Convento Tarifa is not a luxury hotel. But it was still a pleasant experience staying one night here. ||We had booked the suite. Very large and nice bathroom. ||Room and the hotel were very clean. ||The breakfast was very average. ||The staff were very friendly. Most of them only speaks Spanish. ||The location of the hotel is perfect and about 100 meters from the old city.

Well situated hotel just outside Tarifa Old Town. Modern clean rooms with nice beds and a good breakfast. Fabulous outdoor garden at the back and a lovely resident dog called Wilma who loved a good fuss! Very helpful staff, and you can reserve nearby parking which is a bonus. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in Tarifa.

Very friendly and flexible staff, we arrived late but that was not a problem. They were just as happy as if it would have been office hours! Clean and tidy. Comfortable beds. Locker included. Breakfast not included but for 10E a good brekfast. Highly recommended!

As I live in Marbella I frequently visit Tariffa and stay and one of the many beach front hotels. ||This trip I wanted to be in the town centre and stayed at the Hotel CONVENTO and an excellent choice it was too!! ||Originally an old convent the hotel has been well restored and all rooms are very modern and clean. ||To be honest they are rather small so I would recommend upgrading to one of their small suites and in August this was only an extra 20€ a night.|| The hotel is in the centre of Tariffa and everywhere is under 10 minutes walk away. This is a very personable hotel and the owner himself walked us to the garage just 3 minutes from the hotel. ||For those who want to be in the middle of the historic places, restaurants and very lively night scene this is the place to stay. ||It could easily be a base for a short visit to Tangier as the ferry port is under an 10 minute walk.

Recently stayed here during a recent trip to Spain and more specifically in Tarifa for a one day crossing to Tangier Morocco. It's a small mom and pop hotel but it's very clean and comfortable. They do have a restaurant although we did not use it. We enjoyed our time here.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The room was clean and comfortable. A little wear and tear was evident but nothing to worry about. This place has an interesting decor with a glassed in atrium giving it a very airy feel. It has a little dining room which leads to the cutest open air courtyard! It's walled in by some very old looking stone walls - like a castle courtyard which was very cosy and nicely decorated! And they made us possibly the best pitcher of sangria we had in Spain! This place is well situated, close to the old town, the beach and port. The staff did not speak English at all but we made it work with Google translate!|

We typically don't stay in such simple hotels, but this this simple spot knocked it out of the park. We were there for 2 nights and the gentleman at the front desk just couldn't do enough for us: first, he went several blocks with us to secure a safe place to park our car. Then, he walked me to a manicurist several blocks away.||||The hotel is simple, but has an up-market feel with newly redecorated rooms. Breakfast is SUPERB with high quality ingredients including freshly squeezed juice, terrific selection of exotic fresh fruits, gorgeous pastries that are picked up by the same man every day at a local bakery.||||All considered, this place is a steal.||||BTW: Google maps sent us to the street Convento rather than the hotel, in spite of putting in the hotel several times. The hotel is located on the town's main street, exactly one block from the historical gate to the old town (the main street actually dead-ends into the gate. Find the gate and the hotel will be right there on the street that ends at the gate).

Yelp
Excellent stay at this hotel. I'm not sure how the hotel rating system works in Spain, but for some reason this place is rated only one star. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated, and the bathroom is modern and also large. The entire place was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Located a short walk to the ferry, a supermarket, and the entrance to the old city, Covento is a great hotel for the value--easily on par with many 3 star hotels I've stayed in.
