Hotel Colonial

I stayed there in October of 2019 and I was impressed with the place. The property is big, however, they only have 9 rooms. They have a big dining room very well decorated with big windows to the garden and the rooms around the courtyard. The employees are supper accommodating and helpful and the owner cares more about the wellbeing of the guests than about the money he can make. The hotel is two minute walk to the plaza so you get the proximity but not the noise. On a slightly different note, I’ve been in several “Pueblos Mágicos,” but none like Alamos.

From the moment we walked into The Colonial, we were charmed. The atmosphere and the staff were simply lovely. They could not do enough for us - helping with luggage, making tasty breakfast, chatting with us, and simply making our stay delightful. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We also enjoyed their recommendations for restaurants. We stayed twice on our annual return to the US and were very disappointed to learn they are temporarily closed in 2021. Everyone’s experiences are different, but ours in The Colonial was truly relaxing and lovely.

If you like colonial architecture you will love the Hotel Colonial. Lovely rooms, delightful courtyards, and peaceful roof deck and backyard atrium. Our third stay and we will return! The staff and owner are super helful. Continental breakfast included but a full breakfast is available. Next door to Charisma restaurant. So good we ate there twice this stay.

Loved it!!! The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. We traveled in a group that rented out all the rooms. We had a wonderful time enjoying the outside space, an attended a Pizza and Margarita Dinner on the terrace. Pizza was amazing. The owners are wonderful people/hosts. We will be returning .

We had been to Alamos before and stayed at Hacienda de los Santos, a fantastic hotel. This time our travel companions booked us at the Colonial Hotel. AT first we were disappointed. However once we arrived we were very pleased. It is a small (maybe should be called a B&B) hotel with excellent personal service and attention. The restoration was done impeccably. The plantings and general ambiance was excellent. The price is very reasonable. The value is superb. We would stay here again

What's not to like... The location is outstanding, the rooms very comfortable, the courtyard and the shady gardens stunning. Kelley and Janet are the nicest hosts you will ever find. Be sure to enjoy Kelley's coffee, roasted on the premises and check out the breathtaking roof top area.

Beautiful and very traditional. The courtyard is very accommodating with comfortable furniture making social time a "look forward to" experience. The same goes for the rooftop. Comfortable furniture, patio heaters, table lamps, and a view of the city. Intimate, casual, or social..... where would you like to sit? Scarves for the ladies to wear are neatly hung on railing of the spiral staircase leading up to the roof. Nice touch. The included breakfast was a large fruit plate, toast, coffee, and juice. Very nice.

We go back time and again to the Hotel Colonial. The owners are fantastic hosts, and they have created an exquisitely beautiful place. The rooms are luscious and the beds super comfortable, courtyard is inviting, and the view from the rooftop courtyard is stunning. Plus, it is in the heart of Alamos, within walking distance of everything!! A total delight.
