"Located opposite Genova Principe Train Station, the Continental is a restored Art Nouveau hotel overlooking the city. It offers elegant rooms with parquet floors, free WiFi, and a large breakfast buffet. Breakfast includes savory items such as cheese, as well as warm croissants and fresh fruit. Open for lunch and dinner, the Trattoria Tralalero serves both Ligurian and international dishes, specializing in fresh fish. Guests can eat outside on the hotel's leafy terrace during the summer. The Continental's air-conditioned rooms have a tiled bathroom complete with hairdryer and toiletry set. Some rooms offer views of the Piazza Acquaverde square. The hotel is well connected to the public transport system. Both the metro and various bus lines pass through the nearby central station. This is not a 4-star hotel, perhaps 3-star. The staff were business-like and efficient but lacked warmth and conviviality. Some of the facilities described were availble at the adjacent hotel but you were certainly not made welcome there. The room we were allocated was of a fair quality but I'd say of faded elegance and perhaps needed an upgrade. There was little or no natural light and you couldn't really tell if it was day or night! Food offered at breakfast was of a good quality and standard range you'd expect of a standard hotel. Service was fairly inconsistent on the days we stayed, This was the final part of a holiday through Switzerland and Italy and we were hoping for some luxury. We were disappointed.

Good hotel, right next to the main station of Genova. The building looks historic and the elevator was very unique - really loved it. The rooms were spacious, clean and had a decent view! Breakfast had decent choices and were filling. Staff were friendly, and told us the places to go in Genoa! Location-wise, there are plenty of little bars and restaurants around. The only missing thing was a supermarket, for which you need to walk a little.

The location can’t be beat for access to Genova train station. The hotel has been tastefully refurbished and was very impressive in terms of its’ cleanliness and facilities. We booked the larger room which had a king bed, small|fridge, kettle which suited us. I would recommend this hotel for a one or two night stay if you are exiting Genova by train. The only negative was the non-existent wifi.

It seems they merged two hotels, one being the five star and the other a 4 star, the one I stayed in. Upon arriving, the door had a sign that told us to go to the five star hotel to check in, about 50 meters away. The way to get to the four star hotel from the 5 star is confusing. The main shower head in our bathroom did not work. For breakfast we accidentally went to the wrong location and were told to go to the 4 star one, some of the items seemed to be sitting for a while, especially the eggs. My biggest complaint is, it's an odd juxtaposition when you constantly see the nicer amenities over the other connected hotel. If I had not seen that, maybe I'd give a 3 or 4

Enjoyed a 4 night stay, room only so can’t comment on any meals. Good sized room with very comfortable large bed with the best hotel pillows. Air con was very good, as was the Wi-Fi. Pleased to have free use of safe (sadly not offered by majority of hotels these days). Small fridge which worked well. Complimentary bottle of water provided each day, and a kettle with supply of tea and coffee. Lovely white fluffy towels and excellent supply of toiletries in bathroom. The shower was over the bath and very powerful, but no grab rail which, as an older couple, we struggled with.|Staff extremely pleasant and helpful.|After reading reviews about problems with the lift, glad to say we never had a problem.|Railway station very close, but taxi from airport was fixed rate at only 25 euros.|Bars, cafes and restaurants nearby.

Small but lovely clean rooms, with clean towels and sheets, good water pressure. Some pieces of furniture could be easily removed for creating more space 😅 The staff is helpful, we had a tasty breakfast, it was a good one night stop for us. The city is another story, we had a long walk to the center and discovered a dirty and maybe a dangerous Genoa😳

Stayed here for 3 nights before going on a cruise,easy walk with cases to cruise terminal old world charm in this hotel, amazing breakfast buffet, across the road from Train station which is very handy, close to attractions,would stay here again for sure

Spacious rooms, amazing historic elevator, close to the city center. Only downside (hence only 3 stars): the air condition was not capable of cooling down the room properly and as a result, the temperature was quite hot (granted it was a very hot day).
