We booked this hotel after reading the Chile Lonely Planet Guide. It said it was a midrange family establishment with spotless rooms and the option of pampering yourself with breakfast in bed, and that the entrance was past tinkering mechanics in the garage.||||Who ever wrote the review must have forgotten what the place was actually like. The receptionist that served us was bored and unhelpful, and more concerned with chatting to her friends on the phone than checking us in. Our room was dark and dirty, with pubic hairs on the floor of the rather grim looking bathroom. The flushing mechanism on the loo was broken, but i fixed that myself rather than ask for staff help. The ´window´ to our room opened on to very tight lightwell, as did a number of others which made for a very noisey night of music, chatting, crying babies and other peoples TV. Radio, engine noise and fumes rose from the ´tinkering mechanics´ working on their vehicles up the lightwell and in to our and every one elses rooms. Closing the window meant the small room became too stuffy. Breakfast, consisting of a single bread roll with coffee or tea, wasn´t served in bed.||||Overall pretty rubbish! There must be some where better in Antofagasta.
