Very Athentic small 16 room boutique hotel. Joe air conditioning but it wasn’t that hot when I was there. Gloria the owner was great made me feel at home. Great views wonderful little pool. Perfect location just a few blocks from the Malecon

This little hotel is absolutely beautiful in every way. From the lovely patio to the incredible view from the rooftop bar, to the authentically quaint rooms that are clean and comfortable. we had a fabulous time and met some wonderful people staying there. We loved the restaurant as well. The food was incredible, the service was good, and it was such a pretty place for dining. There is live music as well. We realized that if we had drinks at sunset on the roof before hand, it was wise to make a reservation for dinner so there would be a table available for us as the restaurant seemed to be full nearly every night. We hated to leave actually, and found out that during the month of April, there will be a "two-for-the-price-of-one" special at Cuatro Vientos that inludes the rooms and also meals at Chez Elena. We are seriously thinking about going back! What a great trip!

The hotel has about 15 guest rooms. No televisions in the room, no telephones in the room, usually plenty of hot water and electricity. Gloria is a wonderfully helpful and knowledgeable hostess. Her staff is the best and most have been here for years. The Church of Guadalupe is only a block away so you get to hear and enjoy the bells. Breakfast starts at 8:00 or so and many of the guests stay around until 10:30 or 11:00 telling tales of travels made and journeys taken. ||||The hotel sits up the hill from downtown with wonderful views, often whales and dolphins can be seen from the roof deck. Taxies are inexpensive in PV so if you do not want to walk up the cobblestone street you can take a cab to the front door.||||The roof top happy hour bar is great for watching sunsets. The restaurant serves great meals at a reasonable price. There is a pool if you want a dip in fresh water.||||I have stayed many times and keep being drawn back by the unique experience.||||Love ya Gloria,||||gary

We wanted to love this place. Seriously cool looking, old, great Mexican tone about it, the best margaritas we may ever have had (and we've had a lot), lovely restaurant. But mattress was so hard it was an uncomfortable sleep (and we have been travelling in Mexico and South American for 6 years so we know about Mexican mattresses, and so much noise we were repeatedly woken. I make no reference to the churchbells which I heard much of the time (because I was awake) but otherwise slept through because I'm not a light sleeper. Dear Los Quatro Vientos. If you know we are gringos, why don't you get and put us on some pillow tops which you put over the mattresses the nationals like to sleep on, because you must know how uncomfortable they will be for us without them? Lovely people, everyone we dealt with, but the last straw was the dreadfully strong garlic aroma which permeated the courtyard at breakfast time. We are garlic people, but this was so infiltrating and so heavy it was almost nauseating. Yes, that was the scrambled eggs which were put out a short while afterwards. Thanks for your suggestion hotel in written material (which failed to include wi password details thanks for that so I couldn't work early in the morning thanks for that) that we make the breakfast chef appreciate a tip we might leave, but no thanks. Such a great property, what a pity some concentration on what gringos need to make them happy (not demanding unreasonable gringos, read my many positive reviews of properties in Mexico) made us so unhappy. Lift your game, come on, it would not much add to your nightly rate, and it would be so worthwhile!

The rooms are always clean and well maintained for being one of the last colonial hotels in PV. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The quiet and mellow atmosphere, plus being so close to PV central is what draws me. It is my home away from home in PV.

This is one of the originals...very authentic and local flavor. Not for the tourist but for the traveler, this is a quaint little hotel with stunning city and ocean views. The restaurant, Chez Elena, is excellent. I lived in Puerto Vallarta for years and would often frequent this restaurant for special occasions. Definitely worth a look see....even if you aren't staying there.

This tiny hotel has a good restaurant, Chez Elena. The best part is a wonderful rooftop bar named El Nido from which you can look down upon PV and the Malecon. This is where we spend our evening to kick back with a cocktail (or two) and watch the magnificent sunset.||||It is a several block hike straight east up into the hills from the Malecon. Walk up Corona street to Calle Matamora and turn right one half block to the place. Half of the taxi drivers seem unaware of it. Or, just walk the five, or so, blocks up the hill.||||We have always felt secure there. No problem if you do not speak Spanish. When you are ready to leave, ask and they will happily hail a reputable taxi driver for you.||||Try to arrive an hour before actual sunset. It is worth it. This used to be a diamond in the rough but the word has gotten around and you'll want to be able to snag a comfortable seat. It is not really a children's area.

Ditch the resort! Extremely authentic and quaint hotel. Super friendly staff. Excellent views from the roof top bar. The restaurant is excellent. Easy beach access. I would not stay anywhere else is Puerto Vallarta.
