As of european expectaions the hotel significantly underperforms. For rural colombia its ok. Small, not clean, no windows (these are metal like the door), restaurant in the center room (you can hear EVERY word spoken and usually there is music). Food is columbia basic (bad on european standard)

Relative to the overall town and region, this place is basic (really good basic!) with bit of a hidden oasis feel. It has an onsite restaurant (very handy if you arrive late and dont feel like going out that night!), a swimming pool and a bar. 5-6 mins walk to town center (there is nothing much at the town center - meeting spot across the church for colectivo / coomotor bus). Staff always greets you at the front desk and is super helpful and attentive. We asked the front desk to help us coordinate for tuktuk ride to the Tatacoa desert and the driver was promptly waiting for us in the next morning. Overall, very efficient staff and service; just simply amazing and should be an example / above average bar for all other hotel services! Room is clean with nice beds. Small bathroom and sink but proportional to the facility. Breakfast was basic but tasty and filling (like how the staff asks you the night before what you like for breakfast and when you sit down on the next day, the kitchen staff brings it out for you). ⚠️ Not all tuktuk drivers work out for us. If you need to be transported around to different sites, be sure to give the staff feedback on any bad tuktuk driver so they wont use their service the next round. PS: Looks like they are building more rooms soon!

Tired after a long day of travel, we went to bed early only to be woken up by a party of 20 singing and clapping a happy birthday at midnight with noise continuing until 2am. The receptionist did nothing to quiet things down and in the morning our agency was informed that "neighbours" were responsible. The bad faith, Spartan rooms poorly serviced with hair in the shower and empty bottle under the bed and a lousy breakfast made us pack our bags and leave.

Lovely family run hotel! Staff are very helpful to book tours and the food is great with big portions. Pool is nice and air con is appreciated!

Great place, nice staff, no hot water, but it is hot here! Good airconditioning though. Old Colonial house with a patio. Nice restaurants on walking distance.

Stayed 2 nights to visit the Tatacoa Desert & Observatory. The hotel is quite basic but nevertheless comfortable and very clean - but no hot running water! Enrique who runs the hotel is very friendly and helpful and organised the trips for us to the Desert and Observatory. Breakfast is very good with fresh fruit, eggs and bread. It's just a short walk from the square in Villavieja with several bars and restaurants. Recommended.

Had a great stay there. The rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. Staff was extremely helpful and helped us organize an English language tour of the desert, as well as transport to the airport. Also provided a nice breakfast.

Don’t expect any luxury in Villavieja. This hotel is great to stay becuase is fairly priced, the staff is helpful and kind, they help you organizing tours and even ordering food for you, the breakfast is good, they have a mango tree right there in the patio. The rooms have air conditioning and the beds are comfortable. Since Villavieja is so small, this hotel is well located as it is very near everything.
