Hotel Daniel Graz, a Design Boutique Hotel Graz, Austria

"This design hotel next to the Main Train Station in Graz is only a few minutes’ walk from the historic Old Town, the convention centre and the Kunsthaus. Guests check-in at the Daniel’s modern espresso bar, where the staff take care of you 24 hours. The smart room prices are the same for 1 or 2 people. Designed by Berlin-based designer Werner Aisslinger, the Daniel Graz and its modern guestrooms bear his functional and innovative, yet elegant signature. The hotel's facilities include a fireside lounge, a breakfast terrace, and an internet corner. Free internet access is available everywhere in the hotel. To explore the city, guests can rent a Vespa, bikeboards, or the original Piaggio Ape Calessino and a picnic basket." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

Hotel Daniel Graz (Graz, Styria) Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Austria’s second city is a youthful town, a university town, and thus perfect for a hotel like the Daniel. After all these years finally smart modern design is available at budget rates: there’s nothing at the Daniel over 100 euros, and in fact the most basic rooms start at €69, a price that in most towns guarantees a fairly sad experience." - Tablet Hotels

Google
We loved the hotel & room. As always when we travel to Europe, there are things that are unique, we find that part of the fun of traveling! The staff were so friendly and helpful, everyone we encountered. The room was clean and comfortable. The best was the location and ease for getting to the center and to the next city we visited. Excellent

Nice hotel with unique character and original ideas. I loved that they produce and sell their own honey, offer bike rentals, and explain the hotel rules clearly on a one-pager. But what stood out most to me is how they’ve preserved some original design elements of the hotel. It gives the place personality and sets it apart from those uniform, look-alike hotels. The only downside for me was the bathroom setup. The shower overlooks the bedroom, the sink is in the entrance area, and the sliding door only lets you close off either the toilet or the shower, not both at the same time. Because of that, I’d recommend it more for solo travelers than for sharing. The location is convenient, right next to the train station and just a 10-minute walk from the city center. Breakfast had plenty of options, and the staff were friendly. I’d definitely return.

I was very satisfied with this hotel. It takes only 1 minute from the central rail station. The location is perfect. Even though it is just beside the station, the front of the hotel was not noisy nor dirty. There were some restaurants and marts nearby, it was quite convenient. The exterior and interior of the hotel were modern and sophisticated. I liked my room. The bed and the sofa were really comfortable. And it was very good to have many electric sockets for my gadgets. The bathroom was clean and nice also, but the glass partition could be some embarrassing to some people, although I loved it as a sole traveler. Overall, the room was designed in consideration of guests, with a space-efficiency. But surprisingly, there were no refrigerator nor coffee pot. I didn't have breakfast here, cause it was rather expensive considering the hotel price.

We had breakfast there on a Sunday which lasted from 7:00-11:00 and cost 25€ per person. The breakfast was very delicious, with a wide range of food. It’s a buffet so absolutely perfect for a great breakfast/brunch on the weekend with your friends & family

Spent 1 night. Great room, spacious, quiet, with balcony. Shower glass - visible from bedroom (strange, why?) Comfy bed, but Horrible pillow! Been to 7 hotels in the past 3 weeks, these pillows are the very worst. 15 minute walk to main tourist area

Google
A good hotel in the close proximity of Graz main station - and as the location suggests, their target audience would be train riders. Drivers beware - the hotel's parking lot costs 15€ a night. There is a plethora of different tourist's booklets available at the reception, so that every guest could explore the city in their own unique way finding activities/events they would love

I will never come back. The room was too small for the price, no receipt, room cleaning was a joke. In the room the sink was in the bedroom. The parking was advertised at a price only to later be changed. Again no receipt was ever given. Restaurant only has 2 burgers and 3 sandwiches that are very expensive. The breakfast was the only good thing.

Google
Unfortunately not fully recommended anymore. What until a few years ago had still been „vintage“ and fresh at the same time, has grown quite worn, tired, and isn’t particularly clean either. There is a permanent smell of mothballs in all corridors and rooms. The friendly staff at the reception indicated that renovations are indeed planned. We‘ll wait for those to be completed before we‘ll give it another try.

Yelp
Urban smart! For a fun, stylish, practical and inexpensive stay in Graz, go with the Daniel hotel. Located within walking distance from the Graz train station and minutes from the city center, this hotel was recently fully remodeled to offer all the comfort and practicality needed by all types of travelers. What stood out the most was the atmosphere of the lobby and restaurant areas as well as the breakfast which was incredibly fresh, varied and good. The room was simple and small but modern, comfortable and clean. The hotel offered daily Vespa rental for 20 Euros! They also had bicycles and a Vespa tricycle for rent. And the hotel was pretty quiet for being next to the railway tracks.

Yelp
Good breakfast, ok location, rooms are fine for the price (no safe or mini fridge, just bare essentials). Good location for someone that works within 15 mins walk from office. It's also about a 20 mins walk to city center.
