"Feels like home" is a qualifier commonly used to describe boutique hotels, but few live up to the promise. Hotel Crayon Rouge, the little sister of Hotel Crayon just around the corner, drives the homey atmosphere with a number of clever features: an honesty bar and cheerful open-plan kitchen with a readily stocked fridge accessible for late-night cravings, an intimate lounge in the entry, used books on bedside tables, and reading lights in bathrooms. Colorful guestrooms are like fantasy bedrooms, with retro-chic style, graphic illustrated wallpaper, antique furnishings, and vintage decorative touches. Though rooms are compact, smart use of mirrors make them feel more spacious. The design of the propertywas masterminded by artist Julie Gauthron and is framed subtly around wine, the owners’ passion. You’ll find playful wine-themed wallpaper in the lounge, lamps in cork oak above the reception desk, and wine and whiskey carafes above the Rouge Bar dining table. Complimentary charcuterie is available in the Rouge Bar with the purchase of a glass of wine at apéro hour each evening."

We stayed at this hotel May 19-20,2025. It is in a quiet location close to a pharmacy and a number of places to eat. The decor is quirky and the rooms small with old pieces of furniture and limited storage space. The room we were in had a double bed pushed against a wall so that one had to crawl into the bed from the foot of the bed or crawl over your sleeping partner to get to the space by the wall. The room was clean and the front desk personnel especially Didier were very helpful. Our room had a shower rather than those high deep tubs you usually see in French hotels that are so difficult to get into. We paid up front for the continental breakfast which I felt was not worth the cost. It consisted of some breads, cheese,a prosciutto type ham, coffee and a very tired looking dish of cut up fruit. Because the breakfast area is small you had to give the front desk a specific time when you would be coming down for breakfast. There was cold water available gratis all during the day. Hotel seems safe and had to use your room card to access the front door to the street. The location is about a 7-10 minute walk to the Louvre and about a 24-25 minute walk to the Musee d'Orsay. Not sure how Europe rates their hotels but Crayon Rouge is supposed to be 4 star. I would rate this hotel more like a 3 star tourist hotel. There are other hotels in the area that I would choose if I were going back to stay in the 1st arrondisement of Paris

Absolutely loved my visit here. Charming man in the reception. Comfortable and well maintained room. Small - but very well organized. Very good bed and plenty of pillows. Thick and soft towells. And a wonderful rainforest shower with good water pressure.|The breakfast was nice and had all I needed. |Waterkettle in the room.|The location is great as well.

Google
quirky hotel but clean and has everything you need. The room was small but they made good use of every available space. Nicely decorated. The in-room safe and telephone in our room did not work- the front desk staff tried to help but couldn't resolve the issue. The breakfast was good. Location is good, not much in the immediate area but lots of stuff if you walk out a couple of minutes.

Don't believe the great reviews on this hotel or the ratings. It's NOT a 4 star hotel, 2 at best. There is no Bar, Lounge, Gym, Pool, Spa, Sauna, or rooms with a view. Rooms are small and outdated. No privacy between the bedroom & bathroom, Poor breakfast selection. Staff was very nice, location good. This hotel is overpriced at 400 Euro per night especially with ZERO AMENITIES. I've been to Europe many times for 2 or 3 weeks at a time. This was by far the worst hotel and should be priced around 200 Euro per night. The pictures speak for themselves.

Stayed for 3 nights in a junior suite. Chose this hotel for the location which turned out to be the right choice. 5 minutes from the Chatalet train station, 10 minutes to the Louvre or the Big Bus. Also just steps to several restaurants and groceries nearby. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and trendy. We didn't partake of the breakfast but it looked very good. Great coffee available in the breakfast room. Definitely recommend!

We stayed in Paris several times, but this hotel is absolutely amazing. The location is unbeatable: the hotel is located between Louvre and Opera, next to several central subway stations. The interior design of the rooms and common spaces is spectacular. One can immediately say that everything was done not only very thoughtfully but also with passion and love. The staff (Didier in particular) were very nice and super attentive. They made us feel like we were at home. Highly recommended!

Google
Great hotel for my first visit to Paris- perfect location, cute room, and friendly service. Felt totally safe returning there late at night. The room was small (but I only slept there, so it really didn’t matter) but full of character. Would love to return!

Google
Great little hotel, the room actually looks better in person than it does in the pictures! Room was lovely and the bathroom was especially great. Location is fantastic and right in the heart of Paris, I would recommend! Staff at reception were also really helpful with all the questions that I had! Fantastic service

Yelp
The pictures online are a little misleading so if you are claustrophobic, beware of what room you select. I wasn't mindful of that because I wanted a hotel close to everything and the Paris experience. First off, the front desk staff is awesome! They are extremely helpful and made our stay so pleasant. The lobby area is cute to hangout in and the dining room has necessities like bottled water, etc. Back to the room. It was smaller than my son's room with busy wallpaper patterns. It's cute and cozy, but if you're claustrophobic, check in the bigger rooms. The bathroom is super small too. The sink is really tiny so washing my face was very messy. Water got everywhere. The shower is nice. There were LED lights and the shower heads were strong. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. We were walking distance to great restaurants and the Louvre.

Yelp
Had such a positive and comfortable experience at this hotel, really a great spot. Booked it last-minute when a work tripped caused me to divert to Paris for a day and the city was sold out for a big conference. Enjoyed the experience and ease so much that I extended my stay a day longer before returning back to London for my flight home to NY. Clearly this is a business that puts a premium on friendly and helpful guest service, and they have pride in their accommodations, taking great care with the details. In short, this is a great small business and I hope that it's discovered by many more guests. If you're interested in details, they follow below: The pros: Great, attentive staff. Small but efficient and comfortable rooms. Thoughtful design and decor. Everything with a purpose and making best use of small space. Room was clean and staff was non-invasive. Bed was super comfortable and pillows were perfect. Breakfast and honor bar kitchen was convenient and affordable. Great location, tucked away just a few blocks from Palais Royale and The Louvre; near many major train lines (3-5min walk). Free wifi. The cons: Had some challenges with wifi during overnight hours (perhaps the router passwords reset at midnight), but they were quickly resolved.

Yelp
This place ranks high as far as convenience, design, and customer service go. It's a 5-10 walk from the Louvre and easy to get to by train. We accidentally booked a week prior to arriving and "no problem" they were able to fix it and get us the same room we wanted. This is a small boutique hotel in the sense they only have 17 rooms and as a result they are very hands on. The dining room is a help yourself kind of deal after meals are prepared by staff and everything from the tables to the light fixture all seemed to have been considered. There are dozens of tile and wall paper pattern throughout and all are were artistic and well placed. The window to the room opens up above the street and is very old world in a sense but uber modern simultaneously. The room has a walk-in closet and an espresso machine as well as a desk and a separate sitting area. It has far exceeded my expectations and the DIY wine dispenser in the dining room is awesome! My initially impression of Paris is magnificent! Not so humbly submitted, Michael C.

Yelp
Stayed overnight at the Hotel Crayon Rouge whilst visiting Paris. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a lovely and unique place. Our room was comfortable and full of nice small touches. The location is unbeatable as The Lourve is just down the road. There are also some very nice cafes nearby. Breakfast was also quite tasty. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for a week while in Paris. What attracted us to this hotel was that it was a nice boutique hotel within our budget. We wanted to splurge, but not too much! We were able to book everything online, and check in was a breeze. They are a quick 15-minute walk from the train station, located by several metro lines, and within walking distance of several tourist attractions -- including The Louvre. The staff was so incredibly nice and helpful. They even came up personally to refill our water bottle so that I didn't have to hop in the elevator and do it myself. Our room was fantastic! It was so funky and unique. I really enjoyed coming back to it each night. I can't remember which room we had, but it was on the 5th floor, and it wasn't the Rose one. It has all of the amenities of a modern hotel, which is sometimes hard to find in Europe. They have room service, but we didn't take advantage of it since it was walking distance from several bistros and cafes. There's a wine bar in the lobby (not included, unfortunately!), fresh food, and basically everything that you'd expect in your own kitchen. It was incredibly homey. Checkout was quick and easy, and the staff happily pointed us in the most efficient direction to get to the airport. We were celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary, and I'm very happy that we chose to spend it there.

Yelp
For our baby moon, hubby surprised me with a trip to Paris! A year ago, we stayed at the Hotel Crayon by Elegancia and absolutely loved it, so hubby booked Hotel Crayon Rouge this time around so we can stay around the same area (Louvre). The lobby is so cute with the front desk directly facing the front door, kitchen (breakfast area) on the right and sitting area on the left. The elevator behind the front desk takes you upstairs to all the rooms. The front desk was incredibly nice (no rude Frenchmen here!) and the room itself was SO cute! The room is decorated true to Hotel Crayon style, hipster wallpaper design, odd shaped mirrors, and my absolute favorite - little "stars" in the showers (see picture). We had breakfast at the hotel about 4 times. There were plenty of options to choose from and everything fresh. I had so much food every time, plenty to last me the morning as I explored the city until lunch time. My favorite part of the kitchen is the egg cooker, so much so that I bought the same one when I got home. =) Seriously, these suckers have measurement cups that help to cook up the PERFECT egg. Although I'm obviously not drinking right now, the wine dispenser was intriguing (see picture). When it came time to come home, I was sad to leave the hotel, especially Olivier the house fish. Bottom line - Highly recommended, great location, less than 10 minute walk to the Louvre, plenty of shopping and restaurants near by, friendly and competent staff who all speak fluent English, clean and stylish rooms.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at one of the studios there and It was pretty cool. I reserved the little Haussmann studio and I was very excited, however approximately one week before I got an email saying the lift was broken so they can move us to another room or cancel our reservation. I think offering a cancellation at that point was not an option so they just moved us to another room. Well I checked the room on their website and It was smaller than the studio I chose first so I kindly asked to use the stairs and kept the studio. Hugo was very nice and moved us to atrape le revè Studio which is bigger than little Haussmann. That was really cool! Moreover when we arrived the lift was working again so we didn't use the stairs at the end. The studio was small but beautiful and the area where is located is pretty quiet; also is located very close from The Louvre museum. I believe this was a very nice deal, great location, good price, excellent customer service and a very cute room. I absolutely recommend it.
