What can I say? The best hotel stay I’ve ever had. The staff made it feel like home, everyday they remembered our names and smiled and made us feel so special. The rooms are so antique and gorgeous, very Spaniard style. We made incredible friends at this hotel and want to stay here every time we go back to Cuenca. You can walk absolutely everywhere and this city is so amazing, I have never seen a place like this. 10/10 recommend

We loved the Hotel del Giraldo. Very nice room with a stunning view of the gorge and Parador. Bed very comfortable, bathroom clean and functional. Hotel has an elevator. Staff was very accommodating. Breakfast good - order off a menu. A bit of an uphill climb from Plaza Mayor. Cuenca is an absolutely awesome day trip from Madrid! Would stay here again. Highly recommended

Loved the corner room I stayed, the views were nice to wake up to. I wouldn't necessarily call it 4* hotel, but character, location, cleanliness and the staff definitely make it worth the price. Recommend it.

A lovely historic building with very comfortable rooms, though unfortunately there was no watercooker in the room. The bed was great and the shower (in bathtub) very nice.|There is fixed shampoo and showergel and soap in the bathroom but no other extras.|The location is also very quiet and I slept really well.||The breakfast in the attached restaurant was great. We could take meats and cheeses and such from a small buffet but warm dishes (eggs/bacon etc) could be ordered with the staff (no extra charge) and were delicious.|The staff at the reception and restaurant was also very friendly and helpfull.||The location of the hotel is also great if you wish to explore the old town. It is very close the main square and the cathedral. We came with a taxi that dropped us off on the main square, from there it is a small , but a bit steep, distance uphill to the hotel but not too much trouble.

We travelled to Cuenca on the recommendation of friends, knowing that I am a fan of aTristan Antonio Saura’s work. The pocket-sized medieval city offers a wealth of museums and art galleries which are housed in stunning, air conditioned, buildings. The hotel is central, clean and very stylish. Its location allowed us to break up our walks and gallery visits to cool down and rest as we were never far away. The hotel restaurant has a good menu and some excellent local wines, served by amiable and knowledgeable staff. We loved it. We had breakfast and supper there every day. There was plenty of free car parking at the top of the city, through a narrow archway but the hotel also provides a docket for reduced parking rates at the facility opposite. We will definitely stay there again.

Very nice hotel. Beautiful rooms. Decent price. GREAT location. The rooms at the front of the hotel, lower level are very noisy from the cars and buses that pass through this narrow street. After sitting in bath after a long day it drove me nuts and we asked to change rooms which they super kindly did for us. The new room was super quiet and beautiful again. Our gratitude to the nice staff.

In the heat of a hot August, the room air conditioning unit was pathetic. The room was uncomfortable hot. When we asked if they had portable fans, the answer was no. We tried opening the windows but there was no breeze and the air conditioner was interlocked such that it shut down if the window was opened.

On arrival, reception was unfriendly and unhelpful, telling us we did not have a reserved parking space even though we had booked it with them. On showing email proof they said that was the old system. We now had to take a chance on finding one. Also, no information was given about hotel facilities. We had to ask. |The bar and restaurant staff were very off-hand. |Reception staff, who were different every time we passed by, didn’t speak. |On leaving, I was presented with an amount on a credit card machine and had to ask for a breakdown of the bill. They did not ask if we had enjoyed our stay. |After leaving, we realised we had left something in the room safe. Due to language issues we asked reception at our next hotel to phone and ask if they had been found. The response was that nothing had been found in the room or safe. I’m afraid we suspect they didn’t even bother to check the room or safe.

Yelp
I loved this hotel. It was homey but spacious, and their Piola Gastrobar was a perfect spot for breakfast, lunch or a lil' bite. The hotel room had a four poster bed, two balconies with an incredible view as well as a separate living room. The restroom has a bidet, and sponges for your bath, oh and bathrobes too. It's a humble looking exterior and worth a great stay, very comfortable!
