I really wish I could give this hotel a 5 star review, but there is a huge reason why I can't. My husband and I stayed here for our Anniversary last month as a little get away from home to enjoy the weekend together. We were only there for one night, but it was a rough one. We had a room with a fireplace which was much needed since it was REALLY cold the night we stayed. The rooms are clean and set up nicely. My biggest issue was the bed. I have Fibromyalgia and a bed can make or break my hotel stay. The bed was hard and not comfortable at all. I tossed and turned and every nerve in my body was not having it. I got up and paced since I didn't know what else to do. I finally waited it out until I felt like maybe the pressure between the bed and my body calmed and I laid back down. I slept for maybe two hours, which is not good because my disease (I have another one beyond Fibro!) relies on sleep and stress management in order to not keep me bedridden all day long. This might not be a huge deal to anyone else, but when you struggle with a disease that requires comfortable beds and another that relies on proper sleep, its a recipe for disaster if neither are met.
I loved the room over all, it's clean, it's cute, and I love the seating area by the fireplace. I also loved that we were able to have a fire. The person who came to set it up was super friendly.
It also did frustrate me when we went to the lobby to ask for someone to set up our fire, that another customer had come in and asked for a couple of items since they didn't get maid service and the person at the front desk mumbled under his breath "oh goody". I get that not everyone is friendly and things get frustrating, especially in these times, but that's not something that should be done in front of other customers.
It's a great hotel, but until the beds are changed out for ones that are softer, I won't be returning.
