Google
I would rate this hotel 3.5. The location is fantastic, and the service was mostly excellent. The restaurant serves good food and the rooftop bar has a beautiful view. Most rooms have a balcony which is great. On the other hand, the hotel lacks the amenities normally found at 5 star hotels like a pool and gym, it's really more of a 4 star hotel. The rooms while mostly sound proof from other rooms are not sound proof from the halls, so you can get lots of noise when housekeeping is busy. There are wooden blinds in front of the balcony door that don't work very well so some light can come through. Their checkout policy is also unusual at 11 am when most hotels have check out at 12, and they are inflexible about it and may charge you as well if they permit extra hours. I would suggest staying at another hotel and just visiting their rooftop bar.

Google
We had an excellent stay at the Lamaro. The hotel is very centrally located in the Gothic quarter and you can get anywhere on foot. The lobby is beautiful. The room was a bit sparse, but that was fine. We had an issue with a smoker on our hallway and the hotel addressed it. The breakfast buffet was typical of European hotels. The bell staff were the highlight of the hotel - super friendly and helpful and on our last day drove us to the train station in the hotel car on the house. Overall we would stay here again if we wanted to be in the Gothic quarter.

Google
Rooftop review only: nice view, but poor customer service. You will be welcomed at the entrance and asked to pay €4 for entrance per person. On the rooftop, the waiter forced us to order a drink for each of us, despite the fact that we ordered a bottle of water to share and enjoy the view of the Barcelona Cathedral. Consider different rooftops

Google
Wonderful 2 night stay. The room and bathroom were large and bright. Beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. The breakfast was very good and offered many choices. The personnel were friendly and helpful. Thumbs up to the door men who greeted us coming and going. Good location, we walked everywhere. Very pleased with our stay.

Google
We can't say enough about the Wonderful Experience we had at the Lamaro Hotel Barcelona!! Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff went above and beyond!!! Great location...Beautiful views...Enjoyed rooftop restaurant... and Amazing Breakfast Buffet. I don't think we could find a better place to stay in this beautiful city! We will Definitely come back!!!

Google
They charged 4 euros each to get in and even charged for the baby. Asked for physical menus; they said they didn’t have any, but I saw some at the next table, so I borrowed one briefly. Nobody came back to take the order, so I went to the bar to order. Got my drink but before taking a sip of my beer they asked us to pay. We said we were planning to have more drinks, but the rude waiters said it didn’t matter—we had to pay immediately. If you want to spend over 30 euros before even sipping your beer that your choice. If you expect good service and a nice drink, probably this is not your place. Manager needs to retrain their staff

Google
I came here for the rooftop view of the cathedral, which is admittedly unique. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The service is deeply lacking, and the attitude from staff is frankly insulting. The place is run by pretentious staff who seem more interested in flexing authority than offering hospitality. I watched one of them yell at a guest for simply taking a photo, accusing them of being in the way, despite there being plenty of space to walk by. It wasn’t a misunderstanding, it was deliberate arrogance. Avoid and go elsewhere if you value being treated with basic respect and prefer a positive environment to enjoy the view.

Google
Perfect hotel for our 2 day stay following our cruise. Location was perfect, staff is helpful and friendly, and the roof top bar dinner and drinks was a bonus. As promised, as guest we got an immediate table up front. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay again in the future!

Yelp
Great hotel in a great location- best part is rooftop bar view as well as the staff. They were very nice and accommodating to our family- will stay again next time in Barcelona and highly recommend!

Yelp
First time in Europe ever, touchdown Barcelona. Hotel Colón set the bar high as far as first impressions of a city replete with gothic architecture, savory tapas, and rhythmic flamenco. What led me to book this hotel over others was its prime location -- in the heart of Gothic Quarter and right in front of the Catedral de Barcelona, which was awe-inspiring every time I stepped foot outside. No need to book the room with the view either. As other reviewers have stated, there is an quintessential rooftop terrace bar which provides a beautiful view of the cathedral. Wait for an unhindered table and enjoy that instagrammable view. Worth it for a few drinks, not necessarily for the food. However, the hotel breakfast buffet served downstairs is the BEST! Out of all the hotel breakfasts we encountered on our Euro trip, Hotel Colón had the number one spread -- a vast selection of meats, cheeses, sandwiches, fruits, yogurt, salad, and hot foods such as empanadas and sausages, complete with fresh juices and espressos. And a mimosa bar, too? Yes. As for the room, it's clean and modern. Surprisingly spacious with a seating nook. Rain shower in the bathroom and great water pressure. Double twin bed comfortable. And a welcome gift! The employees were all so attentive and friendly. We went in February, so I forgot all the names now, but the doormen always greeted you, helped with luggage, and even took us to the airport (this amenity is not standard, it depends on availability). Overall, excellent stay. Thank you!

Yelp
This review is for the rooftop bar. You do not need to be a guest of the hotel to go up there and there are no reservations. It has the perfect view of the cathedral, so it is a hot spot to visit. We ended up getting in line for the rooftop around 3pm on a Saturday and were seated in about 20 minutes. The rooftop was smaller than I thought but it did not take away from the views. The menu is mostly tapas and drinks so don't try to get full unless you order a lot. I got the avocado toast and a salad with the sangria. It was the perfect midday snack with a beautiful view.

Yelp
The Terrace at the Colon hotel was so beautiful. It offered breathtaking views of the City of Barcelona. They do not accept reservations but you can wait in line to be accommodated if they have availability. Their menu was limited and offered mostly tapas. The chicken salad was fresh and filing. It was paired well with a glass of Sangria.

Yelp
A perfect post cruise hotel. Beautiful room, the best breakfast buffet, friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay again.

Yelp
The location couldn't be better -- which is supremely important for travelers visiting Barcelona. The rooftop terrace had beautiful views but it was pretty packed up there at all times. More of a bar vibe than I anticipated. What we were most thrilled about was the breakfast that's included in your reservation... HOLY SMOKES... It was actually one of the best breakfasts we had during our entire Europe trip! The only bummer about this hotel was that the spa/sauna was under construction and it was a big reason why I chose this spot over other options in the area -- however the website didn't mention that this was not available at the time of reservation. PS: One more thing I think is important for me to mention... if you're looking for a chill relaxing rooftop pool, this isn't the spot. The pool is about 1 foot deep of water and it's right in the middle of the roof top terrace bar. Not really an ideal loungey pool area whatsoever. So if that's super important to you, this ain't it.

Corina T.

Yelp
sorry to say, the staff that seated us was really rude and raise his voice at us over his miscommunication with the waiters. He also let us waited for some time while he was chit chatting with others and laughing away. The other waiters are really kind and helpful and overall the view is nice. The sangria is not that great and needs to add 5 euros per glass. Overall not a good experience.

Yelp
My husband and I are very impressed with Hotel Colon. The room is beautiful and the beds are comfortable. Which after traveling for three weeks a good bed is much appreciated ! The private terrace is breathtaking and features views of the Barcelona Cathedral. Location is perfect and we are fortunate to be here during the Christmas market, located steps away from the hotel. We look forward to coming back next year!

Yelp
We just returned from five nights at Hotel Colón, and couldn't be happier with our experience! What a welcome taste of comfort and hospitality, especially when extreme heat and the summer crowds left us pretty spent at the end of each day. Highlights included the rain shower, cathedral/plaza view, and that breakfast buffet! Thanks to Serguei, Olga, and the rest of the team for their kind service.

Yelp
After a two day stay here, these are my observations. The staff is both friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is the best I've ever had in a hotel, and I've stayed at many. Everything is fine at a highly professional manner. It's location is perfect for seeing the sights in Barcelona.

Yelp
Price - 4/5 I stayed 7 nights for $160/night. Hotel Colon is priced around 30-50% higher than surrounding hotels in the area because of the location (directly in front of Barcelona Cathedral). I think normal price for the room with a view is $215-260 depending on season. -1 point because I wish it was cheaper. Location - 5/5 The next reason why I chose to try this hotel. Everything was almost within walking distance. Restaurants, bars, sights, activities. Metro/Train is less than 10 mins walk. Plus, if you booked the room with view, you'll wake up seeing the beautiful Barcelona Cathedral daily. Hotel Room - 4/5 Bed was extremely comfortable. Soft but not too soft, it has just the right support for a good nights sleep. Plenty of comfortable pillows as well. Room was extremely dark when you close curtains, which is good for deep sleep. Waterfall shower had good pressure and was really nice and refreshing after a whole day of exploring the city. Also has a mini work desk for business travelers. Comes with a mini fridge which was extremely cold, perfect for storing champagne/wine/snacks. Room was a bit small but that's to be expected in a prime area like Gothic Quarter. Internet speed was stable and fast, I didn't have any issues working while in the room. -1 point because TV was 32" and didn't have Google Chrome so I couldn't connect my phone for Netflix. Amenities - 4/5 Has a beautiful rooftop bar overlooking the Barcelona Cathedral. Perfect for social gatherings or a spicy date You also have access to a pool, which was still overlooking the Barcelona Cathedral. Bar was usually packed at night as many people wanted to enjoy the view. Drinks were priced reasonably at around €9/drink. -1 point because they don't have a gym. Food No rating since I haven't tried their breakfast buffet. I browsed and selections looked "decent". Priced at €20-25 I think. I decided to get daily breakfast outside from local cafes and La Boqueria Market. ‍ Overall Rating - 4/5 If you have a budget of $200/night for staying at a hotel. This is one of the top picks in the Gothic Quarter area (perfect for 1st time travelers to Barcelona). Good balance of price, location and comfort. If my review helped you somehow, please like/thumbs up this review so other people can also see it and help them. Thank you and enjoy your stay in Barcelona! PS If my review helped you somehow, please like/mark as helpful this review so other people can also see it and help them. Thank you and enjoy your stay in Barcelona!

Yelp
Visited the rooftop bar today and received awful service from a very rude and stand-offish server. We had ordered drinks, received them and were immediately handed the check to which he tapped with his finger expectantly. Didn't ask if we possibly wanted another drink or food. The view is nice but honestly out of all the rooftop bars in BCN I wouldn't ever come back.
google avatar

Phuongngan B.

Yelp
Come to the rooftop for the best views of the cathedral during the afternoon or sunset. If they're open in the evening, this is the best way to have a drink, people watch, and enjoy live music from performers busking in the square. The city also hosts and organizes concerts across the street . If you're looking for privacy, decent drinks, and a great view, Hotel Colon's rooftop bar is the perfect spot to hang out for a few hours. You don't have to be a guest to visit the rooftop bar.

Yelp
I booked into the Hotel Colon which seemed like a pleasant enough place with a good location. Upon arriving at my room I wanted to rest a little to get over jet lag. I heard noises coming from a nearby room and assumed it was a bit of work to repair something. The work continued and increased in volume with drilling, hammering, and scraping without let up. I went to the front desk to ask how long this would continue and was told there was work in progress. I asked why this was not disclosed prior to my booking or upon arrival and got no answer. I asked to speak with the manager and was told she was getting out of a meeting and would I wait in the lobby, which I agreed to do. After about five or more minutes of waiting I decided to go back to my room where the noise and work continued. Receiving no call from the manager after sometime I began to search on line for another hotel and found a nice one around the corner (Hotel Barcelona Catedral). I repacked my bags and went down to reception where the manger was now speaking to the desk clerk. I told the clerk I was checking out and did not expect to be billed for the room. The manger gave a half-hearted apology and said there was renovation of the hotel in progress. (You could hear the noise at the reception desk as well). I asked why I was not informed of this in advance and again received no answer. I asked how long the work would continue during the day and was astounded to be told from 10:00 - 17:00hrs each day. I asked where she receive her hotel management training and was told the hotel was privately owned (not by a corporation). I again reiterated that I was not to be billed for the room and checked out. The bellmen assisted with the bags and refused a tip. They were very sympathetic and kind. The manager never offered to help me find a hotel, offer transportation or any compensation. The bellmen should be running the hotel - not the management.

Yelp
Loved this hotel! The location is perfect and because there is a town square in front of it no traffic comes through. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is amazing. Great customer service , comfortable beds and a great night life around it. There are cabs that you can get next to it and the subway is just a couple blocks away. Highly recommend

Yelp
We live to travel. This hotel is just amazing. We had Juliet balcony facing Cathedral. The beds were comfy, we kept the balcony doors open to be serenaded to sleep each night by street violin players...absolutely divine. We awakened to the view of the beautiful Cathedral. Location spot on. The breakfast was beyond all expectations...DELICIOUS and plentiful. The staff was welcoming and very helpful. But the best part of staying here was their honesty and integrity!! I left my purse in the safe. I didn't even realize it until the next day unpacking...I called the hotel and they sent me my purse in the 10 day delivery time...ALL INTACT! Nothing was missing!! I cried relief! I found this gem and I plan to come only here the next time. I fell in love with the place my grandfather was raised. Beautiful! Thank you to the staff, especially the maid who brought my purse to safety. I wish I knew who she was.

Yelp
What a fantastic hotel! Best location what across the street from the cathedral steps from las rambles rd. 3 min walk to the Boqueria, and everywhere else. I will be recommending this place as I plan to stay here again. They offer on site breakfast for $22 which includes champagne as well. Food was tasted. The staff here is extremely helpful and very welcoming! Thank u hotel colon!!

Yelp
The hotel is old-world charming, but with modern touches we all find necessary. It sits right on a town square that was bursting with life. Our room was immaculate, the staff attentive, and the included breakfast extremely good. It's situated in the old town portion of Barcelona and has so much within walking distance. We used this as a pre-cruise hotel, but ended up appreciating it for the charm. The staff was very accommodating and warm.

Yelp
This was my first trip to Barcelona and wanted to find a place that I would be immersed in all of Barcelonas glory. I found it with Hotel Colon. It was in a terrific location, the hotel and room was clean, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful in all aspects. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. They really helped make my trip a memorable one.

Yelp
i wish i could give you no stars at all in order to write my review. i really appreciate all the bad reviews because thanks to that i am definitely not staying here. people complained about your bad sewage smell, complaint about bugs and smoke smell in your rooms, i've seen a review that you guys purposely went inside a guest's room and took out their bed because you needed it for another room, even tho their personal stuff was still inside the room. what type of hotel is this???? that not only dont care about their guests health by not providing a better room with no toxic disgusting sewage smell but also put their private belongings in jeopardy by coming in without the guest's permission???? this is outrageous!! i will definitely not book with you guys. and i am more than sure that all of your good reviews are fake. there are more bad reviews that you actually show on your yelp page. so everyone, do yourselves a favor and check the real reviews on google, online, tripadvisor, reddit and not only yelp because they are easily hiding the real bad reviews.

Yelp
Home run. Perfect location, right across the plaza from the Cathedral of Barcelona. Easy walking distance to shopping, dining and transportation. We had gorgeous views from our balcony and even more from the hotel's rooftop bar. (Which fills up quickly). Rooms were super clean even had a Nespresso machine. Their restaurant is good, at least for tapas and drinks, which is what we had. The staff was helpful and even helped us arrange our COVID testing for the flight home. If I ever come back to Barcelona, and I hope I do, I'll stay here for sure.

Jan S.

Yelp
We can't say enough good things about this hotel and the staff, Jaime and Sclouei (I'm sure I got the spelling wrong), we're exceptionally accommodating. We were a party of 14 and they always made time to make sure we were taken care of. The roof top bar is very popular these days, but guests have priority. There are tons of things to do and places to eat close to the hotel. Would definitely recommend and would book again!

Kristin N.

Yelp
The first night we were here, I woke up to a literal colony of ants crawling across my things and towards my bed. I called the front desk who seemed unconcerned and did not even apologize. They only said "we will spray the room when you leave". I was not happy with this and asked for a room change, I'm assuming you can imaging it's uncomfortable to stay in a room where there was such an infestation. Again very unapologetic, no offer to change rooms, I had to ask several times for a room change. No offer of any kind of compensation for this inconvenience and having to change rooms which made us late for a very expensive tour. We literally had to run. The room was changed quickly which we appreciated, however the walls of the bathroom were filthy and the corners near the toilet as well. We have heard almost non stop banging from the floor above, furniture moving at all hours. We also had unfriendly rude service at the rooftop bar. Staff was stand-off and seemed like they didn't want us to be there. It was not busy at all.

Yelp
June 2021 post-Covid reopening. 2 New Yorkers spending my 40th birthday in beautiful Barcelona and I had to choose a nice 4-star hotel that was 1. Nice enough to impress my girlfriend, 2. Very centrally located, 3. Had an excellent rooftop terrace. I decided on Hotel Colón based on other positive reviews, and it was absolutely perfect! It's the ideal location, on a gorgeous little alcove of the old gothic quarter. Nearly all the best places in Barcelona are within a 15 minute walk, and you're right in the center. The rooftop was also outstanding, 7th and 8th floor terraces right next to the stunning Cathedral de la Seu, with perfect panoramic views from La Sagrada Familia to the ocean and Montjuïc. In the guests-only section of the roof there is a shallow but nice party pool, deck chairs, and sauna. The hotel itself was just perfect, the lobby and room had a lovely classic style and all was spotlessly clean. And a first rate staff! Everyone from front, dining, and housekeeping staff were all very friendly, professional, and everyone spoke English well. The king bed was comfortable and the walls/windows thick enough to block out the church bells and activity in the plaza below. We had the basic Design room, which looked great. The bathroom had a rain shower and detachable shower head, hair dryer and lit makeup mirror, plush robes and slippers. There were doors on the bathroom and shower, everything was as an American would expect. Our little balcony had a nice view of the public square below and complimentary wine was waiting in the room. To the last detail we could not have had a better experience. There was a promotion at the time to get free breakfast when you booked directly, this was a great deal. The breakfast spread was excellent, far above American hotel standards. We had one lunch and wine on the roof which was also quite good and not expensive. Overall these two spoiled and well- travelled New Yorkers give Hotel Colón an A+. I wish I was there right now!

Yelp
A group of six stayed three nights in Hotel Colón, Rooms 606, 607 and 118. The hotel was wonderful, clean, with very good service from all staff. The elevators and rooms on the first floor The hotel's location in the Gothic Quarter is, I think, one of the best in Barcelona. I plan on returning in the future, and recommend Hotel Colón whole heartedly. Five Stars.

Yelp
My daughter just checked out and the service here was amazing. She is young and traveling alone. They helped with everything from finding helping order in food, laundry service, and making sure she had a very early taxi who even came inside to help with bags. Truly helpful staff!
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful hotel and a great location. The staff is very helpful and welcoming . Only one complaint. The first set of espresso pods are included you have to pay for the for any additional pods. Not really a big deal but just thought I would mention it.

Yelp
So glad we chose this hotel with a great location in town. You can see from my pics the beautiful views from our room and from rooftop. The lobby looked very nice and checking was a breeze. We arrived early so room not yet available so they kept them while we walked around and had lunch. The plaza in front of the Hotel is nice and when walking the alleys around the church many nice shops. Room was comfortable even in the hot days with a corner view of plaza and church. The roof had a small pool, if you call it that. But the views are worth a visit if your hear.

Le D.

Yelp
Overall dissatisfied. After 8 days in Barcelona Hotel Colón had the least Catalonian based tapas than anywhere we visited. It was a menu for Americans. Very disappointing.

Claire R.

Yelp
I was excited to try this place because of the views of the Barcelona Cathedral. We waited twenty minutes in line before we were allowed up to the rooftop and then once we got sat it took another twenty minutes for anyone to wait on us. Service was terrible and then as soon as we ordered the waitress cashed us out so we could only get one drink. I would not go again.

Yelp
Stayed for one night at Hotel Colon after cruise. Paid extra for Cathedral view. Church undergoing renovation so they allowed Samsung to erect a HUGE sign on front blocking view of front. VERY NOISY at night. Music and yelling continued to after midnight. We had 7am departure so got VERY little sleep. Beds are like trampolines. Hard and springy. Pillows very cheap. The bathroom shower is a joke. No curtain or doors so water cascades onto the floor into the carpeting hallway. Carpet was soaked when we checked in. Staff was VERY apathetic. I tried speaking to hotel manager about our lousy stay. He didn't even have courtesy to respond to my 3 emails. Area at night is also sketchy. Hotel gives you warning about pickpockets. My recommendation: Stay ELSEWHERE !!!! Overpriced and overrated.

Yelp
Fabulous! I loved this place and the staff so much. The suite was huge, great bathroom, and super comfortable beds. The front desk staff that I met: Laila, Marta, Gregorio, and Surgei were so friendly and helpful. I had such an amazing time here. Breakfast is also delicious, as they have a buffet with everything you could want. Their dinner is good as well. The rooftop bar is to die for, considering the view of the cathedral. I will be coming back. Please anyone reading this, stay here. It is also in a great location and close to pretty much everything you would want to see. We had no complaints whatsoever with this hotel. Just stunning.

Sheryll Q.

Yelp
Very nice hotel in front of the Cathedral. We went during Christmas season and the Christmas market is literally right outside the hotel. A few more steps down to the Cathedral and alleys going to the shopping center. Centrally located to everything. The room is small (like any other hotel room in Europe) but nice. It has toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc that you'll need of you forget your toiletry bag. Two complimentary water as well. The only thing is the bath tub/shower area has no curtain. So if you're messy like me then you'll wet the whole bathroom. Haha. Overall, would recommend this place.

Yelp
Rooftop bar has excellent view. Located across from Barcelona Cathedral. Perfect spot for a quick drink with a view.

Yelp
The first thing you notice about Hotel Colon, and possibly the reason you are there, is the beautiful location directly across from Barcelona Cathedral. In the streets I heard local music artists who were quite talented. I especially enjoyed the Spanish guitar musicians. There are many shops right by the hotel and it is easy to get around by taxi. The hotel itself has a quiet Old World charm of its own while at the same time being thoroughly modern and comfortable. The views from the windows are incredible and peaceful. I found my room here to be beautiful, comfortable, clean, and all at a fair price. It was refreshing to come back to the hotel and find sweet luxuries such as a towel warmer, warm heavy terry cloth spa robes, and slippers. The bathtub is large enough that you will want to relax in a bubble bath. The beds are comfortable. There are good restaurants in and around the hotel. The staff at the hotel are welcoming and happy to help you with every detail whether it is menu choices, getting luggage to your room quickly, or making sure your airport transfers are on time. Make sure you take time to go out by the Barcelona Cathedral and soak up the culture there along with the afternoon sun.
google avatar

Fernando E.

Yelp
Nice hotel in a great location overlooking Catedral de Barcelona and Plaça Nou. Room 605 has a huge terrace which is great for enjoying breakfast and late night glasses of wine. Walking distance to almost anywhere from hotel. Wonderful street musicians in square in front are wonderful to listen to.

Yelp
My family and I found ourselves stranded in Barcelona after the massive strikes following the vote for Catalan independence. Taxis, trains, metros and busses...none of these could get us to our train bound for Madrid. We were unable to extend our AirBnB one more night and hotels were extremely limited as we were not the only tourists stranded. We found Hotel Colon and reserved the last available room. The staff was nice enough to look the other way and allow 2 adults and a baby in a single occupancy room. The next day they were a huge help in arranging transportation to the train station. Aside from the impeccable service during this hiccup in our travels, the hotel is beautiful. Comfortable bed, great shower and tub... Amazing terrace facing the cathedral. Last minute plans = room service dinner and the food was spectacular. Would recommend without hesitation.

Yelp
This hotel is just awesome! Great location and staff. Plus a rooftop spa with amazing views

Yelp
Food here is rubbish! There is so much good food in Spain.", but if you want it don't eat here. Mussels were tepid at best and poorly flavoured The burrata has 8 half cherry tomatoes. Cheese was passable but why serve with par cooked pumpkin chef only knows. Do yourself a favour..... keep walking. Beer was good

Yelp
We loved our stay here. It is a great location in the Barrié Gòtic. Our "Design Cathedral View" room was very comfortable and had a balcony overlooking the plaza and the Barcelona Cathedral. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, especially Eva, Toni, Rachel and the bellman / doorman who somehow managed to help everyone and still be there when you needed him! Our buffet breakfast (included with our room) was very good with a wide selection including scrambled eggs (not always hot-our only minor complaint), sausages, smoked salmon, cheeses, salamis and cold-cuts, cereals and yogurts, fresh fruits, multiple breads, juices, coffee, espresso and more. We loved the decor and lighting in the hallways. I think the Hotel Colon probably deserves a 4.5 star score. The servers in the bar/lounge weren't very friendly or helpful. I was thinking the room could use a few tweaks in furnishing, maybe additional storage like bedside cabinets for example instead of the lamp tables. The bathroom was exceptionally nice and we gave the rain shower a ten out of ten!! We hope to return to the Hotel Colon in the future. I don't think we would consider staying anywhere else in Barcelona.

Kim C.

Yelp
Great experience at Hotel Colon. Perfect location for activities in Barcelona. Directly across the street from the beautiful Barcelona Cathedral. We could hear the Spanish guitars playing from our room. The Las Ramblas was a short walk away and filled with shopping and dining opportunities. Would definitely stay at the property again.

Yelp
First of all, the view was great! You can see Barcelona cathedral from the roof of hotel which was a spa place. We had spa there and was able to see cathedral, it's so beautiful. The location is perfect and next to gothic area. You can find restaurants and shopping around. Second, the inside of room was so brand new and nice. I very like it, it worth the price! Love it, I definitely will live here next time:)

Yelp
Hotel Colon is beautiful with an amazing staff. The rooftop desk offers an amazing view of the cathedral, which drink service. There is no view better view then sitting on the roof sipping a cocktail overlooking Barcelona. Patrons can also lay in the rooftop hot tub that overlooks all of Barcelona. The hotel is within walking distance of everything and has a hop on hop off bus stop right outside the hotel. The staff is very helpful in booking events, shows and dinners all across Barcelona.

Yelp
Very rude staff the night of 12/9/18 at 7:45 pm. The staff demanded that we leave if we weren't guests at the hotel. We are in Barcelona from USA and had a horrible experience tonight getting our purse stolen. We came across the Christmas Market and this nice hotel to stop and use the restroom. Starting to wonder how our experience in this great city (supposedly) will be...

Yelp
You really can't beat the location. It's worth the money if you want to wake up literally right in front of the most beautiful cathedral in Spain and in probably one of the most romantic areas in the world. If you book and you want a view, make sure you request one. I got a tiny room that faced a "courtyard," which was really just facing other windows. The room seemed to be brand new, but had some carpet stains. The entire hotel seemed to be very old and dated in not a good way, but my room was super sleek. The staff was kind of rude, but I am American, so they probably thought I was obnoxious. I really wanted a room with a view, but oh well, I had a view when I stepped outside. Also in the morning, they have breakfast down on the basement floor, be WARNED, I thought it was free. It's a simple breakfast where you serve yourself. I was asked for my room number because I thought they wanted to verify I was a guest, but I was charged 20 euro. The breakfast was not very good and that's crazy expensive for Barcelona. You can have a 5 course tapas meal with wine for less. I honestly think overall everything was just okay and not really worth the price. There are plenty of stunning hotels for way less a block away, literally so many. This one is just in front of the Holy Cathedral. Have fun!

Yelp
We stayed at this beautiful hotel prior to boarding a cruise ship out of the Barcelona Port. Travelling was my mom, sister and I and we had a "Design" room (as opposed to "Classic") and it was beautiful, large, clean and with a double sink bathroom to comfortably accommodate us. We had (3) comfortable beds, plenty of closet space and a quiet room. The location is perfect for exploring the Gothic part of the city. We loved being able to sit on their top deck, overlooking the beautiful Barcelona cathedral, and enjoy beverages and food each evening after much exploring. Breakfast, while not included had everything from fruits, meats, cheeses, eggs, breads etc. A great way to start our day. The staff was helpful and conscientious. An incredible gem! Will stay here again!

Yelp
We got lucky with this hotel. We didn't know anything about it but were impressed for our entire stay. The hotel is located just across the plaza from an old, Gothic cathedral in the Bario Gothic, so the view from our balcony was of this beautiful old church and public square. The rooms were small but very clean and comfortable. The staff at this hotel went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. For tourists the hotel is central to everything, with the Hop-On Hop-Off bus stop right at the corner. You are a short walk from La Rambla, and the subway is also close. The only thing I found curious (and this may be due to my lack of experience in Europe) was that there was no shower curtain, just a VERY short glass door on the bath / shower, so it was nearly impossible to shower without soaking the floor. Seemed strange to me, but maybe there's a reason. We would not hesitate to return to Hotel Colon Barcelona.

Yelp
The view of the cathedral across the plaza is stunning. Some of my favorite pictures of Barcelona were taken either from inside or just outside this hotel. Hotel Colon isn't in the center of all the action - from what I can remember - but it's definitely not far. A quiet yet roomy room awaits you on the corner of Lovely & Devine if you're staying at the Hotel Colon. The rooms are surprisingly well sized and quite roomy for Spain with a well appointed bathroom to go along with it. Definitely on the top of my list of places to consider whenever I make it back to Beautiful Barcelona.

Yelp
Hotel Colon is a great hotel to be at in Barcelona. Its in the middle of almost everything. Many things were within walking distance. The rooms and bathrooms are big. The people at the desk were very helpful and friendly. When we complained about something such as our room had a stale odor or the room safe was not functioning, help was sent right away or the problem was resolved. I recommend if you are going to Barcelona to stay at this place. The prices are affordable. The location is prime. The service is great.
