The experience had its ups and downs. Our room keys repeatedly stopped working. The female receptionist was helpful and gave us extras, but the male receptionist was patronising, blaming us for placing them near phones or magnets, which we hadn’t done. The same man rudely stopped a friend at reception after another staff member had allowed her to say hello. No proper apology was given—just a snarky remark after we pointed out it was their mistake. I also forgot my child’s swimming costume and called the next day, only to be told nothing could be done until the following day, with no lost property service or communication from staff.

Perfect location to explore the area: a very stylish hotel with glorious gardens to relax in, an outdoor pool, gym etc and scrumptious breakfast! Rooms a very spacious, tastefully designed, air conditioned and beds very comfortable! Staff are welcoming and helpful

As a seasoned traveler, I’ve stayed at countless hotels worldwide, but I’ve never encountered such a disappointing experience as I did at Convento de Aracena. We were told the hotel was fully booked, yet we clearly saw available rooms. To make matters worse, the receptionist didn't even open the door to us, communicating through a glass window, which felt unwelcoming and unprofessional. I highly advise against trusting this hotel. If you're looking for a place with genuine hospitality and warmth, I recommend heading to the nearby Barceló Aracena Hotel, just a mile away. There, we were welcomed with open arms, exceptional service, and a stunning view—something sadly lacking at Convento de Aracena.

Really comfortable rooms. Great bathroom. Lovely pool! Everything was great. Food truly excellent. One of our evening meals was really exceptional. The staff in reception were so helpful in sending on glasses that we left behind, they went to quite a bit of effort to send them on to us at another hotel in another region, very grateful for this as glasses are so expensive! We loved the atmosphere and the sitting room. The gardens were beautifully done, and the setting for the pool, was really very lovely. It was quiet there, lovely little town too. Enjoyed the caves and a vermouth in the main square!

A very pleasant hotel set in the town of Aracena. The room was clean and spacious with a lovely view of the castle. Bathroom was well appointed and stocked with toiletries, toothbrushes, combs and all necessary accroutrements.|Breakfast was good, set up buffet style so plentiful and tasty.|Dinner in the evening was also very good and staff were very attentive and helpful.|I note that others have complained about the parking however, on arrival, it was clearly explained to us as to how to access the carpark ---- yes it might be a bit of an interesting drive but once done it is not a problem and we were in and out quite regularly. My advice would be to decant your luggage at reception, park the car then go back pick up luggage and make your way to your room ----- no big drama.

Interesting reading some of the comments.|First – Car Parking. With some preparation which you surely must do coming to a small town like Aracena we knew exactly where the car park was. A good SatNav (not Google Maps on a phone) and a quick glance at Google Earth before you start shows exactly where the car park is (at the rear). Admittedly we stopped at the front to ask them to let us in when we got around.||We found any staff we came across very helpful (I forget the lady’s name on Reception). We have no quibbles about the food either for breakfast or in the restaurant. We saw very few people staying here on our one night. ||The room was comfortable with a good shower. Toiletries were good quality. The room we had was to the rear and overlooked the pool area and the hills beyond. The bed was comfortable and large. Everything was very clean. No complaints.||I would note that this hotel is high up in the town so any visits require a little stamina and of course the Castle is even higher up (do very early).||We stayed here to visit the Caves in the morning (10.30 descend) and the hotel allowed us to remain parked in the garage until we returned (they even opened the bar for us to get cold drinks on our return near 12 noon. ||The conversion from Convent to Hotel has allowed some interesting construction/opening up – eg the Reception/Bar/Lounge Area. Quite impressive.

A beautiful old convent tastefully refurbished into a quality village centre hotel. ||The staff are all very friendly and can’t do enough to help. The rooms are large and well equipped and it even has a free mini bar.||The grounds are well maintained with a good size pool and a large comfortable relaxing area. The restaurant food is excellent and very good value for what you get. I recommend the “Iberian Suprise” A shout out to front of house, Pablo who was polite, efficient and attentive at all times. The breakfast choice is vast and cooked options are available. ||Parking for motorcycles is easy, and secured within a garage. For motorcycles it is free! ||A highly recommended hotel for motorcyclists.

Nice hotel . Definitely recommend to stay . Rooms are nice , well appointed and a very nice bathroom and shower . Large bed very comfortable. Service can’t mention much didn’t use a lot of service but the interaction with staff was ok . Is an old converted convent so it has a nice rustic feel to it and has a labyrinth of corridors to get to various rooms . The downsides why it only gets 4 stars is - breakfast very mediocre and nothing special . In the end I skipped breakfast altogether with a coffee only. - smallest of Gyms, I did a better workout in the room by Calisthenics. Air con system was locked so couldn’t adjust it . Only option was to turn it off.
