Hotel City Maribor

Hotel City Maribor is a good choice for those looking for a central location and a nice view of the Drava River. When checking into the room, the employee was a bit confused, which slightly spoiled the initial impression. The room was generally decorated, but the presence of cobwebs and scale on the toilets was noticeable, which was not particularly pleasant. However, the breakfast was good and varied, which made the start of the day easier.

I’m deeply sorry that my luggage is still at your beautiful hotel, I’ve had a severe car accident 2 months ago and just got released days ago from hospital - I will come back to Maribor to stay a couple of days in your beautiful hotel and pick up my suitcases . Sorry for any inconvenience

Best place to stay în Maribor. Big room and a perfect bathroom. Best breakfast and nice people. We will come again.

Room is clean. Hotel room is too dark although romantic. Bottle water is not provided for free

A small group of us arrived in the pouring rain, at lunchtime. We went to the cafe next to reception for a coffee and something light to eat. Despite the fact that there was a bar, and menus on the counter, they only serve coffee. |This is a modern hotel in a great location, by the river, and convenient for everything, but has significant design flaws. The reception area is very gloomy ( black marble) and noisy if there are more than about 4 people. It is not at all relaxing. I would have thought they would encourage guests to relax with a glass of wine/beer etc, but impossible. One of our party was partially sighted, and the foyer area was very difficult for her.|Also, the lift system is mad. To get to the rooms, you have to take a lift down one floor, then walk with your bags to another lift to go upstairs to the room. |The ( expensive) restaurant on the top floor has great views, a Michelin star ( 2022) but not many customers as far as I could see. Breakfasts were good.|One evening it was very noisy until very late, sounding as if there was a disco in the next room, with people shouting and slamming doors at all hours. Ask for a room away from the lifts.

We had an amazing Saturday night here so we could attend a wine festival in some tunnels on the other side of the Old Town. We live an hour away, but this hotel allowed us to not drive home, enjoy air conditioning, have a great breakfast, and access parking really easily. First, the room was huge! We just wanted the single bed facing the river, but it was also a massive suite with king size bed, separate shower room/toilet room, and electric shades to keep things cool and then open up for great views. We also loved the location. You can drive right to the underground parking (10 euros per night), but then it's almost immediately pedestrian-only. You cross one quiet road, and then you're in the Old Town. And the Old Town is relatively small. So it was easy to get to the wine festival (by the castle), restaurants, etc. Maribor is really accessible. Perfect hotel. We will stay here every time we visit.

Nice modern room and good location right infront of river. And also there is a big mall in walking distance.

Really nice experience (we took the better room category, I do not recall the name). Nice view in the river from the 7th floor, large, modern room, great bedding, bathtub,.... And the restaurant offers really great food, though in the pricier side. Only things missing in the hotel: - A sauna (there is a gym, though) - A Gideons hotel bible in the room (should really be standard in a hotel of this rating)
