Stayed for a night in Agra at Clarks Shiraz with my family. I didn't know the history behind the name, but apparently the "project managers" for building Taj Mahal were recruited from Shiraz in Persia.||Room, bathroom and sheets were clean and well maintained. We stayed two adults and two kids in one room, so an extra bed was needed. The extra bed however had one wheel broken and my son did not have good sleep on it because not straight. The bathroom was clean but small. Amenities and towels were provided for two persons, but it was not an issue, I expect we could request extras. ||Our booking included dinner and breakfast. The breakfast buffet was sufficient, but not vast. Dinner buffet was a little disappointing, only few hot items, and the "chaat" section consisted of a strange combination of items that could not be combined to any well-known items (e.g. stuffing would be missing for pani puri, but onions, dalmothee and pani would be there).||As we visited in January, the weather was cold, and the outdoor pool remained closed. We didn't get the chance to try the gaming room or spa (closed at the time), but is there. The outdoor areas were well maintained, and good for taking a quick evening walk.||Staff and receptionists were courteous and friendly, but seemed a bit inexperienced, not everyone there spoke English well enough for communicating. A bit strange, we asked if they can arrange tour (taxi+entrance+guide) for Taj Mahal, and they outright said no. I would've expected a hotel at a tourist location to have been able to do that.||All in all, this is a "typical" tier-3 5-star hotel experience. By that I mean all he check-boxes are checked accordingly, but, you should not expect a luxury with all your needs met. I have not tried other 5-star hotels in Agra, so I don't know if there are any like that.||In summary, a good and comfortable stay, you can easily book for your visit to Agra.

Amazing hospitality. Located close to Taj. Open, spacious room, clean and well lit. Great ambiance. I was greeted with a Tika and a Maala on arrival. Made me feel really special. The lunch and breakfast buffet were nice, specially the breakfast. I had a very pleasant stay at Clark's and it is definitely in my comeback list.

The food at Clark Shiraz is excellent. It was enhanced by the service offered by Manoj who explained the dishes and made brilliant suggestions improving our dining experience. Our room was well appointed and the hotel service exemplary. When in Agra to see the Taj Mahal recommended you stay at this wonderful hotel.

The rooms were very nice and accommodating but I’m giving this place a one star for the awful experience I had at the spa. The woman who gave me a massage did an okay job. I don’t think she had any real training as a masseuse. I scheduled an hour long massage and she only did 45 minutes. Not only that, she was asking for a tip about 5-10 minutes before the massage was even over which felt very inappropriate. When I’ve gotten massages previously, it’s typical for the masseuse to leave the room when the client is dressing or undressing. Instead, as we were wrapping up, she informed me to get dressed. I was waiting for her to leave the room and she asked me again to get dressed as she just kept cleaning up the room. I grabbed my clothes and tried to get dressed without exposing myself but realized it was impossible. I heard her leave and thought she closed the door as I was almost completely naked. I finished getting dressed only to turn around and find the door half open meaning anyone who walked by would have seen me completely exposed. I tried to brush it off because I though maybe she was the only one in the spa area. There wasn’t anyone else besides me and the female masseuse when I had first come in. When I walked out to the spa lobby to pay, there was a man sitting at the desk. This made me very uncomfortable. They handed me a book to leave a review, and I really didn’t want to but the masseuse kept begging me which was very unprofessional. At the time, I was in a bit of a daze with everything that I just experienced and simply left a positive review and also wanted to avoid any confrontation while they were watching everything I was writing. Overall, a deeply uncomfortable and unprofessional experience. Such a shame because everything else at the hotel was beautiful and the rest of the staff was very hospitable. Definitely do not go to the spa though especially as a woman. My husband went earlier that day and his experience was quiet different.

The weather was so good that added to the flavour of the event. I must say a big thank u to the Owner for arranging the Chats treat for all of us.

This is a very good hotel for a comfortable stay and parties and functions. The rooms, food and services are very good. However, planks and buckets should be there in the bathroom to take a bath. For senior citizens, it is very uncomfortable and unsafe to take a bath in a standing position. Water taps are also very confusing to get the hot water. Rain water harvesting systems should be constructed inside the hotel complex.
