If you’re planning a trip to Stirling and want somewhere central, comfortable, and quietly elegant, Hotel Colessio is a superb shout. You’re minutes from Stirling Castle, the Old Town Jail, the Tolbooth, and all the winding lanes that make this part of the city so atmospheric. Everything is walkable, and the hotel sits just far enough from the bustle to feel peaceful. The bedrooms are genuinely impressive. Large, comfortable, and well‑equipped, with everything you need for a proper weekend away: Cupboards and storage, Tea and coffee station, Hairdryer, Safe and Plenty of space to spread out. They’re also dog‑friendly, which is a huge win if you’re travelling with a four‑legged pal. But the real star? The view. From many of the rooms you get an epic, straight‑on look at the Wallace Monument rising above the landscape in the distance. Hotel Colessio is currently a bed‑and‑breakfast‑only stay, but they’ve recently introduced Sunday roasts in their 1825 restaurant And they're not overly expensive, especially for its location and the size of the rooms. The average nightly rate tends to sit around £100–£150 per night, depending on the season, very reasonable for a boutique stay in a historic Scottish city. For the comfort, the views, the calm atmosphere, and the proximity to everything Stirling has to offer, it’s excellent value.

It was noted that investment in the Collesio is evident from previous stays showing upgrading of bedrooms and progressive internal redecoration. We were very happy with our room and a great night’s comfortable sleep.The parking fee has been reduced to £10 for 24 hours which is a welcome reduction on the previous £15 and acceptable considering prime location. All staff were friendly, efficient and motivated. Delighted that the hot buffet breakfast has been replaced with full Scottish breakfast table service with continental buffet; upgrade menu free to direct reservations. Great that investment is being made in this lovely hotel in a prime Stirling location to restore it to a high standard. We’ll be back again!

Pleasant hotel lobely staff nice clean. My only negative thing was our room had recently just been painted and it smelled of fresh paint quiet strong the hotels really warm so we just opened our window amd it was all good! Would stay again. Lovely breakfast also! Although a coffee machine would have been nice!

Cons: One bad experience. My room fridge complimentary water were already used when we came to the room. However when I called to reception to get it changed, they didn’t pickup. Next morning after breakfast, I went to reception to get another set of water and explained how cleaners may have forgotten to replace in my room before I checked in, however the experience was not the best. She told me that they check every room after cleaning, meaning I must be lying. She did give me new water but made me feel I am lying for free water. I offered to pay for it but she said no need. I don’t think they should make their guests feel cheater and liars for just water. My review is still 5 star cause one staff shouldn’t be responsible for lower ratings. Pros: 5 star for the boy in breakfast area serving: amazing job. Catered to my Vegetarian needs. Very helpful The night staff was nice as well. She was accommodating. Rooms are fine as well.

The hotel is a great place. Parking is convenient at a cost but not unreasonable. Reception was very efficient and quick, we upgraded to a deluxe king which was great. All the facilities are spot on and a great touch was the deicer in reception, it was very cold. Breakfast was really good, nice variety, very tasty with excellent service. Handy for all the sights and good restaurants.

Last minute deal for an overnight in Stirling, and I would definitely return! Great service, attentive staff. Room was cosy, and had everything you needed. Bed was really comfortable! Breakfast excellent! Highly recommended.

We are very regular visitors to Stirling and have stayed at the Colessio a number of times. The staff are really nice and friendly and its central to everything.|However,my partner and I took my son and his girlfriend overnight as a treat. We had a great night in town and checked out as standard next day.|The following day (Monday) I had £20 taken from my account. I called and the girl said it would be checked and she'd call back. Following Friday after no call I called again and was told this was due to one of the toiletry items being missing from the room. |I asked my son how many items were in the bathroom. He said 3, as he put the handsoap on the sink from the windowsill. There was one loo roll. We had 4 toiletry bottles in our room/2 loo rolls so clearly there's inconsistency in servicing the rooms but we'd to pay £20 for a £3- ish bottle which wasn't there to begin with. |After emailing the hotel of this they responded (after a chaser email) saying the money had been refunded but had the issue been raised at the time it would have been resolved at the time. How does that work? Should we all be checking the inventory of the rooms for discrepancies? Just a shame it marred an otherwise lovely overnight and makes you rethink your hotel choice.

The location was perfect. Stirling is such a beautiful city. The view was amazing. The staff was so kind and friendly. Eilidh was splendid at the bar. The rooms were pretty good. The carpet was very worn and the bathroom sink looked like someone tried to sit on it, so it was cracked and coming from the wall. That said it worked just fine and was not an inconvenience. The bed was very comfortable and all the amenities were well stocked and abundant. Oh and the bathroom soaps are so nice I want to get them for home. Thank you very much. ❤️

Not a bad place but not great. Arriving late, we decided to eat in the restaurant. Their selection of beer was minimal. I wanted their pork-chop and was told they were out of them as well as T-bone steaks. So fish and chips it was. Breakfast was fine. I had the Scottish breakfast, wife selected from the continental buffet. We did have to ask twice for bread. Breakfast second morning was also ok, however wife did see ants on one of the buffet tables and the coffee had the consistency of having sat in the pot overnight. When asked for a new cup, they offered hot water to dilute what I had. The room was fine, large enough for us. Only down side was the worn carpet. I can live with that. I'm general, the place has, based on looks and atmosphere, great potential. Unfortunately it looks tired. Staff was mostly young and with the exception of the desk clerk, didn't deal with issues well.

Note: This location is prime in the heart of Stirling, 5 min walk to castle, and 3 minutes away from restaurants and bars. Just stayed here one night as I was exploring the country. Wanted to see the heart of the country and Stirling. SO glad I did. Got a fantastic rate on this hotel and it looked gorgeous so I thought Id give it a go. I was not at all disappointed. The location as mentioned was key. It is literally right there. Walk to everything you'd want within minutes. To top it off they had a great restaurant and bar in the lobby. The room was huge and the bathroom spectacular with very modern amenities, a giant glass shower and spa tub. The people were super welcoming and accommodating. I'd absolutely recommend a stay here as it simply could not have been any better.

I am writing from my room. Let's start with the good part. The restaurant at dinner is great. Really great. So good the first night we didn't even look around. Breakfast is good, but not great. They lay out the cold stuff and you order your hot stuff from a choice of about 7 entrees. Now the not so good part. Sound control is less than average. You can kind of hear every door. The room was hot and their is of course no AC so you open the window and deal with the parking lot noise. Ventilation in the room is non existent. The bathroom exhaust fan is dampened shut. Caulking around the shower is black from the moisture. Glass on the bathroom door is mostly see-through. Service however is responsive but the staff has limited skills to resolve maintenance issues. I would stay here again despite the need for improvements. Room 128

I really love this hotel and have enjoyed been here in the past however I was left disappointed when I group of 12 of us went here for a special birthday celebration dinner. Firstly we couldn't get a drinks order from the bar as the bridal party wanted to take photos at the bar so we were left sitting for over half and hour with no drinks and we despite us being told they would come and take our order we had to ask on a number if occasions for someone to take our order. When we were taken to our table it was the wrong table as we had booked the table just off the main Resturant that they use for Party booking as and we were sat at along rectangle shaped table which meant we couldn't talk to everyone at the table! A couple of us ordered venison and steaks which were all over done, the steak was asked to be cooked medium and we were told the venison was also cooked medium by the chef. There was a large wedding and another large function on at the hotel that day and I couldn't help but feel that we were At the bottom of their lists of priorities that day leaving us all feeling disappointed with our visit on such a special occasion.....
