We booked through Booking.com, a balcony room in July for an October stay. We were not given this room, and when we complained, we were told that they were fully booked and that the balcony rooms had been since January. So why were we able to book in July? The room we were given overlooked the square but was poorly maintained. To move rooms to a cheaper but slightly better room and pay less, we had to cancel with Booking.com. If we had been able to book another hotel easily, we would have, but we arrived in the evening with limited options. I did wonder how many other people had the same experience and have complained to Booking.com. The breakfast was the worst we had in Peru just to add insult to injury, with watered down juices and cold scrambled eggs that both mornings looked as if they had been made the day before. After agreeing to a price on the evening we arrived, at checkout they tried to charge us the original price! Stay away.
