"It’s not just the proximity to Oslo’s National Theater that gives the Hotel Christiania Teater its name. This classic edifice opened in 1917 as a theater and an office building, and it’s lived a storied life since then, playing a supporting role in the history of Norwegian opera and drama. These days the auditorium is used for private events, and for our purposes, it’s what’s upstairs that’s important; the offices have been replaced with some of Oslo’s most stylish luxury hotel rooms." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel was in a perfect location. We walked most everywhere and there was a tram stop just a block or two away.||When we checked in, we were early, so we left our bags with the front desk. The staff wavery friendly. Our room was a good size. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was generous with a wonderful shower. The breakfast each day was abundant and the food was very delicious. ||We also enjoyed the pizza restaurant one night, and it was also delicious.||The only drawback was our room faced the street and there was a very loud techno beat from a block or so away that went until 1-2am. It is probably just a summer thing, but we definitely needed our earplugs!||Even so, I highly recommend this hotel.

I recently stayed at the Christiania again, because my first experience was so enjoyable. On my last visit, absolutely everything was marvellous-my bedroom was fabulous and clean, the staff were incredibly helpful and cheerful (always a good sign that things are working well behind the scenes). The breakfast buffet was an amazing cornucopia. The hotel is very well situated, opposite the beautiful square, and a short walk to the centre, or to the bustling harbour area. I can’t fault the Christiania and look forward to my next visit.

The hotel and rooms were beautiful, staff was very friendly, food was amazing, including the breakfast! The location was also perfect to get anywhere in the city. Unfortunately the building is alongside a night club, which made it incredibly difficult to sleep since you have feel and hear the music until bar close. When we asked the staff about it they said the club was only open Thursday-Saturday. They also mentioned they could not compensate us for experience since we prepaid. I would definitely recommend this place still but only on week nights!

This hotel is such a treat - super historic, beautiful, perfect location, and a lovely staff! The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and clean, and the lobby is gorgeous too. We also ate at the restaurant upstairs and had some of the best gluten free pizza I've ever had!

AMAZING location! Gorgeous staff. Lovely room. Immaculately designed with beautiful artworks. Delicious breakfast. Faultless. And yes - I too fell in love with the slowest elevator in the world.

If you’re looking for a comfortable stay in city center Oslo, the Hotel Cristiana Teater is a great choice—walking distance to the National Theater, Royal Palace, Resistance Museum, public transit lines, ferries, and many restaurants. We took a short tram ride to the Opera House and Munch Museum. Our bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious, and the bathroom well appointed. Breakfast included a many options: traditional Norwegian, full English, lots of fresh fruits, and excellent breads. The reception staff is friendly and helpful. Thank you to Mathilde for being especially gracious!

We just completed a 3 night stay at Hotel Christiana Teater.|The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We arrived early and they were able to off secure luggage storage while we went out and explored Oslo.|The hotel is ideally located within walking distance to multiple nice dining and shopping options in addition to tourist sites and public transportation.|The area was very quiet and relaxing with a park across the street.|Public and museum ferries a 5 minute walk.|Rooms were large and had all the amenities expected.|We voluntarily opted out of daily cleaning and they make a small donation to unicef as a result.|Breakfast was fantastic and we looked forward to it each day. The staff does an excellent job in preparation.|The restaurant serves only Pizza and it appears to be very popular with locals as well because it was filled with customers every night.|We enjoyed the location, solitude and hospitality.

Great Hotel. Super location. We took the Airport train direct and walked minutes from station directly to the hotel. The park & fountain in the front is Lively . Minutes to city hall, water front, shopping, royal palace, national museum and Nobel Peace Center. Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast with DIY freshly squeezed orange juice, Norwegian heart shaped waffles, brown cheese and eggs and cold cuts and home made jams. We will be back !

Yelp
Great hotel. We stayed at the Hotel Christiana Teater for two nights in August. Check-in was easy, and our room was clean. The water pressure of the shower was great although the design of the bathroom made it difficult to avoid spilling a lot of water on the floor. The breakfast spread was excellent, and every dietary preference can be accommodated easily. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at the Hotel Christiana Teater in Oslo.

Yelp
Stayed here one night on a business trip. The lobby was very crowded when I arrived because they have a show that goes on. Check in was easy and the room was amazing! Very large, clean, and plenty of amenities. Decent options for the breakfast buffet in the morning. The hotel was in close proximity to everything. Front desk staff wasn't very knowledgeable of surrounding locations to eat, so check Yelp for specific food types you may want rather than asking them. Checked out and wanted to wander the city for the day before heading to the hotel. The guy at the front desk that day was awesome! Kept the bags next to the desk and was helpful when it was time to pick them up. Overall - great place to stay if you're in downtown Oslo!

Yelp
Great location. Surrounded by attractions, cafes, and even food trucks! I had a great view of the park across the street. I think the hotel had the AC running nonstop in the hallways...or something. It was horrible. The shower didn't work properly. Comfy bed, a bit expensive for the quality of the hotel, bed itself and quality of the shower/appliances.

Yelp
This is a very nice boutique hotel and it's location makes it particularly special. It's located directly across the street from beautiful Spikersuppa Park where there are benches, water fountains and street performers. Plus, it's located two or three blocks away from the National Theater subway/bus stops, city hall, and Karl Johan's Gate (lots of restaurants located in this street). One thing about Olso is that if you wish to get around you'll have to get familiar with the public transportation system and its bus stops. Taxi's are sort of expensive. My room was decorated wonderfully in a nice Scandanavian design. It contained many dark colored woods and fabrics which is not typical when I think of Scandanavian design, but it worked overall for the room. The breakfast, provided with the room fee, was also very nice. It's not a large hotel so its 2nd floor restaurant isn't very big. It's quaint, cozy, and supplied with all the breakfast basics. I loved sitting near the bright windows and overlooking Spikersuppa Park. A free dinner came with my room fee too but I never partaked in it because I was never around during dinner time. There was a staff member always present at the front desk. I inquired about this just to be sure. The only reason I knock off a star is because of it's price. It was a little pricey for me but that might have been because I booked my room at the last minute. I say if you can get a good deal on price, then go for it...

Yelp
If you need a hotel in Oslo with a fabulous location, great customer service, fantastic breakfast, Hotel Christiania Teater delivers on all fronts! The decor is very trendy and hip and all the employees were incredibly helpful and friendly from the time we arrived. The hotel room itself is very comfortable with an awesome rain shower in the bathroom; the only slight con was the poorly designed faucet in the bathroom which sprays water everywhere if you're not careful with the pressure. The big draw of the Hotel Christiania Teater is their awesome breakfast with homemade breads (can't get enough of the seed bread), fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses (try the Brunost - the caramelized goat cheese which is a Norwegian specialty), yogurts, gravlax, muesli bar with lots of dried fruit and nuts, and most of their breakfast options feature locally sourced ingredients (their organic bacon and scrambled eggs are divine). Also, there is a machine in the back where you can get freshly squeezed orange juice - delish! It's a very central location and walking distance to the swanky Aker Brygge neighborhood and ferry terminal where you can visit the nearby islands (check out the island of Hovedøya!). We highly recommend staying at this hotel if you visit Oslo; it was truly a highlight of our visit!

Yelp
We picked this hotel based on its proximity to the train stop. The location also must be near multiple night spots as it was loud late with the sounds of music and people being drunk. There is a very cool looking dark and moody bar connected to the lobby. We upgraded our room to have one with a nice big bath tub and a bit more room space - it was a good decision! Working lift enabled us to get our luggage and little one in a stroller up to our room without an issue. Breakfast was included and had ok offerings. The free WiFi was really not good, I hope the staff looks into that soon.

Yelp
The hotel is pretty, teatro is great and the rooms are clean. But, the staff seems young and inexperienced, and the hotel manager is rude and obnoxious.

Yelp
We stayed one last night in Oslo after a two week trip across Norway and Germany. We were so pleasantly surprised with this hotel! The decorations were beautiful and the rooms well equipped. The entire hotel was spotless and the staff so helpful and professional. The best part was the free breakfast! This was our favorite breakfast of the entire vacation. The French pressed coffee with freshly steamed milk was the icing on the cake. Location was perfect for walking distance to anything that you would be interested in. We only wished we could stay longer! We picked this hotel because it was a 3 minute walk to the train station and Flytoget that goes express to airport.

Yelp
Very well located in the center of Oslo. The rooms are larger than expected and the breakfast, which is included was extensive and very good.
