. My biggest bug bear with the hotel however, was the relentless, throbbing music which emanated from the adjacent club. Night in, night out. The banging tunes pounded from 7pm to 12pm without let up. I believe the club belongs to the hotel - it is described on the website as 'Terraces of Chaia di Luna' and I just assumed it to be another area where hotel guests could enjoy an evening drink and light bite. But confusingly, reception don't offer to make a booking there for you, they just give you a phone number to call yourself, as if it's a separate entity. The clubs' staff, armed with their self important guest-list clipboards, were surly and dismissive, and I had no desire to return after the first go. If you want to avoid the worst of the disco noise, opt for a standard room, as these are further away from the boom boom coal face - though it’s worth bearing in mind that the club is only a nightly occurrence in the main season. |Over the course of my stay, I veered between a disgruntled 2 star Tripadvisor score, to 3 at a push. There is certainly plenty to mark Chiaia di Luna down for. But all the good things considered - the spectacular setting, the charming staff, the handy location, the laid back ambiance - it’s an affectionate and forgiving 4 from me. 🤣

We have stayed here three times. Excellent location with easy access to the port. Stunning views. Front desk staff are delightful and super helpful. The multi-star rating, however, has to be taken within the context of Ponza, and not the world. The rooms are small, the room decor is far from brand new. Some amenities that we would expect from highly-rated hotels elsewhere in Italy (body lotion, hair conditioner, toiletries set, terry-cloth slippers, fitness center, access to an iron and ironing board) are not available at this hotel, so come prepared. This is probably more consistent with the island (old-school charm and few frills) itself, rather than a negative mark for the hotel. We rate this hotel multi-star within the context of the island itself and not from the perspective of global standards.

We stayed at Chiaia Di Luna with our group of 10 family members. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The pool was a bonus for the children in the group, and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. The hotel, perched on a hill, provided spectacular views of the sea and Ponza harbor. It was a very memorable experience. Highly recommended!

Ponza is a beautiful location, and Hotel Chiaia di Luna is the place to stay! The staff are so kind, and go above and beyond to help you navigate the island's quirks, and make your stay more special. We loved the beautiful view, the shuttle to and from the port, the connection to the Vespa company, cappucinos, the bathtub, and the no-frills breakfast.

Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my damn life. My wife, her parents and I were going on a trip to this hotel but had to cancel due to a health emergency. We were charged full price regardless. My wife then tried to call their financial department repeatedly, but they never answered the phone or were 'too busy' to talk to her. Then she tried to send them an e-mail to which she received a nasty response e-mail, claiming (strangely) that they didn't know who she was, but also that they had tried to call her repeatedly and that she had not cancelled the booking. Which makes no damned sense, because we cancelled the booking and how could they not know who we are, if they tried to call us repeatedly and knew we had a booking? Conflicting lies that's what, because they never called us. They've just lied to us up and down, doing everything they can to not have even a conversation about the money they charged us for. I cannot remember last time I've been this neglected and insulted by staff belonging to any business in any country. Absolutely disrespectful.

Great hotel in a fantastic location. Salty pool is perfect, breakfast excellent (ask for coffee though as otherwise terrible). Friendly shuttle bus who can get you up & down to the village. Poor choice of food for vegetarians (one pasta) so best to eat out. Don't book a sea view room as next door the nightclub is loud until midnight. Only other criticism is phoning me in UK repeatedly offering a cash discount (and again at check-in). Don't miss this amazing hotel though.

This hotel was absolutely charming. A family run business the matriarch Ilia can be found from 7am until late wandering the hotel, chatting to guests and bringing a fabulous energy to the entire property.|The room we had was small, but cute and at the rate we paid - understandable but decent value. |The hotel has a frequent shuttle running back and forth to town, with a lovely Romanian driver. they will pick you up from Port and take your bags, or whenever you need to go into town. |The breakfast was amazing - a great selection - all freshly prepared and homemade.|The restaurant also incredible and amazing value for money. |I loved the bartender in the restaurant who taught me about Ponza wine - you must try the Vino Bianca of Ponza featuring a grape exclusive to the island. |The island itself is charming, and gorgeous, i highly recommend renting a boat for 250E with private skipper and travelling around the island - its more beautiful than Capri! |Watch the incredible sunsets over the amazing rock and come back after dinner in town for dancing until midnight. |It was a little noisy at times with other guests but besides that - would be my only complaint. |Would definitely recommend island & hotel for anyone visitng!

Yelp
I was introduce to Ponza for a friends wedding and what an incredible experience. The hotel is lovely, has amazing views, friendly staff, charming rooms and an overall wonderful time. I would venture elsewhere for food but other than that, spectacular!
