Room had threadbare carpets a vinyl based bed which was dated and peeling Stained dated furniture Mirror in bathroom cracked and sanitary waste and bath mismatched We complained immediately told they were full ( we were there for 3 nights ) were moved the next day after asking for the manager . The manager wasn’t available apparently We went for breakfast and after asking for to be served …. we ordered food …. It never came so we ended up getting a refund for that The service is poor I received a mail from the hotel manager asking for comments on our stay which I think was an automated mail We had asked twice forthe hotel manager to call prior but never got one I sent our comments how disappointing our stay was as the decor was beautiful downstairs the service wasn’t good Sent photos of the initial room and requested a refund for the one night we stayed in it only to be told no “ you stayed in the room 2 nights “ which was a lie we only stayed in it the first night as no alternative accommodation could be found If we could have found something else we would It’s sad really as the location is good the decor when you enter is beautiful and after being moved from the initial terrible room the other bedroom we had for the following two nights was nice All I all I wouldn’t go back

We stayed in this hotel 5 years ago during covid time and had a much better experience then. We expected and were let down. First of all you have to pay for parking, its a 2nd hand company that owns the parking area. We arrived at 6pm to check in, its £10 for 24 hours which is a decent price however we arnt using our full 24 hohrs. The option is either 1 hour/6 hours or 24, nothing inbetween. The building on the outside is stunning however once you get inside its dreary and clearly needing a pick me up. Before the reception was just as you entered. It's not situated at the bar with a neon blue sign above the bar saying "reception" however we were not made aware that this was the reception for the hotel when you first enter the building. The poo bartender also works the checkin desk so was jumping between serving customers to people checking into the hotel. The lift and hall to our room was covered in leaves and dirt. The place is needing a huge clean! There was a storm this weekend however surely not that far into the hotel. Our room was small however my husband checked his booking and it stated "king size room" the basin in the bathroom is huge so everything we sat on the edge fell into the sink. The shower/bath was really high up and we had to climb into it holding onto the walls as there was nothing to support us climbing in, I did appreciate the bottles of shower gel etc as we didn't bring our own. Breakfast was a disappointment. Our previous stay we were offered a hot option. This time its continental only. There is plenty of choice however I was really disappointed, bagels with ham and cheese were stale. There was toast, cereal, yogurt and carrot cake available. I left feeling hungry. The restaurant was also closed at night time so no option for dinner ||I unfortunately dont think ill stay here again as it was disappointment after disappointment

We stayed for three nights in a King delux room in September 2025. The staff were very good. They worked hard and were very polite. The first room we were in while big was looking very worn. After the first night the toilet would not refill to flush. We advised the reception at 9.30am when we left to explore. We came back in the early afternoon to find it still wasn’t working and advised them again. We went out again and when we got back it was still not working and was advised maintenance had gone home. Consequently the young man managed to change our room. It was also very worn particularly the carpet. The breakfast was the worst we had in the 5 weeks we’d already had in the uk. We couldn’t even drink the coffee as it had no flavour. The only saving grace for this hotel is it’s in a great position to explore the castle and surrounds on foot. The sad thing is it could be great if the owners invested some money into maintenance and a decent breakfast.

Not a great experience, Been staying for five days no hot breakfast as the kitchen is broken, no elevator to the second floor it’s all stairs. On the first night they run out of beer at the bar after pulling just a couple of pints and couldn’t get any more. Amazingly you have to pay for Coffee at breakfast if you want anything other than crap coffee from a jug. I’m sure there’s going to be better places to stay in the Sterling area. My recommendation would be to avoid this one.

What a beautiful building from the outside! Both the bedroom and bathroom were very spacious. The shower was great, but that's all that was to like about it. This hotel could really do with some TLC. |The light in the lift wasn't working so it was dark inside. The bed was damaged and very uncomfortable, the carpet was worn and the walls could do with a lick of paint.|Thankfully we found a fan in the wardrobe as the room was incredibly hot even though the weather wasn't great. |The chairs in the restaurant were awful and the windowsills could do with a good clean. |We received a warm welcome and waiters at breakfast were friendly too. Continental buffet with two options for a hot breakfast made to order. I enjoyed it apart from the scrambled egg which was very watery. |

The room is lovely! While it lacks in ac, I don't think that's generally a problem outside of atypical heat waves. My room has been quiet, spacious, the staff have been lovely, and the location is fantastic with great access to the rail and various venues.

A real disappointment. On arrival no one obvious to welcome you reception was off to the left at the bar and one poor member was busy multitasking at both jobs. The outside space looks like an afterthought as does the cleanliness of the area. Breakfast is not even worth a mention i would have had better presentation, choice and cost at Wetherspoons 50 yards down the road.

Google
A well placed hotel perfectly placed, lets it self down with the past its best bed and room furniture which desperately needs replacing. Continental breakfast only as the kitchen had no gas! This could be a great hotel but currently falls short of quality which is bettered even by a Premier inn.

Yelp
Not a bad place but not great. Arriving late, we decided to eat in the restaurant. Their selection of beer was minimal. I wanted their pork-chop and was told they were out of them as well as T-bone steaks. So fish and chips it was. Breakfast was fine. I had the Scottish breakfast, wife selected from the continental buffet. We did have to ask twice for bread. Breakfast second morning was also ok, however wife did see ants on one of the buffet tables and the coffee had the consistency of having sat in the pot overnight. When asked for a new cup, they offered hot water to dilute what I had. The room was fine, large enough for us. Only down side was the worn carpet. I can live with that. I'm general, the place has, based on looks and atmosphere, great potential. Unfortunately it looks tired. Staff was mostly young and with the exception of the desk clerk, didn't deal with issues well.

Yelp
Note: This location is prime in the heart of Stirling, 5 min walk to castle, and 3 minutes away from restaurants and bars. Just stayed here one night as I was exploring the country. Wanted to see the heart of the country and Stirling. SO glad I did. Got a fantastic rate on this hotel and it looked gorgeous so I thought Id give it a go. I was not at all disappointed. The location as mentioned was key. It is literally right there. Walk to everything you'd want within minutes. To top it off they had a great restaurant and bar in the lobby. The room was huge and the bathroom spectacular with very modern amenities, a giant glass shower and spa tub. The people were super welcoming and accommodating. I'd absolutely recommend a stay here as it simply could not have been any better.

Yelp
I am writing from my room. Let's start with the good part. The restaurant at dinner is great. Really great. So good the first night we didn't even look around. Breakfast is good, but not great. They lay out the cold stuff and you order your hot stuff from a choice of about 7 entrees. Now the not so good part. Sound control is less than average. You can kind of hear every door. The room was hot and their is of course no AC so you open the window and deal with the parking lot noise. Ventilation in the room is non existent. The bathroom exhaust fan is dampened shut. Caulking around the shower is black from the moisture. Glass on the bathroom door is mostly see-through. Service however is responsive but the staff has limited skills to resolve maintenance issues. I would stay here again despite the need for improvements. Room 128

Yelp
I really love this hotel and have enjoyed been here in the past however I was left disappointed when I group of 12 of us went here for a special birthday celebration dinner. Firstly we couldn't get a drinks order from the bar as the bridal party wanted to take photos at the bar so we were left sitting for over half and hour with no drinks and we despite us being told they would come and take our order we had to ask on a number if occasions for someone to take our order. When we were taken to our table it was the wrong table as we had booked the table just off the main Resturant that they use for Party booking as and we were sat at along rectangle shaped table which meant we couldn't talk to everyone at the table! A couple of us ordered venison and steaks which were all over done, the steak was asked to be cooked medium and we were told the venison was also cooked medium by the chef. There was a large wedding and another large function on at the hotel that day and I couldn't help but feel that we were At the bottom of their lists of priorities that day leaving us all feeling disappointed with our visit on such a special occasion.....
