Hotel Colorado Lugano

Awesome hotel. I originally booked in September 2024, went up to the room, but had to travel back home. I called in April 2025, if I could still have the room for a night. The receptionist said "yes, I remember, no problem, see you tonight". The rooms are solid and well equiped. It is very easy to reach from the station (2 min walk) and right by the lake.

Very difficult to find as sat nav kept sending us down dead end roads, however once we did ,we arrived at the rear entrance which was shared by the local garage and bike hire s it was not immediately clear if we were in the right place. First impressions were of a very dated old fashioned hotel, with dusty old stair carpet and a cluttered reception area. We were promised a free travel card , but this was not forthcoming. Reception was rarely occupied (perhaps we were the only residents ??) so had little chance to chase this up. Room was spotlessly clean , but very small and hot. The air con did not seem to work. Shower was on a tap mixer which was bit like playing chicken with the varying temperature. However good location if you don't mind the short walk up the hill, staff were very helpful (when you saw one) Parking was available at a cost. For 2 nights it was OK, but doubt a family or longer stay is sustainable. Lugano itself felt very safe, but very expensive. Boat rips were good and the general location was spectacular with views over the lake and mountains.

Hotel at a good location. But rooms and hotel are really dated and could get some renovations. Price for such a hotel seem a bit high to me and I'm talking about hotel prices in switzerland!

Stayed one night here and got given a balcony room when only booking standard. Location was ideal, hotel is outdated yet clean. Breakfast could have a few improvements,

Hotel situated a bit above Lugano center with easy car access. Rooms are clean and comfortable with private bathrooms, and some also feature a small balcony, which is great on lush summer evenings. The hotel has a terrace where drinks and food can be ordered. Staff is friendly and professional. The breakfast buffet in the morning was complete (both sweet and savory). Would absolutely recommend.

Stayed for two nights in a single room. The hotel seems kind of old-fashioned, but doesn't lack in anything. ||Buffet Breakfast was tasty. The staff is friendly. Location of the hotel is great, within walking distance of the station (800 m). Price is reasonable.

Comfortable well air-conditioned room; well appointed modern bathroom. Three beds ( great for us with 22 year old son). Decent breakfast with excellent service. Parking expensive at 10 Franks a day and often we got the last space. Friendly owners. Good location. We can recommend this hotel without hesitation: very reasonable prices.

The best pillows I've had in Switzerland, but that's about where it stops. As soon as I walked up, the building looked dated. Walking to the room the halls smelt weird. The paint was cracking on the walls in the room and the towels were starting to fray.|Watch out for the shower. While it was warm and good water pressure, the step in and out was borderline dangerous.|Staff were nice and friendly, and we did get an included bus pass, which would have been nice before arriving as the walk is about 10-15 with light luggage.|Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Felt like it was bought from the supermarket. The room was clean, but felt old with the plastic chairs.
