This was the first place we stayed with a small textile tour group I was traveling with. Great introduction to Guatemala. ||Desk and front staff were extremely welcoming. There was a gentleman at the front gate who buzzed everyone in and out. ||The hotel is small, our group had only eight people, mostly in shared rooms, so this is not an impersonal “tour group” hotel. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Bathroom was spotless. The courtyard and plantings were lovely. ||The restaurant served me a sandwich mid afternoon, while empty (both me and the restaurant!). It was delicious, and our server was friendly and pleasant. We also had dinner and breakfast there. Both were tasty. ||Surrounding area felt safe, but there was nothing of note nearby, although I was tired and didn’t get out to explore too much. Lively creperie (!!) across the street had an awesome marimba playing all afternoon, which lent flavor. Two young girls staying on their own tried to walk to a nearby mall, but said it was acrost such a busy highway they were afraid to cross it, so came back and hired an uber.
