The hotel is lovely inside and out. It's set in a slightly elevated position within easy walking distance to both the town centre and the castle. Excellent staff who do their best to ensure your stay is as it should be. The room was spotless and has the most comfortable bed ever. The bathroom has one of the deepest baths, which affords the guest a decent soak. More than adequate choices for breakfast. A thoroughly enjoyable experience which we hope to repeat in the not too distant future

The hotel is modern in some areas, but not all. What I liked about this hotel was the wonderful service you got from all the staff from check in to breakfast. I felt the rooms were a bit dated, but it had a proper iron and ironing board which I needed as my packing technique is appalling. The bed felt quite hard when I led on it, but I had a really good night's sleep. Breakfast was very good, I had forgotten how nice it is to treat breakfast like a proper meal. No hot buffet, but table service with a great choice.

Stunning hotel , excellent staff . Very accommodating. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and the bath was very clean. Loved the little shortbread cookies in the room. Staff allowed us to check in early as there was a snow storm and the following day kept our bags after check out so we could explore a little. Exceeded expectations. Breakfast was nice , hot food is ordered and there is a selection of meats, cheeses, juices and fruits.

Main reason for the 3/5 is that the hotels own car parking charge was £15 for 24 hours. As a resident of the hotel for the evening I would have expected parking to be free. The room was small, it was clean and the electric heater warmed the room up nicely. The shower room was modern but could have benefited from a heated towel rail. The staff were friendly and helpful.

On the positive side the staff were all lovely, especially Sam on the bar. The rooms were lovely and very big and the breakfast selection was very good and tasty. However we were there over Christmas. First our Christmas meal was £100 a head which we thought a bit steep as we've been away four Christmas's now at various hotels and it's been around £60 and included either a bottle of wine or Prosecco. Canapés came out at 12.30 and we were seated at 1pm. We had pre ordered three courses a couple of weeks before. I'm very sorry to say I wouldn't have paid £40 for my meal. Pate was okay, Turkey Dinner was the worst I've ever had. The parsnips were rock hard, the turkey slices rolled at the edges. Those who had the Christmas pudding had cold custard. We had ordered a cheese platter for the evening paying £20. We were told it would be enough for four, there were six oatcakes and a small selection of cheese. Sadly very very disappointed. The Colessio is a lovely place to stay and very central.... but not for Christmas.

Rooms need renovated. Much more detailed information is required on the parking facilities at this hotel which are managed by a separate company totally unrelated to the hotel. Watch out for severe penalties if you park for more than 15 minutes. You will pay a 60 pound fine for exceeding the grace period if you have not paid your 15 pound parking fee which apparently requires an app to be downloaded in order to pay. (This you will find out later on once you leave the premises and receive your compounded fine in the post) if you fail to pay that within 14 days you will then be summoned for 100 pounds up to a cap of 160 at which point they will send you a solicitors letter. There are many more much better options to stay in Stirling and I would highly recommend you avoid this hotel if possible unless you wish to pay an extra nights charges in parking fines.

Hotel lovely unfortunately lots of issues ran out of draft lagers tenants and Stella on Friday evening still not fixed when leaving Monday, no restaurant available for whole weekend, only one staff member on breakfast duties taking room number filling coffee tea orange juice buffet meals and hot breakfast meals order and delivery to tables so long delays to access breakfast areas, on requests to speak to a manager informed no one on duty all weekend and still on management to deal with issues on Sunday evening. If you are visiting stay away from this hotel as we feel they do not care about customers last morning breakfast no Lorne sausage no orange juice as they had run out on a positive note very well done to the night porter who looked after my disabled partner when she went downstairs during the night for fresh air.

I don't know why people give this place poor reviews. We had a spacious room, and our dog was treated like royalty. We could walk to the castle, old jail and restaurants. The guests who stay at the hotel are also dog lovers and really friendly. We had a great time and it was a good value.

Yelp
Not a bad place but not great. Arriving late, we decided to eat in the restaurant. Their selection of beer was minimal. I wanted their pork-chop and was told they were out of them as well as T-bone steaks. So fish and chips it was. Breakfast was fine. I had the Scottish breakfast, wife selected from the continental buffet. We did have to ask twice for bread. Breakfast second morning was also ok, however wife did see ants on one of the buffet tables and the coffee had the consistency of having sat in the pot overnight. When asked for a new cup, they offered hot water to dilute what I had. The room was fine, large enough for us. Only down side was the worn carpet. I can live with that. I'm general, the place has, based on looks and atmosphere, great potential. Unfortunately it looks tired. Staff was mostly young and with the exception of the desk clerk, didn't deal with issues well.

Yelp
Note: This location is prime in the heart of Stirling, 5 min walk to castle, and 3 minutes away from restaurants and bars. Just stayed here one night as I was exploring the country. Wanted to see the heart of the country and Stirling. SO glad I did. Got a fantastic rate on this hotel and it looked gorgeous so I thought Id give it a go. I was not at all disappointed. The location as mentioned was key. It is literally right there. Walk to everything you'd want within minutes. To top it off they had a great restaurant and bar in the lobby. The room was huge and the bathroom spectacular with very modern amenities, a giant glass shower and spa tub. The people were super welcoming and accommodating. I'd absolutely recommend a stay here as it simply could not have been any better.

Yelp
I am writing from my room. Let's start with the good part. The restaurant at dinner is great. Really great. So good the first night we didn't even look around. Breakfast is good, but not great. They lay out the cold stuff and you order your hot stuff from a choice of about 7 entrees. Now the not so good part. Sound control is less than average. You can kind of hear every door. The room was hot and their is of course no AC so you open the window and deal with the parking lot noise. Ventilation in the room is non existent. The bathroom exhaust fan is dampened shut. Caulking around the shower is black from the moisture. Glass on the bathroom door is mostly see-through. Service however is responsive but the staff has limited skills to resolve maintenance issues. I would stay here again despite the need for improvements. Room 128

Yelp
I really love this hotel and have enjoyed been here in the past however I was left disappointed when I group of 12 of us went here for a special birthday celebration dinner. Firstly we couldn't get a drinks order from the bar as the bridal party wanted to take photos at the bar so we were left sitting for over half and hour with no drinks and we despite us being told they would come and take our order we had to ask on a number if occasions for someone to take our order. When we were taken to our table it was the wrong table as we had booked the table just off the main Resturant that they use for Party booking as and we were sat at along rectangle shaped table which meant we couldn't talk to everyone at the table! A couple of us ordered venison and steaks which were all over done, the steak was asked to be cooked medium and we were told the venison was also cooked medium by the chef. There was a large wedding and another large function on at the hotel that day and I couldn't help but feel that we were At the bottom of their lists of priorities that day leaving us all feeling disappointed with our visit on such a special occasion.....
