This very old Parisian hotel checks all the boxes for charm and authenticity. The walls are thin, but the rooms are tidy and clean, and the rooms are small. Our bathroom has the best shower pressure ever. The location is stellar.

Awful experience. My daughter had an urgent need to use the restroom, but a young receptionist at the front desk refused her access. This lack of compassion speaks volumes about the hotel’s priorities—clearly, it’s all business and no heart. From a customer service and marketing perspective, this was a disastrous move, highlighting the poor quality of service. Avoid this place at all costs. Don’t waste your money on a hotel with such cold and unhelpful staff.

The staff is extremely nice and kind. The hotel itself is really cute and quaint. Some may find the rooms tiny, but I had looked at the pictures on Google, so I was prepared for it.
I am only giving this 2** because they tend to have a cat roaming around freely. Apparently, the owner said that the cat is quite famous on their Instagram page - but sorry, I don't look at a hotel's Instagram page before booking it. I am someone who is scared of animals, and the cat would just roam around freely in the hotel. The cat's litter cage was right outside my room, and this was unacceptable. I woke up to meowing sounds in the morning as the cat was likely outside my door. No matter whether you like or dislike animals, this is a hotel and not a farm or a zoo. For folks who are averse to animals being around, avoid this place.

No heart and bad service, my little daughter wanted to go to the toilet in emergency but the girl at the reception declines and let us out.
We understand that it is reserved for customers and they cannot accept everyone but there should be some exceptions for kids and emergencies.
Your lack of compassion and lack of marketing just makes me puke !
modification to reply to the hotel answer below:
The fact is that I did ask politely and nicely, suggesting my polite request was impolite doesn’t hold up—I mean who asks for something rudely especially in these cases? It’s illogical and feels like an excuse to deflect from the issue, which is disappointing.
I will keep alerting people regarding your lack of heart and lack of service on other social platforms and I can tell you that I have hundred of thousands of followers, I want my followers get the best service while in Paris.

But room is very simple, I saw dirty dust in the closet and a cloth warm crowing to my cloth. The room was so hot at summer due to no aircon. I remembered I paid the price with bathtub and larger room but I didn’t get it.
Maybe winter time would be better to stay.

Unfortunately we booked a “classic” room but were downgraded to a “budget” room which wasn’t highlighted to us during check in. We stayed in room 312 (pictured as budget on their website) which was very tired and the bathrooms had a strong smell.
This would have been more palatable if we had been charged for a budget room only, but they still charged us the full classic room rate. I therefore feel conned and I cannot recommend Hotel Chopin for this reason. Be very careful when booking and clarify which room you are staying in.

It's fair value for where is it and I enjoyed the historical elements and clarinet the cat.||Downsides the drain stinks, I had to cover the drain in the shower and sink with towels to be able to sleep. The rooms are v dated and had suspicious stains on the carpet. The walls are pretty paper thin. You're unlikely to sleep well. ||I think some rooms are better from walking past whilst cleaners in.

The only mistake I made with this hotel was booking it as the first hotel of my multi-city vacation, because no other hotel could compare! It is a lovely hotel and it's authentic Parisian feel will contribute to a very special Paris trip. The staff was kind. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Based off of other reviews, I expected the room to be tiny, but there was plenty of space for two of us and our luggage to be spread out. There aren't a lot of amenities, but an iron and hair dryer can be provided upon request. There is no AC, but it was comfortable with the fan on (in late May). The location is lovely and safe, and extremely close to the Grand Boulevards metro station which can take you about anywhere you want to go. If you prefer a corporate hotel or a more upscale hotel, this one may not be for you. But if you're looking for a unique experience, choose this hotel. Plenty of places to eat nearby. The Cafe Zephyr at the beginning of the passage has some great options. Definitely get a crepe at the crepe/creamery place down the block.
Also, there is a hotel cat that roams around the passage and the lobby area. I love cats, but my husband is allergic, so I was hesitant. There is nothing to worry about if you have allergies. Again, it's a clean hotel. You probably won't even know the cat, Clarinette, is there.

Yelp
Intimate, old-fashioned and unique, Hotel Chopin is a must stay when i am in Paris with the ones I love. The rooms are modest, to say the least, but the breakfast is wonderful, especially the fresh orange juice maker. Located in Passage Jouffroy just off the Avenues, Hotel Chopin seems timeless and a bit fashionably run down. It is quiet and slow-paced and convenient to everything.

Yelp
Very unique and quaint place. Location is excellent, and the light continental breakfast fits any needs you may have.
