This beautiful hotel was set just down from the castle. Warm welcome. The rooms were pleasant and thankfully a fan supplied as it was so warm. |Breakfast lovely too. |The location was excellent

We stayed in the Bruce Junior Suite, and although it was a true suite it was extremely lacking. The carpets were coming up especially at the stairs. The grout in the bathroom tile was missing in many areas and dirt and hair were down in the cracks. The refrigerator was not operational. It was warm in the room, but a fan was provided. The bar/receptionist was very nice, but could not provide us with an extra towel as she did not have keys. The maid was extremely nice an assisted us with our luggage the next morning. Staff great! Hotel from the outside looks nice. Definitely needs a reno!

Ground floor room was spacious and well appointed, if noisy at night - no soundproofing and loud voices in the corridor, we will ask for an end of corridor 1st floor room next time. Lounge bar was pleasant and comfortable, smokers catered for with good outside seating. No restaurant as such, only breakfasts and afternoon tea, but no shortage of places to eat in town. Bar well stocked, fair 'hotel prices'. Service and staff all excellent and helpful, welcoming and accommodating.

Like many of the other reviews, this hotel is extremely tired and needs a refurb. It’s confusing when entering the hotel as you’re met with a weird wedding stand with no instruction that reception is actually at the bar. Perhaps appropriate signage at the front door might be clearer than the blue sign they’ve plonked at the bar. ||I had the worst nights sleep in room 125, the mattress was the worst iv ever tried to sleep on. I woke up extremely sore and felt like I’d been hit by a bus. After reading the reviews (after my stay) I notice that another reviewer also stayed in room 125 and has said/thought the exact same as I. Had to laugh when they said they wish they slept in the bath as I also said the same thing in the morning. I mentioned the bed to the receptionist when leaving and she seemed very surprised and said she’s never heard anyone complain about the bed before that’s stayed in that room. I said I found that hard to believe and reading that other review, that’s solidified I’m clearly not the only one that felt like they slept on a bed of concrete. ||The staff are nice but clearly is a lack of them. ||Breakfast was okay but overpriced for what it was. ||I now need to book myself in for a massage to try ease off my back and side. Iv never felt pain like this before! ||I wouldn’t mind the room being a bit tired if the bed was comfy, but my god PLEASE get that mattress changed for the sake of people’s backs! Also if you’re advertising a king size, don’t provide a room that’s two single beds pushed together||The reason for two stars is due to the staff being friendly, however I will definitely not be returning

Absolutely awful experience. I asked for non-feather pillows due to a medical allergy and was told I should have contacted the hotel in advance something that’s nowhere on their website. I travel constantly for work and have never had to make such a request ahead of time. The receptionist was rude, dismissive, and made me feel like I was being unreasonable for asking. I was genuinely close to walking out and finding another hotel. Eventually, she found suitable pillows, but only after making it clear it was a huge inconvenience. I’ve never been made to feel so uncomfortable or embarrassed for requesting a basic medical accommodation. Reading the reviews now, I wish I had done so before booking — clearly this is not a one-off issue. I’ve already told our company’s travel provider to remove this hotel from all future bookings. Avoid.

The location is halfway in between the train station and Castle but all uphill. Very challenging if you have mobility issues and trying to tow luggage. I suggest taking a taxi. Dining options are in the town center which is downhill from the hotel. Nice walk but, again, all hills getting back up to hotel. Hotel bar was pleasant but did not serve food. Hotel serves breakfast only.

A very nice boutique hotel located in the city centre with tourist attractions nearby. My request for a quiet room at the end of hallway was kindly met. Tea, coffee, bottled water and cookies were provided in the room. King size bed was very comfortable. I would stay here again.

Room terrible. Very shabby . Wardrobe nearly fell on husband when he opened door. Beds are falling apart and need to be replaced. Furniture very well used do also needs replacing. Used ironing board was terrible. Carpets are well worn . Bathroom ok until you walk on floor tiles that are not fitted and are cracked. Cut my toe on one and was bleeding when getting out of shower nearly fell due to bath being so high. If you use the complementary shower / body wash / hand gel there is a note that if you wish to buy at a cost if £20 each bottle . So did not use . Lift light not working so when you go in lift it’s pitch black. Tried looking for another hotel but everywhere was fully booked so made sure we stayed out all weekend and just went to sleep in room did not want to stay any longer than had too. Will go back but to hotel next door

Yelp
Not a bad place but not great. Arriving late, we decided to eat in the restaurant. Their selection of beer was minimal. I wanted their pork-chop and was told they were out of them as well as T-bone steaks. So fish and chips it was. Breakfast was fine. I had the Scottish breakfast, wife selected from the continental buffet. We did have to ask twice for bread. Breakfast second morning was also ok, however wife did see ants on one of the buffet tables and the coffee had the consistency of having sat in the pot overnight. When asked for a new cup, they offered hot water to dilute what I had. The room was fine, large enough for us. Only down side was the worn carpet. I can live with that. I'm general, the place has, based on looks and atmosphere, great potential. Unfortunately it looks tired. Staff was mostly young and with the exception of the desk clerk, didn't deal with issues well.

Yelp
Note: This location is prime in the heart of Stirling, 5 min walk to castle, and 3 minutes away from restaurants and bars. Just stayed here one night as I was exploring the country. Wanted to see the heart of the country and Stirling. SO glad I did. Got a fantastic rate on this hotel and it looked gorgeous so I thought Id give it a go. I was not at all disappointed. The location as mentioned was key. It is literally right there. Walk to everything you'd want within minutes. To top it off they had a great restaurant and bar in the lobby. The room was huge and the bathroom spectacular with very modern amenities, a giant glass shower and spa tub. The people were super welcoming and accommodating. I'd absolutely recommend a stay here as it simply could not have been any better.

Yelp
I am writing from my room. Let's start with the good part. The restaurant at dinner is great. Really great. So good the first night we didn't even look around. Breakfast is good, but not great. They lay out the cold stuff and you order your hot stuff from a choice of about 7 entrees. Now the not so good part. Sound control is less than average. You can kind of hear every door. The room was hot and their is of course no AC so you open the window and deal with the parking lot noise. Ventilation in the room is non existent. The bathroom exhaust fan is dampened shut. Caulking around the shower is black from the moisture. Glass on the bathroom door is mostly see-through. Service however is responsive but the staff has limited skills to resolve maintenance issues. I would stay here again despite the need for improvements. Room 128

Yelp
I really love this hotel and have enjoyed been here in the past however I was left disappointed when I group of 12 of us went here for a special birthday celebration dinner. Firstly we couldn't get a drinks order from the bar as the bridal party wanted to take photos at the bar so we were left sitting for over half and hour with no drinks and we despite us being told they would come and take our order we had to ask on a number if occasions for someone to take our order. When we were taken to our table it was the wrong table as we had booked the table just off the main Resturant that they use for Party booking as and we were sat at along rectangle shaped table which meant we couldn't talk to everyone at the table! A couple of us ordered venison and steaks which were all over done, the steak was asked to be cooked medium and we were told the venison was also cooked medium by the chef. There was a large wedding and another large function on at the hotel that day and I couldn't help but feel that we were At the bottom of their lists of priorities that day leaving us all feeling disappointed with our visit on such a special occasion.....
