Hotel Daibutsu Museum

The architecture captivated me at first sight. I had to pay an entrance fee—just 1,000 won, which isn’t expensive at all—and honestly, it’s worth much more than that. There’s so much to see here, from how hotels looked in the past to how people lived back then. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting.

Very good preserved. You feel the real atmosphere of beginning XX century. Loved it.

Quite nice to see 1st hotel in Korea and learn about Incheon city as a gateway of Seoul. It was quite interesting most of Korea no.1 was on Incheon. However the leaking point was "No English explanation"

Amazing how this place is still being maintained to preserve history. I got to see its different looks using the incheon easy app. It was kind of fun to see and also hear an explanation in English on the audio guide.

We can have a real experience using the AR/VR technology.

2025년 11월 25일 방문 외관은 지나다닐 때마다 보게 되지만 내부 관람은 이번이 두 번째다. 호텔에 관련된 전시관이다. 우리나라 최초의 서양식 호텔인 대불호텔이 1888년 이 자리에 건축됐다. 개항직후 일본인에 의해 2층 목조건물(1887년경) 숙소가 지어져 영업을 하다가 그 옆에 3층 벽돌 건물로 증축(1888년)하여 영업을 하게 된 대불호텔이다. 영업이 쇄퇘하던 1918년 중국인 라이더 위 안에게 매각했고, (중화루)란 북경요리 집으로 성황했다. 그러다 1950년 한국 전쟁을 겪으면서 중국인 운영자는 팔고 미국으로 이민을 갔다. 빈 건물로 있다가 1978년 건물 철거가 이뤄지고 인천시에서 2013년에 매입해서, 현재는 당시의 모습 그대로 재건축 됐고 전시관으로 운영 중이다. 당시 호텔에 관한 여러 자료들을 관람할 수 있다. 건축 도면도 있고, 이 건물 밑에는 당시의 지하실 일 부분의 흔적들이 남아 있고, 그대로 보존돼 있어 유리벽 밑으로 확인 할 수 있다. 호텔뿐이라 부족한 전시내용을 근현대 역사로 전시내용을 풍성하게 채웠다. 어린 아이들에는 미로탐험의 재미를, 어른들에게는 추억을 선물해 주는곳. 통합티켓을 구매하면 저렴하나 3시 이후로는 개별판매하니 참고해야한다.
