Hotel D Gomar

I would not recommend staying at Hotel D Gomar for several reasons: • Cleanliness Issues: The bed sheets were extremely dirty when I arrived. When I asked to have them changed, the receptionist was very dismissive, questioning why I even wanted new ones and downplaying the stains. To make matters worse, the "new" sheets he provided were even filthier than the first set. It was honestly disgusting. I don't understand why a hotel can't provide basic, clean linens. • No Wi-Fi: There is no Wi-Fi signal in the rooms, which made it very inconvenient. • Poor Service: Beyond the issue with the laundry, the overall service was unfriendly. I didn't feel welcomed or helped during my stay. Bottom line: There are much better places to stay on Isla Mujeres. Save your money and go somewhere that values hygiene and guest service.

We visited during January 8 - 12, 2017. We stayed on the first floor facing the street. The room was clean and had a comfy King size bed, mini fridge, tiny tv and a big walk in shower. If you are a light sleeper this may not be the room for you because it is right beside the public area. The breakfast is served early and it gets noisy because everyone hangs out and uses the free wifi, its the smoking area as well. Its a good place to meet other travellers so it was fine for us. The ferry is located directly across from the hotel so super convenient for heavy luggage. Be warned there is no elevator so be prepared to haul your own luggage. The owner was pretty cool and helpful. He noticed we weren't eating breakfast everyday so he asked us if we wanted eggs instead of the normal fruit and toast, which was very thoughtful. The cleaning staff were awesome too. Our room was cleaned everyday and towels changed regularly as well. If you're not fussy and are on a budget this is the place for you. A good place to people watch and enjoy the view. I'm sure the view is better on the higher floors, but like I said no elevator. I totally recommend this hotel. We enjoyed it.

Not the best hotel on Isla but easily the best value. It has a great location -- near public beaches, restaurants and just across the street from the ferry. The evening view from a higher floor is spectacular. But be aware there is no elevator.

For the price , it's great. Right across the street from the ferry. Easy to find food a 7/11 is a very short walk down the street. My room was clean , a/c worked really well. Bathroom was clean , hot water in shower takes a few minutes to get hot but it does. Staff was really kind also. Wifi area on the first floor. 👍

Our stay at the hotel was in some ways better than expected given the price we paid. We were fortunate in that our room was only one flight up as the hotel does not have an elevator. We have been staying in luxury accommodations in general and where trying to economize by staying here. The things that we missed the most was no safe and no shelves or dresser. We started out with 8 hangers but I broke one by putting four shirts on the hanger. On the positive side the included breakfast was quite nice with fresh cut fruit and either eggs or a ham and cheese Mexican kind of thing. The room has an air conditioner and a flat screen TV along with a nice size refrigerator. The bathroom is modern and the whole room is very clean. The beds are comfortable and the sheets are not abrasive. The hotel is very convenient being downtown directly across the street from the ferry. In conclusion if you're looking for an economy Hotel this is a good choice.

The hotel is a four story hotel with no elevator and narrow stairs. It is directly across from the ferry port and is convenient to the downtown area. Playa Norte beach is walking distance from the hotel. Great restaurants and bars are also within walking distance. The best rooms are 104 and 204. These rooms has a balcony and are at the front of the building-good views of harbor. The a/c units are not great but they do cool the room. There is no safe in the room. There is a refrigerator and a tv that has basic cable reception. The beds are not the most comfortable. The mattresses should be replaced. Frank the manager is great and has great knowledge of the island. This was the second time we have stayed here. The last time was in 2008. I would still recommend this hotel as an averge hotel but a fun place to stay

I stayed at this hotel with my mother and son. Like the reviews stated, the beds are comfortable and it’s right across from the ferry. But I have to say I would definitely recommend this hotel because we accidentally left my mom‘s passport and over $700 after we checked out and came back the next day and they had it for us. Very thankful for their honesty. My mom struggled with being on the fourth floor as there’s no elevator so if you’re traveling with someone elderly, request a room on the first or second floor.

Frank & his staff made us feel like family. Rooms are clean, beds comfortable & we had lots of hot water. Breakfast is more than sufficient. Fresh fruit, toast, coffee and daily features available.||Location is good. Close to the center of town, beaches & restaurants. Right across from the ferry terminal.||We would definitely stay here again. ||Thank you Frank and staff for a great stay on Isla Mujares.
