We were really looking for not a typical commercial hotel and this place was so perfect. Our room had so much space for our dog and baby. The front desk staff was very sweet and helpful, housekeeping worked fast and the room was very clean. Loved the robes and the other bathroom toiletries. Our room was through the courtyard which is so cute and unique and it was stunning at night. We got drinks at the bar (the bartenders were kind and nice to talk to) and sat on the front porch of the hotel each night. You’re right next to so many restaurants to pick from. The parking garage was great for our big SUV. Seriously, everything was perfect and we hope to come back here one day.

This is our go to hotel in Santa Fe, and we have stayed at many over the years. We love the location, a half block from the historic plaza and easy walking access to fine restaurants, galleries, shopping and museums. Also the Lensic Theater. We enjoy strolling around the neighborhoods and leave our car parked for the entire time we are here. The decor in the hotel reflects the distinctive Northern New Mexico style and culture. ||Our room, a junior suite, was spacious, comfortable, and quiet. Having a wood-burning fireplace in the sitting area is an excellent amenity and a delight on the chilly winter evenings. Each night of our stay, soon after requesting firewood at the reception counter, an employee came to our room , built the fire, and lit it. He left us with a good supply of firewood to last the evening. ||The bed provided a good night’s sleep. The mattress, pillows, and linens are all excellent quality. ||Although breakfast is not included, there is coffee, tea, fruit, and cookies provided in the lobby in the morning. (I especially appreciate that they offer Rishi tea. Who does that? )||The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. Jessica was a warm and welcoming presence in the reception area.

This hotel is a great way to experience Santa Fe. You’re located in the heart of Santa Fe, less than a block from the plaza. The room was comfy with great beds. The lobby is gorgeous - classic New Mexico. There is a nice little bar attached that serves pizzas. ||The star was really the service. Wow. They were so accommodating. We needed a microwave for special dietary restrictions and they brought one to our room. We stopped by the desk several times and they were very helpful always. ||The price was very moderate for Santa Fe.

Excellent food, amenities and location. This little hotel is high on our list for romance and service!! Amazing mattress and pillows, beautiful fires in our room, the bar and the upstairs restaurant. Garage is easy in/out for adventures. November is terrific for quiet and ease of exploration. Highly recommend!!

There was one word that consistently came to my mind during our stay: charm. The people were charming. Well before our arrival, they had sent a personal welcome text. Not some AI generated crap. Something personal. They responded to my reply within two minutes. Everyone, and I mean everyone, was cheerful. Even the sweet girl at the desk at 5 who had to get up when I took my dog out. She had to unlock the front door. This is an older property. That shouldn’t be confused with worn out or a cheapened experience. Far from it. If you can live outside the modern gestalt of veneer, this proper can take you back to another time. Moreover, the company that owns this property and others, Heritage, seems to intentionally focus on character and humanity. This was evident in all our interactions. |A couple of points: didn’t find a ramp from the street level without going through the garage. That may be my issue. The other little thing to know is that the night we were there the onsite restaurant Hawt doesn’t serve pizza. That’s inconvenient. But, there’s lots of other walking distance locations.||We will definitely come here again and heartily recommend you stay here. Treat these people nice. Too many self-serving individuals run what is good. We loved it here!

We had a great stay! It was clean and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay great. the bathroom is small and the furniture could use an update but the fireplace in our room was lovely. Location is unbeatable. Great value for our money and an overall great stay!

Google
Very cute little hotel with great aesthetic. The staff is very nice and the location is wonderful. The only down side (which was very minor) was that there were multiple times when we went into the tiny lobby and nobody was at the front desk (and it took quite a bit for someone to come up), but it didn’t really have a negative affect on our trip at all.

We have stayed at Hotel Chimayo at least ten times in the past several years. It is our home away from home. The reasons that bring us back time after time are numerous. |There is the friendly and professional staff. Always with a smile and a greeting as we pass through the lobby. Another reason is the room. We stayed in the same room for a few years then the rooms changed after Covid. No problem. Every new room we stay in is wonderful ( comfy bed and pillows, separate living room from bedroom, quiet). Another reason is the parking. Located underground, it is nice in Santa Fe to have a space guaranteed without having to hassle with finding parking. Spacious, safe and connected to the hotel it is very convenient. The hotel is located just a block away from the Plaza. Restaurants, shops and museums are all close by. The Lensic Theatre is a five minute walk from the hotel. Great for an overnight stay after a concert. There is also a bar which serves pizza off from the lobby and a restaurant upstairs. We have been to the bar Slow n Low several times and the pizza is very good. There are many options for lodgings in Santa Fe and we are happy with our choice. We have been in other hotel lobbies and see how busy, crowded and noisy it can get. From the moment we arrive in the rustic lobby, and have a glass of water flavored with fresh lemons, we settle in the quiet atmosphere and immediately relax.

Yelp
This charming romantic fireplace in your room hotel is most excellent!! Also, great location and they have really good pizza at the low rider restaurant!!

Yelp
This was our first stay at Hotel Chimayo and they did not disappoint!! The hotel was close to the downtown plaza and the staff were extremely helpful and kind. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had a wood fireplace with a lovely fire each night. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is an older hotel but has charm. Convenient parking as well.

Yelp
Prime location named after the world famous Sanctuary Chimayo of miracles. Unfortunately they have a max of two rooms viewing if you are wanting to view the difference between rooms. Sadly the guy at the front desk was not kind enough to pour hot water into my tea cup because it was not 6am yet. I wasn't about to wait around for 20min when we are leaving on a day trek. The service could be better most definitely.

Mrs D.

Yelp
We selected this hotel for our first 7day visit to Santa Fe. The location is excellent you can walk to everything. Museums, shops, restaurants. We found the parking garage good with no issues. We also had no hidden charges on our bill and our room was clean. The staff was attentive and responsive. As others have noted this is an old historic hotel that does need renovations. Our original room/suite was so small, especially the bathroom, we asked for another. In Europe most rooms are smaller than these! The suites on the 3rd floor are much larger, for extended stays I would opt for these. Our room was clean, great bedding and all was fine. The hotel restaurant, Low and Slow only serves pizza and it's great. Check days of operation. Our recommendations for dining within an easy walk. Santa Cafe, Horto and the upscale Sazon. Location is the asset here. We would book again. Hopefully this charming hotel will upgrade but remember the prices will soar afterwards!

Yelp
Whenever I find myself traveling through SFNM I make it a point to stop for the night in this enchanting town and stay at no other than The Hotel Chimayó. This has been a tradition of mine for years. The service and rooms are bar none the BEST in SF. Trust me Travelers and Yelpers you won't be disappointed if you stay here... I have placed Hotel Chimayó on my Platinum List if you are looking for hotel accommodations in SF. So let it be written... So let it be BOOKED.

Yelp
Such a cute hotel with very friendly staff and unique rooms in a great location! Our room was up a flight of stairs and had everything we could need - a small balcony, mini fridge, waters, keurig with coffee and tea, plus 2 beds with 4 pillows each. They have free parking in a small garage under the hotel (with options for overflow if you ask). They also provided tons of restaurant recommendations nearby. We had a great stay here! The only minor complaints - the walls are pretty thin. We could hear our neighbors coming in, walking up the steps, going into the bathroom, etc. Also we turned the fan on in the room but at night it just turned off for some reason so the room was silent. It's difficult for me to sleep without some white noise.

Yelp
We spend time in Santa Fe a couple times a year - normally in an Airbnb. When our arrangements fell through, I reserved a suite at the Hotel Chimayo. The experience was mixed. The hotel does have a fantastic location - so that's what you pay for. On this trip, we simply left our car in the parking structure and walked everywhere. However, the hotel shows wear and a lack of maintenance - from the wobbly railing and peeling paint at the front entrance to the large chunks of stucco falling off the walls in the courtyard - not to mention the guest room doors that are filthy. The room was smaller than expected for a suite, so we didn't use the living area. The bed and linens were excellent - very comfy. Since our room was on the first floor on the street - we were awakened several times by fights and yelling coming from the homeless encampment a few yards away. When the room coffee maker would not come on, I did tell one of the young staff members at the desk. She said "Oh," and shrugged - busying herself with something else. The coffee maker issue never was addressed. I was quite disappointed as the staff at the desk had been friendly and really on top of things. We did discover the bar off the lobby was a great place. Called "The Low and Slow" - We got to know some locals that hang out there and who told us how great the pizza is. They were right! We had a lot of fun here! I just don't think we will revisit the Hotel Chimayo.

Yelp
WARNING DO NOT BOOK HERE. You will pay a HIDDEN amenities charge ($100 for 3 nights) upon checking out that is NOWHERE stated in their listing beforehand, with neither an invoice nor a basic courteous verbal notification of this charge upon checkout either. Just a sneaky extra statement on your card that shows up at some point when you leave. Complete lack of transparency and honesty. When booking through Priceline, the hotel already levies a hefty 30% extra charges in "taxes and fees" that one assumes would pay for the aforementioned amenity fee, but no infact there is a hidden charge on TOP of this already exorbitant fee. In the end, I paid $60 more PER DAY on top of the listing price. For your basic 3 night stay that is almost $200 in EXTRA charges. I'm all for paying more for services, but only if things are up front and transparent. Normal practice for charging resort/amenity fees is to have it stated very clearly both prior in the listing and while checking in the presence of such a fee. This hotel does neither, instead buries the fee in that sea of tiny fine print that the guest signs when checking in (you know the stuff that no one actually reads and one hopes they can trust the business enough that they don't have to read in 99% of cases.. this hotel is the 1%). Even if a shrewd guest spots this tiny line at check in, they are at this point already trapped into a commitment to staying at the hotel or lose their first night's payment and suffer thru the inconveniences of finding a new last minute hotel. Definition of shady and exploitative. I feel like unfortunately many past guests didn't even notice this extra charge. I certainly wouldn't have if I hadn't been checked my card statements for some unrelated issue, and would have left with the mistaken impression that this hotel was an honest business. Hence the explanation for the overall high reviews for this hotel to date. There are numerous hotels in the area providing similar service at a much better rate (when you factor in the ridiculous fees)--please support them instead. Tldr; Shady business, hidden fees, the true price of the hotel is almost 50% MORE the listing price for their more basic rooms

Yelp
Small quaint hotel super close to the plaza. Very limited parking garage but helpful because there is so much within walking distance. Great restaurant on-site and loved the decor, but the place definitely needs maintenance on the outside. Cracking, peeling stucco and paint throughout. Tons of stairs so be ready to climb- even to your room and in your room. Balconies are really nice, comfy bedding but small rooms with tiny bathrooms, but they're nice.

Daniel Z.

Yelp
I've read some of the low ratings on this place which are mostly not related to the overall hotel experience. This place is awesome. The architecture is amazing, the rooms are beautiful and peaceful and the entire hotel Campus has a little history around every corner. Our room had a wood burning fireplace which you can have them bring you the materials to start the fire yourself or they will come build it yourself. We opted for the materials so we could start when we were ready. They still stack the wood and paper for you. Jay at the front desk was super friendly and provided us a map/highlighted top places within walking distance to include a couple of his favorites. We tried one for dinner and it was a really neat place with great food. This place is a must when staying in Santa Fe.

Carrie B.

Yelp
What an adorable and authentic hotel right by the Plaza and all the fun downtown Santa Fe offers. Amazing service that started before we had even checked in. A courtyard off the lobby leads to the unique rooms- we stayed in a king suite that had a little seating area and fireplace along with two cute balconies. We also ate at the hotel's restaurant/bar that had wood fired pizza and super friendly staff. Would love to stay here again!

Brizhe S.

Yelp
Great place to stay and a very helpful staff. While staying at the Hotel Chimayo I experienced altitude sickness that the front desk manager recognized and immediately got me help. Once I felt better they also recommended a holistic shop so I could continue my vacation. The hotel is clean, quaint and conveniently located to everything in town. If you are ever in Santa Fe, this is the place to stay.

Kelly K.

Yelp
Lovely hotel. Excellent locations. Clean. Helpful and friendly staff. Great stay in a beautiful city.

Rick P.

Yelp
We booked the Hotel Chimayo for my husband's birthday on a trip thru New Mexico. Gabriel at the front desk could not have been more helpful, kind or considerate. He always greeted us kindly and called restaurants to check on dog friendly patios. We ended up eating at the hotel restaurant. The staff there was efficient and friendly, the food was very good and atmosphere was very nice. Our room has a small balcony, fireplace and refrigerator. It is clean and quiet. The hotel is convenient to the square, restaurants and it was nice walking around to window shop and people watch. Underground parking was convenient. The Georgia O'Keefe museum is very close. We had a nice stay.

Atom B.

Yelp
Decent place, and it should be for the money - but watch your pockets on the way out! That's where you'll find their hands. I booked on Expedia, "taxes and fees included". Their parking lot was full, so they promised to reimburse my parking fee, but never did. Then, they charged an extra "amenity fee" to my card, which I found later. They were extremely difficult about keeping the extra money, and I had to get Expedia involved to recover the extra charges.

Lenore A.

Yelp
Here are the comments we passed on to the hotel- but received no response: Dear Front Office, You have a lovely hotel, ideally situated and a very nice staff. The beds and sheets were wonderful. However for a $400/night visit we would expect more than 1 towel per person for the entire stay. In fact we thought there would be rooms cleaned daily. My husband did get cut by glass in the rug- so there is not that great a vacuuming being done.. We did expect a functioning fireplace with wood- as we had in Taos during our stay. The rooms could use better lighting. The plumbing is backed up- sink and tub drain very slowly. And most problematic for us was that you have no pet free rooms for people who are allergic to pet dander. And, breakfast would have been nice. Also, you promise parking but we had difficulty finding spots and most of the cars did not have permits- so the spots are not being reserved for your guests.

Yelp
I really wish I could give this hotel a 5 star review, but there is a huge reason why I can't. My husband and I stayed here for our Anniversary last month as a little get away from home to enjoy the weekend together. We were only there for one night, but it was a rough one. We had a room with a fireplace which was much needed since it was REALLY cold the night we stayed. The rooms are clean and set up nicely. My biggest issue was the bed. I have Fibromyalgia and a bed can make or break my hotel stay. The bed was hard and not comfortable at all. I tossed and turned and every nerve in my body was not having it. I got up and paced since I didn't know what else to do. I finally waited it out until I felt like maybe the pressure between the bed and my body calmed and I laid back down. I slept for maybe two hours, which is not good because my disease (I have another one beyond Fibro!) relies on sleep and stress management in order to not keep me bedridden all day long. This might not be a huge deal to anyone else, but when you struggle with a disease that requires comfortable beds and another that relies on proper sleep, its a recipe for disaster if neither are met. I loved the room over all, it's clean, it's cute, and I love the seating area by the fireplace. I also loved that we were able to have a fire. The person who came to set it up was super friendly. It also did frustrate me when we went to the lobby to ask for someone to set up our fire, that another customer had come in and asked for a couple of items since they didn't get maid service and the person at the front desk mumbled under his breath "oh goody". I get that not everyone is friendly and things get frustrating, especially in these times, but that's not something that should be done in front of other customers. It's a great hotel, but until the beds are changed out for ones that are softer, I won't be returning.

Shonel G.

Yelp
Save your money. Go stay some place else! The place is not a cute as the pictures. The AC was not functional during our trip. We asked for a fan and was told they were out of them. Most rooms are not accessible via elevator. They do not have enough parking for guests! They charge excessive resort fees on top of the daily charge for your room.

Catherine C.

Yelp
The shower didn't work, leaving us without a shower before a wedding. Due to a recent surgery, my husband was unable to take a bath. I have a back injury and cannot use a bath. We requested a discount on this pricy room. Didn't happen.

Margaret M.

Yelp
Great location. Our room was spacious with very comfortable bed. As previous guests have noted, the rooms are not soundproof but the noise was minimal and unobtrusive. We'll stay there again.

Michel F.

Yelp
So far, I'm not happy. Between all the charges, this hotel will cost us close to $250 per night and so far, we are on our third night without a working A/C in August after multiple promises that things were fixed . As for fans, I was told they were all already distributed, so either they have very few or the whole hotel is out of A/C. They promised to **accommodate** us at checkout. We'll see... In the meantime, we can't sleep. You think they would have run at one of the 2 Walmarts of Santa Fe to buy a few $10 box fans. I guess I should have but I got home exhausted by a long hiking day and don't have the strength to get a fan at 10pm... Too bad. The location is good, the rooms decent though a little on the rundown side.

Peter D.

Yelp
The Good: -Extremely comfortable rooms. Amazing pillows, and lots of them. -Nobody murdered us while we were staying here.* -Not generic in any way. You know you're in New Mexico, and I like it. -Huge bunches of hanging peppers all over. I like that too. -We got upgraded to a suite when we checked in. -Fireplaces. Everyone likes fireplaces. -Fantastic location. You're in the center of the town, and you can walk everywhere. The Bad. -I'm kind of blanking on anything we didn't really like. -I guess there's no pool. I would like a pool. -And I suppose the bathrooms could use an update? They work though, so I'm good. -There is a lot of religious imagery around. That can turn some folks off, I'm sure. The Ugly. -Nothing. Santa Fe's a beautiful place. ______________ *Not that anyone expected to be murdered, but it's always nice to note.

Stella D.

Yelp
Wow! What a pleasant surprise here! On the way here, I almost stopped next door because the crowd looked a bit more prestige. Unfortunately there was a drunk woman from the festival shouting Fbombs at everyone in the front. The police eventually handcuffed her and sent her on her away. After sitting down, it was all an upward experience because the food was so amazing! Expect a plate full of fresh ingredients and full of flavor!

Jennifer T.

Yelp
I've loved this hotel for more than a decade and still do. Our recent stay was obviously quiet with few rooms full since it's a normally quiet week in Santa Fe AND we're in a pandemic. The combination of price and location one block off the plaza can't be beat. The rooms have so much charm and it's a small cozy place. If you're looking for classic upscale with elevators and enclosed hallways, don't bother. The rooms with fireplaces are worth the slight extra cost. Everything you could dream of is working waking distance. The staff were incredibly courteous and removed the parking (amenity) fee once we explained our truck was too tall to fit in the garage. The bathroom area is a little small, but I love the handmade tiles. I'd rather stay a block away from the hustle and bustle and visit the mega-hotels than stay in them.

Karin H.

Yelp
We were looking for a property that would allow us easy walkability around Santa Fe and for that we scored. That was about it though. We were in a junior suite but the living room area was not really conducive to sitting and enjoying. The bedroom was set up so that the view from the bed was the toilet. The hotel was also pretty loud with thin walls. We could hear neighboring rooms shower, shave, brush teeth and garbage pick up on the street every night. Definitely not restful. The parking lot was way too small for the facility so people would double park you in with no way of getting out. If accessibility is an issue, this facility may be difficult for you.

Bryan L.

Yelp
Stayed here last week and for the most part it was ok. The walls are pretty thin so I could hear my neighbors walking around at all hours. There is construction nearby so that was noisy and then the garbage trucks came rolling by at 6am so it was an early start to my day. Their underground parking garage has extremely limited space so you are allowed to double park but you have to leave the keys at the desk so they can move your car if necessary. The garage entrance is on Nusbaum St but its a one-way street so you have to enter going East off Washington St. I couldn't get onto their WiFi for some reason but they don't have a password so its probably not a good idea to use it anyway. Its a small hotel and if you want something close to downtown, this is a nice option. Although depending on when you book and what kind of room you get, you might end up paying between $200-300 a night.

Nancy V.

Yelp
Excellent location. Parking included. My wife and I celebrated our 30th Summer for a week in Santa Fe. Zach was terrific and had a complimentary bottle of Spanish Brute that bubbled all week long thanks to a super cold mini-fridge in the room. After very long walks each day we enjoyed the fruit water in the lobby. The front porch is a pleaser place to sit and read or sketch but it can get loud from the bar next door so plan to sit off hours for a peaceful place. There isn't room service but the limited bar menu, as well as restaurants with in walking distance can pack it to go if you want to eat in the room. The cleaning staff and valet help was very courteous and helpful if you have a question about the room itself. We were disappointed at original attitude Esperanza gave us when we asked for the shuttle to the Intl Folk Festival. When we booked the room, months earlier, one of the things we required in our selection was transportation to the event. We were told that the service they use was "unavailable" and told this only when I asked for confirmation the day before. I had to scurry to figure out how to get to the event that we centered our trip around. The next morning Esperanza was at the desk when I went to fetch breakfast and I asked if she had worked the 9am transport yet. She hadn't. While I was at the bakery, go to Boultown's on Marcy, btw, I asked the guy making coffee and he told me where we could park to catch the busses that were specifically for that event. I went ahead to see if the hotel had a better idea but were told we could walk half a mile to catch a ride at a different hotel and pay $1 to ride. Are you kidding me? We are staying at this hotel for seven nights, we were promised transportation. If I was the manager at this hotel, I would have driven the guest myself to the drop off and had them text me to get a ride back. I expected that sort of 5-Star Service from a Heritage Hotel and it was disappointing. Overall - the location alone gives them 3 stars. No room service limits one star and the disappointment kept them from four. Then again, I think if Zach had been on shift in the morning he would have done more. I'm going 4 stars just for him. Update: upon check out Esperanza gave us a $50 credit for the transportation issue mentioned above. It was the right thing to do and I appreciated it.

Jamie S.

Yelp
Super cute hotel right by the plaza. Hotel staff was beyond courteous and Sabrina even helped my husband navigate around the block to the parking garage. By the way, don't underestimate the value of this hotel having parking even if you pay for it. There is no parking nearby. King room with a sofa bed big enough for my son to sleep on. Brought us sheets and extra towels. They even gave us a few drink coupons for the hotel bar which we used later for the best margarita, seriously. Only issue... apparently it rained heavily leading up to our visit so our room smelled of mildew :( but we were only there for one night so no biggie. Great location in the summer, can only imagine in the winter.

Christopher D.

Yelp
HotelTonight has a nearly perfect rating for Chimayo de Santa Fe. I'm stumped. The hotel perfectly matches the interior quality and lack of renovation of a budget hotel, with the high price of a premium facility. The room had a buzz coming from the HVAC unit that could not be completely shut off. I asked to see another room and the same noise was present so I stayed put. The quaintness is apparent and it will check all the boxes of an old south western hotel if that's what you're looking for.

Laura M.

Yelp
Im not quite sure this hotel is worth the high price tag. 1) The only option to get to our room was by stairs outside, it was raining this weekend so that sucked having to be soaked going into your room. There was a huge puddle outside our room everyday. 2) Having stairs also apparently means you must take your own luggage to your room.. and lug it upstairs.. in the pouring rain 3) Also if you request a crib, they have to lug it outside and upstairs. It is a regular crib with wheels so I was weirded out by that as my baby has to sleep on something being lugged outside in the dust and the rain. 4) Our sink, shower and toilet are crammed into this tiny space. And we have a "deluxe fireplace suite!" 5) I also agree with others that the living room is awkward and the furniture is not conducive for sitting. 6) The bed is comfy yes but smells like B.O, bad! 7) Wifi did not work and my phone kept alerting me that it was not a safe connection.

Yelp
This was our second stay at the Hotel Chimayo. We will now stay here every time we come back to Santa Fe. The staff was tremendous given the special conditions regarding COVID-19. Two of the staff members stuck out as over the top spectacular. Santiago and Elva. Santiago made sure we were comfortable and anticipated our every need. We stay at hotel all over the world and Santiago's level of serves was on par if not better that the finest hotels in the world. Well done Santiago! You made our entire trip. Elva made sure our room was spotless and comfortable every day. Coming back to our room at the end of the day was a joy because it was perfect. Well done Elva!

Gayla R.

Yelp
I really like this hotel. It has that historic Santa Fe feel and decor and the rooms are very nice. I was woken up about 1 am by some very loud guest and had to call the front desk to quiet them down, but they went right over and calmed the guest down so I could go back to sleep. I will stay here whenever possible for my Santa Fe stays.

Yelp
The bartender Bobby has anger issues. Walked in for a drink he said it was closed okay no problem. Turned to walk away my friend said its smells like breach meaning their cleaning up . As were walking out Bobby the bartender throws a huge piece of ice like a baseball hit me on my right shoulder and hurts me . Grant you I am a petite women. I confront him he says I heard something different. I than told him you seriously made the intention to hurt someone with that piece of ice and you hit a women in the back , who never spoke a word to you. He than said I am sorry . I am in serious pain he only concern is he going to get fired . I spoke to the owner Antony who was only concerned that his personal number was given out , not once did he ask me if I was okay..The owner sent me to the Hotel supervisor who listened and told me he would talk to Bobby and asked me what I needed or wanted. I not after anything but I will be continuing this conversation with the supervisor on Monday.. Message to the owner Antony do you realize you could be sued . I have several people who witnessed what Bobby the bartender did and Bobby admitted it himself . This is serious problem I am hurt and I will see to it that I get proper treatment for my injury . They will be responsible. A man who hurts a women By throwing a huge hard piece of Ice to her back . This person has serious problems .

Yelp
The customer service at this hotel is amazing! Our shower knob broke off and they were here in two minutes, fixed it in one minute, and we're out the door immediately. I've never seen better service at a hotel! Not to mention how beautiful everything is. Yesterday was my husband's birthday and we ate at the restaurant that is connected to the hotel and it was excellent. Great experience!

OK, so my wife laughed that I knocked Hotel Chimayo down one star for the WiFi last visit. Hey, I'm an engineer. This visit was perfect. We were treated to the best service you can get. The staff is very professional, however there is one outstanding member. Raul is about the nicest guy you could want to meet. His attention to the guests is impeccable. If everyone was as professional as Raul, I'd have nothing to complain about on Yelp :)

Yelp
By far one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at! Given the location of the hotel, I expected it to be older with a southwestern decor. I was correct and that didn't bother me. What made our stay undesirable was: 1. There is absolutely no parking. When I inquired about the parking situation upon check in I was told that there is an $18 parking fee to park in the garage. I do not recall this being mentioned on the website, confirmation e mail OR explained to me when confirming my reservation. Because of this inconvenience, the fee was waived (supposedly) BUT upon return to our room at 10 pm there was no parking in the garage and we had to park on the street 2. After returning from dinner at 10 pm, I asked that a fire be lit. I was told that 2 rooms were before ours but he'd be up ASAP. At 1053 the man still had not arrived. I called the front desk and was told he would get with maintenance to get the status. I explained that if it was longer than 15 minutes that we weren't interested. The front desk staff said he'd call right back. He never did. 3. You are not able to control the temperature in the room. There is a central area that controls this. Again, this was not displayed on their website OR explained during check in. They have a note posted next to the thermostat stating that you should call the front desk for additional blankets or a fan. Our room was COLD. Temperatures were in the teens and we had one blanket and no fire! 4. The room looked grimy. The floors were uneven, carpet is dirty, a window was broken, the chandelier was missing a screw and the thing titled and looked dangerous. The bathroom and vanity were so small and the bathtub had a clog! 5. A hold was placed on my account which included the room fee, parking fee (which they said they would waive) and a $50 hold for using debit. I get it, not a problem. BUT then my account for debited for the amount of the room AND they still had a pending debited amount on my bank account. When I called to inquire I was simply told "that's the way it works" 6. There is no WiFi and the reception is not the best. Overall review - save yourself the headache and stay at another location!!

Yelp
This place is a mixed bag but in the end gave two stars because I would not come back. First for the positives. 1.the staff is gracious and very helpful. Definitely five star staff. 2. Great location. Very central but just off the main square so hotel is quiet. 3. On-site parking garage under the hotel is a rarity in Sante Fe. There is a garage under the hotel which is easily accessed and has a nice wide center aisle for easy parking. Second, for the negatives. 1. The rooms are dark dark dark. Rooms open toward a central open air courtyard/passageway. The rooms have windows onto this passage way but you have to have curtains so people don't see into the rooms. The curtains are black out curtains. On the back of the rooms/suites there is an alley of sorts. For privacy again there are the blackout curtains. I have a suggestion here. There are wonderful top down bottom up blinds that let light in but provide privacy. This would be a vast improvement. Dark, dull and dated interior finishes don't help. Off white walls would really help. Carpet is dated style and dark. 2. The rooms are very dated. The bathrooms really need to be updated. Very cramped. The toilet is squeezed next to the shower. 3. While discussing the bathrooms let's talk about the great thing about having a make up mirror which is unfortunately mounted for only 6 foot tall people. 4. Nice large king size bed only for those who like soft beds.

Yelp
I'm currently in the middle of my second stay at Hotel Chimayo. Staff members are friendly and accommodating, the hotel is quaint, lovey, quiet, and extremely well appointed, and best of all the rooms and beds are extraordinarily comfortable. Recomend highly!!!

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel on June 21. I was looking forward to it after all the 5 star reviews. Upon arrival our key would not work and did not work the entire stay. We had to be let in each time we wanted back in the room. I decided to take a shower at 9:30 and I had an issue with the water spraying out of the faucet. Maintenance did attend right away and he was very friendly. Our water was out of service the entire night. No flushing the toilet was even available. I do appreciate they did offer to move us at 9:30pm. We decided against it since we were already in bed. They did however give us a 20% off discount. I hope I don't like a jerk complaining. I'm just stating the facts. It would have been nice if a manager or member of staff (other than maintenance ) would have addressed the situation in person. Parking is limited so be sure to leave plenty of time in the morning just in case you are blocked in. I did leave a review on their Facebook page but I guess since it was not 5 star it was removed. The man outside who helped us with our bags, two young men at the front and the woman bartender all 5 star service. Just a few issues that could have been addressed in person. There is no perfect place in this world. I just went on an off day. We did receive a generated email (probably send to all guest) thanking us for our stay and offering 20% off on our next visit. I was not going to leave a review but someone in my Instagram pointed out I was complaining.

Yelp
This hotel is less than a block from the plaza. It is aesthetic, very well maintained, and includes underground parking. The room was large and very clean. We had a couch, fireplace, wet bar, closet, and windows that open. The bath room and sink could be bigger but are certainly functional. The WiFi is free and works well.

Yelp
We and 2 other couples spent 5 nights here in Sept. 2019. Unbeknownst to us when we booked our room, we had to climb 18 steps up to our rooms. On the first night, our friend fell down all 18 steps as he thought he was headed to the bathroom. Needless to say, he went to the hospital, then subsequently had a subdural hematoma drained. The bathroom is tiny, the lighting is poor, the parking in the garage was not large enough for all cars, so they had to be double-parked, which meant keys were left at the desk for the staff to move the cars when needed. We will not return to this hotel.

Yelp
This was our first escape after our vaccines and it was the perfect spot for a lovely few days of wandering, gallery-hopping, and dining. Everyone on the staff was hospitable and friendly and Covid-safe. The hotel is a block away from the main square and is charming inside and out. We loved our comfy room and the peaceful setting of the hotel. Great margaritas at the bar. Will definitely come back!

Yelp
Charming and well located- spacious loft style room. Nice hotel however we were charged a $20 per night upgrade fee without being asked if we wanted an upgrade and didnt know we had even been upgraded. Front desk never explained this fee but did an adjustment to the bill when we asked about it. That seems very shady. Then was a $25 per night service fee and sales tax on the service fee. Coffee was empty both mornings in the lobby. No hot tub on property and a barking dog in the courtyard both mornings for an extended period.

Yelp
Really cool place to stay in Santa Fe. The restaurant Estevan upstairs is great also. Good food and good prices

Yelp
We had spent a long day traveling to Santa Fe from the East Coast. When we arrived at the Hotel Chimayo we found that the room we had reserved weeks earlier was not available and that the hotel was full. Fortunately, Luz at the front desk contacted a "sister" hotel a few blocks away and found us a room. She also arranged for a shuttle to take us there. We didn't get to stay at the Hotel Chimayo but we got great customer service and would recommend them. Luz handled our problem very effectively and, in fact, we ended up with a great room at the Hotel St Francis.

Yelp
So happy here!!! Right in the plaza, the convenience alone is worth staying here. The staff, went above and beyond to accommodate us!!! We love the King suite. We've been here few times and are never disappointed! The hotel is just what we needed!

Yelp
We visited Santa Fe in March. Yes it was a bit windy but we had a great trip. The Hotel Chimayo de Santa Fe was very nice. We loved the place. It had a charm that was just perfect for my wife and me. The in room fireplace was just perfect and it was also warm and cozy. There is underground parking but the cost of $18 a day was the reason I gave this place a 4 and not a 5. That is an unreasonable charge to park a car. Other than that, this place seems to be a one of a kind gem in the heart of an amazing town. We will be back and we already look forward to the next visit. We also used the restaurant and it too was great. They are perhaps a little understaffed, but that could have just been because we were there in the spring. Loved this place and its local charm.

Yelp
This is a great hotel in downtown Santa Fe. Beautiful southwestern charm, a block from the Plaza and multiple points of interest and pleasure. On the right side of town to visit the legislature or swiftly hit the road that leads to the Ski area and 10,000 Waves Japanese spa. If you get a room with a fireplace they'll bring logs and light a fire for you (nice to tip the fellow who delivers). Very reasonably priced hotel, with an underground private parking garage.
