Hotel Continental Brno

Rooms are nice, clean and well-equipped. We really appreciated the extra-large mattress and the views from the window. Breakfast was also nice, although we did miss some more international breakfast options (i.e., more salty options, high-protein foods, Mediterranean breakfast, etc.). Regarding the service, sadly I have to give a lower rating due to one specific incident we had during our stay. At 9am a technician repeatedly knocked on our door despite having the "Do Not Disturb" sign hanging. They then told us that we needed to let them into the room since they had decided to upgrade the door locks of all rooms in our floor. Since we were checking out that same day, we were still in the room showering, getting ready and packing, so it was a bit puzzling that they chose to do it at 9am instead of a couple hours later when we would have left the room. Aside from that, hotel staff was correct and helpful when required. As a side note, please note that the shower in the room steps directly into the bed area and it has a transparent glass door. I guess this may be some cultural thing but we were somewhat surprised to find that (although we were cool with it). Whether you find it curious, awkward or spicy... I'll guess it depends on your specifics. All in all, this is a solid option for staying in Brno and I would recommend it to others (just please wait for guests to vacate rooms before doing non-urgent maintenance!).

We will not return nor recommend it for family vacations. It's a renovated 1960s hotel, but it's still old and run-down. The rooms are painted orange and green, which makes them unwelcoming, and the windows were dirty. We stayed two nights and our room was cleaned very, very poorly. They only straightened the duvet; they didn't even put the pillows back in place or change the towels. The breakfast room looks like an industrial warehouse, cold and undecorated. The hotel isn't designer, it's not welcoming, and it's not recommended for families

Brno is a great place to visit and I love the city! I was at Brno intercontinental hotel 20 years ago and I've returned a week ago and it is still the same: rooms, reception, lobby and breakfast area. The staff is efficient. The hotel is from the 60s, and, maybe it is why it has no renovations in 20 years (there are some new chairs, orange an blue, in the reception area but not in line with the hotel architecture).

A hotel that offers stunning city views from the higher floors. The rooms are spacious, well-furnished, and come with good service. The only downside was that there was no hot water in the shower, and since they weren’t able to fix it, we had to use only the bathtub.

Loud noises coming from the ceiling near the AC unit, although it was off. It kept me up all night long. I stayed for three nights and despite informing Reception in the first night, they said they would inspect it and send somebody for repair, but they ignored my request completely and it continued for all the nights despite my continuous complaints. I would never stay there again.

Initial room offered had stains on the sheets etc. Once I told the receptionist I got offered another room. Generally speaking very hot rooms at higher floors. Bad circulation of air in the rooms. Breakfast to ok standard

It's a nice hotel. I asked for a extra water bottle but they said that it's in the minibar. I couldn't find it and it was late night so I asked again but no help from the reception during at that time. Good breakfast but no vegan options available. There's an Indian restaurant nearby the hotel which is really good. There's an electronics store nearby.

Friendly staff. Great location--close to transit lines and to tourist sites. The room was clean and tidy. The beds were comfy. The WC was small. The shower was great. The room was fairly spacious. My only complaint is that the only English-language TV station was CNN. Please provide other options that provide the watcher with another point of view.
