A really interesting hotel in a small village in the outer Mani. It is converted from some old towers and buildings which has informed the layout and design.||Parking in just below the hotel, some might find it a little awkward and I wouldn't want to arrive in the dark on my first arrival. You then follow some signs up to the gate and across the hotel's terrace. Bedrooms are dispersed around the buildings, most requiring negotiation of some steps . The historic building means that they are little on the small side but wonderfully designed and with interesting decoration. ||The bed was large and comfortable. Sheets and towels are changed every 2-3 days. Good double glazing and aircon. We slept very well. Great shower with good hot water.||A delicious and varied breakfast. Not a buffet but instead a platter of various delights such as fruit, yogurt, cheese, pastries, homemade jams etc, changes each day and served on the terrace. All with a vast range of teas. There is a glass enclosed pergola/lounge which is used if the weather is not cooperating. ||The village is an ideal base for exploring this fascinating area and the owners have a wealth of advice and information. Dinner is available on request at the hotel or there are a number of good tavernas recommended within a 20 minutes drive.||Tanya keeps a close eye on running this lovely hotel. Well recommended.

The rooms were spotless, well-maintained, and very comfortable. The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The location is peaceful and quiet, perfect for a relaxing stay while still being close enough to most of the beaches. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cozy and pleasant stay.

We planned our three-week adult family trip around being able to take a break here-- our "vacation from our vacation," and we chose very well. Our rooms were large and comfortable, with honeysuckles out our door, and the soft ringing of sheep bells and goat bells the only sounds greeting us in the afternoon before dinner. Breakfast was always a delight, and dinner (we dined at the hotel twice) was delicious: local specialties served outdoors under the evening sky. If you stay at the otel, it is well worth it to have dinner there at least once; just remember to order in the morning so the owners can get the ingredients and start cooking for you before you sit down.

A truly amazing experience! The rooms are located in towers of the 11th and 16th century. The daily breakfast is different everyday, hand-made, customizable and delicious. We also, dined there and the food was superb. The dinner is only served for the hotel residents and is made per request. The location is close to a lot of beaches (we loved Mezapos) and only 30mins from Areopoli. The hosts were so polite and gave us helpful advice for the area. There is parking space.

Our high expectations were exceeded by the idiosyncratic sophistication of the place, the quirky hospitality of the hosts and the refined scrumptiousness of the meals (do take up the offer of home cooking). Owner Tanya is a jewel, and so is the Mani.

An impressive hotel inside some old restructured towers in the heart of Mani peninsula. We tried to book online for 3 nights, but there was limited availability, so we decided to call and finally we found our room. When we arrived we were greeted by Zaira, who was our nice host and provided us with a free upgrade to a larger room with veranda.|The location was very nice and cozy, with a beautiful garden and the family owners made us feel like at home, helping in any possible way.|As this was an old settlement, there are some small stone roads and steps to reach you room.|There is also a small restaurant, with a nice wine cellar, that we tested every evening. Plates were excellent with great quality food.|Thanks to Zaira and her family for one of our best stays in Peloponnese.

What an amazing place! The owners are the best hosts, the hotel rooms have been superbly decorated sand the food is excellent. A home away from home. Our host gave us a map, highlighting the best beaches and sightseeing. The hotel is super quiet, so after a blissful sleep you can look forward to the best breakfast ever.

We had a wonderful four nights at Citta Dei Nicliani. Our hosts were so warm and welcoming. The hotel and our cool room was an oasis to come back to after long days exploring the surrounding towns and coastline. Breakfast was delicious - lots of tasty local delicacies. The dinner served in the evening was a real highlight and was served with great wine list. It was also a chance to chat to the owners a bit - it's a family run place - and they were all so lovely. They were very helpful with suggestions of what to see in the local area. My partner and I are discussing coming back to the Mani because we enjoyed the escape so much. It's places like this that were a big part of why we had such a great holiday. We'd definitely come back here again. Review by: Max and Emily.
