Stayed for 3 nights. Allowed early check in which was much appreciated. Clean room. Kind ladies cleaned, tidied room and replenished supplies daily. Solo traveller so bathroom/wc glass walls alright but might be an issue if two sharing room. Easy reach of main Geneva train station. Kind reception staff lent me adapter for use during my stay. Tip from fellow reviewer to request hotel to email Geneva transport card very helpful.

The location is the best there is in Geneva, it is also few mins walk from bus station if you are planning to take the bus to Chamonix . The service is excellent. They give the room to you as long as it's done cleaning and available. We got it as early as 9am. They provide free transport card which is so convenient in going to UN building and everywhere. The hotel is just basic , but everything we need is there. We got 2 rooms , 1 wit triple occupancy for my children. Surrounding the hotel is a lot of good restaurant options too.

I stayed at Hotel Cristal Design in Geneva for two nights and had a fantastic experience. The hotel is modern, very clean, and incredibly well located, just a 5–10 minute walk from Geneva train station and close to shops, restaurants, and everything you might need. It’s perfect for business. The staff were warm and welcoming throughout my stay, and I’d like to give a special shoutout to Salomé, who was exceptionally professional, efficient, and helpful, such a pleasure to interact with. Her friendliness and attention to detail made a real difference. The hotel gave me the free shuttle pass for the duration of my stay, which was great!|The room was well priced and very comfortable. The only small downside was the lack of an overhead shower (just a handheld one), but the water pressure was excellent, so it wasn’t a big issue. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I have already recommended the hotel to colleagues and friends.

My strategy is to book a hotel within walking distance of the train station, and Hotel Cristal fits this criterion. PROs: Walking distance to a vibrant shopping streets, e.g., Mont Blanc, Berne, etc., and plenty of eateries. Small cozy hotel room with all the convenience, clean, and topnotch shower! An off-season reasonable price. Excellent breakfast on the 8th Floor with a fantastic view at sunrise! Polite breakfast assistants. Nice lounge area which I never used to relax or do anything. CONs: Room could use a larger TV screen. More central lightings needed even though eco-friendliness is at play here. Hotel still uses traditional room keys with heavy metal keychain - imagine carrying that around town in your backpack! No free local newspapers for customers. Front desk staff could be a little less formal. But again chitchat is optional, and staff is a bit too cold and formal. An excellent choice after all. Recommended.

Cristal Design is a modern style hotel, the room is very small you have to be very creative to arrange your luggages. The hotel is in an excellent location close to the train/tram and bus stations. It’s walking distance to the old town. It also have great shopping centers and supermarkets close by. The price is reasonable for travelers.

Although I only stayed for 1 night, it was definitely worth it. The room has airconditioning and fit for the summer months. Wifi is good and strong. Bed is super comfortable! There is tea service and security safe/vault in the room. All in all totally worth the stay.

Terrible experience at the hotel Cristal. |No soundproofing at all (could hear every noise from every room), WiFi too slow to make a phone call, not to mention trying to work (I had to assess student video exams, was unable to see a single one) Asked for a quiet room in advance - was given a room opposite a building site. No apologies, no politeness. Receptionist Marco refused any help, refused to restart the router, was saying that it is normal to have only ‘a little bit of WiFi’ in the room and freely admitted they they lie about the soundproofing but not enough customers complain for them to have to address it. I come to Geneva every week for work and know the hotel scene. This is very poor indeed - avoid at all cost.

This morning during checkout, I encountered a shocking error: the front desk staff asked me to pay 96.10 CHF for the city tax! This was clearly unreasonable, as when I booked the hotel, the system clearly indicated that the city tax would only be a few francs. I immediately raised an objection. Two staff members discussed the issue (I couldn’t understand the conversation due to the language barrier), and eventually confirmed that I only needed to pay 3.50 CHF, which was the correct amount. Although the issue was eventually resolved, this kind of obvious mistake made me feel very uneasy. If I hadn’t spoken up, I could have been wrongly overcharged nearly 100 CHF. I sincerely hope the hotel staff to avoid such incidents in the future and prevent unnecessary trouble for guests. I recommend future guests double-check the amount carefully before paying any charges to avoid being mistakenly overcharged.
