We had an excellent one night stay at the Condestable Iranzo. Jaén is a lovely little city to visit and the hotel is perfectly located in the city. It is also just beside the parking La Victoria which made life easy for arriving and leaving. The rooms are old style and elegant and a good size. Facilities were very good too. Staff were friendly and the price (booked directly with the hotel) was excellent value. I would highly recommend the Hotel Condestable Iranzo for a stay in Jaén.

Very bad experience and not recommended if you want a good night sleep and a decent level of comfort. The hotel is old and dated. The worst part is the non existent noise insulation. The noise from the road and the hallway is frustrating, we can hear everything from the other rooms and the toilet flush from our neighbors sounded like a rocket launch. Room was extremely hot even with heating off and full winter. Strongly recommend you avoid this hotel.

Very good hotel well situated opposite underground (pay) car park beneath gardens. Newly refurbished room with excellent bathroom, lovely view. Very helpful & pleasant staff. Terraza bar/restaurant with good atmosphere and tasty food.

We booked the hotel as a stopover between Valencia and Portugal.|On arrival we had to wait to check-in although no one else was there. There was another lady on a desk in the corner but she wasn’t interested, what does she do?|Up to the room and opened the fridge to find leftovers cold meat which the cleaner hadn’t emptied, then the crisps left on the windowsill!! |It’s a good location but there is no hotel parking, you pay extra. The plumbing is old so when next door flushes their toilet at 4 AM it’s really loud. The electrics are poor with bare wires out of 5th wall behind the fridge.|Positives: The rooftop pool is lovely , if small, and the TV entertainment system is modern but to be honest they should have spent this on updating the bathroom. |Sorry can’t recommend and won’t be back

Selected for ease of hotel parking and a 15 minute walk to the cathedral and city centre. As expected, the hotel is showing signs of its age in its style and fixtures and decor of corridors. However our room was a good size, clean, tv, fridge, good WiFi, a/c etc. Poor view. I would normally insist on a change as there was a good view of a park from some rooms but for one night I couldn't be bothered.||||No information in English anywhere, neither was the receptionist able to speak English, so what might be available in their cafe for breakfast or the rooftop for lunch or dinner I still don't know. The rooftop bar had good views and the pool was sparklingly clean and of a good size for cooling off. Car parked under the hotel, very tight entrance even for a relatively small hatch-back. I'd like to say very good, and with a little effort it could be, but overall just average at present.

I gave this hotel 2 stars because the staff were kind at the front desk, the location is really great, and the pillows were fantastic. The climate control/AC was non-existent so it was always so hot in the room. The beds were so hard. The fridge died on our first day, but we didn’t know til we went to retrieve our drinks that were warm. The noise from the hall was frustrating. The ceiling tiles in the bathroom were off set so there were these weird strings hanging out which were off putting. Looked like bugs… I can handle a hotel that’s dated, but this one just needs a bit more.

Excellent location, super friendly staff in the cafeteria/Bar. Paco and Jose excellent workers. Room was super clean only problem was the shower, screen too small and shower head wouldn't stay in place so had to use a elastic band to hold it so we could have a shower. But extremely quiet and no noise from the street. Loved it!!

Great location in the centre of the city! The hotel is well appointed but could potentially do with a bit of updating. Rooms are comfortable and clean and the breakfast options are varied and fresh but not all of the highest quality!

Yelp
AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS! It is TERRIBLE! This hotel advertises itself as four stars, don't be fooled. I booked a room with parking in October, 2016. When I got to the hotel, I was told, "Sorry, the hotel garage is always full. You'll have to park at the municipal lot (one block away), it is the same price." This was the first lie told by the hotel, When I exited the lot the next day, it was 3-4 Euros more. But this was very minor compared to the room itself. Once I got to the room, I could get the air conditioning to work. Staff came up and said, "Sorry, it is a building-wide problem, there's nothing I can do." They didn't have fans either, I was advised to "open a window." I did, and was treated to mosquitos and street noise all night long. Remember this is Jaen in October, it was maybe 28 outside and at least 30 inside the room. At the front desk, I suggested that this major flaw merited a discount. I was't expecting a free room, but 15-20% would not be amiss for no AC on a hot night. I was told, curtly, "No." Given their general attitude, I'm not completely sure the AC isn't always "broken." In short, I did;t trust what they were telling me. There are lots of other hotels in Jaen. Pick somewhere OTHER than Hotel Condestable Iranzo.
