"Hotel Daniel is unerringly cool. Cue smart modern suites, a bakery serving a rotating lunch menu and hammocks in several of the 116 rooms. The hotel is itself a landmark; it was built in 1962 by architect Georg Lippert, who also created the Daniel’s sibling hotel in Graz (this happy coincidence was only discovered by owner Florian Weitzer after the purchase)."

Hotel Daniel Vienna, a Design Boutique Hotel Vienna, Austria

"The Daniel Vienna combines individual design with a location right next to Belvedere Palace and the Main Train Station. It offers garage parking, free WiFi and a restaurant called The Bakery sourcing herbs, vegetables and fruits from its own on-site garden. Each room in this hotel features a flat-screen cable TV and air-conditioning, and a bathroom with shower, toilet and a hairdryer. Bikes and Vespa scooters can be rented on site, and check-in is possible 24 hours a day. Hotel Daniel has its own beehives on the rooftop. The honey and homemade shampoo are among the souvenirs sold in the Daniel Shop. International cuisine as well as homemade cakes and pastries can be enjoyed at The Bakery. Apple trees grow on the roof, and the boat there is an artwork by the famous Austrian artist Erwin Wurm. The famous Ringstraße boulevard in the centre of Vienna can be reached on foot in 20 minutes or by tram line D in 10 minutes. The tram stop is just a 2-minute walk away from the Daniel." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

Hotel Daniel Vienna (Vienna, Austria) 35 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Plenty of hotels in Vienna have neat rows of luxury sedans conspicuously displayed at their entrances. We’d venture that Hotel Daniel is the only one with an aluminum trailer parked in the front yard — more precisely a 1952 Airstream, retrofitted by a shipwright to look like something out of a travel-themed issue of Dwell. In fact transportation is a theme that’s integral to the hotel’s aesthetic, from the Erwin Wurm sailboat sculpture with its twisted hull hanging off the edge of the roof to the Vespas and vintage cruiser bikes waiting for guests to take a ride. Short on pomp, long on style, Daniel is evidence that Vienna’s hotels just might be growing young again." - Tablet Hotels

Overall, the hotel is not bad. One clear advantage is the free parking, which was very convenient and appreciated. The hotel itself feels pleasant and well maintained. Breakfast was good and tasty, with no major complaints. The rooms are simple and rather small, but clean. The bed was comfortable, with good pillows and a good mattress, so sleeping was fine. The interior of the room is quite basic, without any special details. The windows were dirty, with visible marks from birds. The view was facing a park, which was quite nice. The price-to-quality ratio is difficult to evaluate, especially considering that Vienna is an expensive city. However, when compared to other European countries and cities we have stayed in during our travels (the Baltics, Poland, the Czech Republic, Italy), the value for money does not stand out. Overall, the hotel is acceptable, but it did not leave a particularly strong or memorable impression.

We had an amazing room with views of the modern Belvedere quarter on one side and Belvedere Castle as well as the city centre on the other. The bar and restaurant were also really good - I recommend the burger! They have some issues with the old and very drafty windows, but apparently they can't do anything about it because it's a heritage building. No big deal though. Over all, we had a great time here.

Hotel is very easy to reach by car. Have own garage space near hotel for 22e per day. Public transport is near hotel. Rooms are strange, no bathroom only closed wc and in room is visible shower and very small sink, no wardrobe but bed is excellent. Also good noise protection.

A bit out of the way from the main city but within walking distance to tram network and took about 15mins to get there. Trams are regular. Purchased a vienna city card but no barriers, no inspections, walked on and off with no checks. |Room was basic. Not great. Sink was inside bedroom, separate toilet and shower. Had to request kettle but had coffee machine. No fridge. Very small double, no twins if ur travelling with a friend be prepared to get cosy. |Room was incredibly hot. Air con doesn't work just heat. Opened window to cool down but a bit dodgy to leave open all night on floor 1. |Very noisy hotel outside right by a main road with lots of activity outside from traffic, emergency services, bin collection and bell ringing what felt like super early in the morning. |Have to request housekeeping and even though we did, didn't get it. Not sure if it was a weekend thing |A small restaurant, pleasant but limited menu. Decent price drinks.

What a fantastic stay! Location - the property is located about 15 mins walk from Wien Hauptbahnhof station, which is a direct RailJet service to the airport for 4.60 EUR. It also has several tram and bus lines running by stops even closer than that. Getting to central Vienna is easy via these options, and other sights like Schonbrunn Palace are relatively accessible, and comparable to other hotels located in the city centre. Rooms - my room was conveniently located near the elevator on the sixth floor, and provided an excellent view over the Schweizergarten. The property is on the smaller, more boutique side, so the elevator is never going to be too far from the room. The lobby is also small which means you can literally go from walking in the door of the lobby to the door of your room in a minute; the same can’t be said for larger properties typical of the major brands. The room was surprisingly spacious, was cleaned every day (which I was very surprised about, a rarity in Europe these days!), the bed was comfortable and the temperature easily controlled. The only thing I would note is the water temperature control in the shower was overly sensitive, but once you get it set to preference it’s fine.Staff - the staff were excellent: friendly and professional. The restaurant staff were also excellent when I visited for dinner one evening. Value - perhaps what I was most pleased with was the value. I paid less than half of what similar properties were charging for my dates, though granted I booked several months in advance.I’d highly recommend the Hotel Daniel if you’re booking a stay in Vienna!

I stayed at this hotel on September 29th. The room was completely different from the photos on the website. It was very small, with the toilet on one side of the room and the shower and sink on the other side. The hotel is also right beside a street, and the car noise can be heard clearly inside the room. Definitely its not 4 stars hotel.

Wonderful staff made all the difference. Stayed for a 4 day business trip. Staff were fantastic throughout, rooms really nice, breakfast good ( a little pricey) It was a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Big credit to the English guy and the young girl that really looked after us from the restaurant/ bar that used my name throughout and are a credit to the hotel. I would definitely stay here again. Bravo!

Google
Fabulous modern hotel ideally situated 5 minutes walk from the main train station. Special shout out to the gentlemen on reception (apologies we didn't get his name) who calmly organised a taxi to get our passports t(which I had managed to leave in the safe) to the airport so we could catch our flight home on time. This was on the 22nd September so thank you so much. Loved the funky touches around reception and the restaurant. a really nice place to stay next to Belvedere Gardens.

Yelp
Review is for the restaurant. This place was easily the coolest room and best service I experienced in Vienna. The staff here broke the mold of Viennese coldness (my general perception of the Viennese); my server was warm and friendly while still being appropriately efficient. Turned out he was English. The food was outstanding of pricey; £17 for a turkey burger is a high price, but it was ultra-gourmet and delicious so I can't complain. And their signature apricot cocktail was outstanding. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I really enjoy the hotel Daniel. It's in a close enough spot that you can get most anywhere in the city by car within 10 minutes, so the prices reflects outside the city enough. You can certainly see here and online the pictures of the restaurants and bar. That whole area downstairs is really hip and fun. Every time we come in or go down for breakfast there's fun music playing and it just has a good vibe. To add to that, everything we had to eat was really tasty. The veggieburger especially was one of the better ones I've had and the hummus starter was fun as well. I sort of stayed away from the breakfast myself because I'm not a big sweet eater in the morning, but it's really a big breakfast buffet if you're interested. Their rooms were really nice and comfortable. The bed especially was quite soft and I got one of the Hamic rooms which was kind of fun to hang out in from time to time. My only complaint here is that I had one of the road facing rooms so I could hear traffic pretty late into the night and early in the morning.

Yelp
My favorite hotel in all of Europe. Their restaurant had the best food I ate in Vienna. In my four day stay we ate their restaurant almost every day.

Yelp
What an adorably chic hotel in Vienna- somuch better than the stuffier options of the Riding School and other lackluster European hotels in similar price points. The rooms were minimalist in style, with comfortable beds, entertaining hammocks and excellent views from the windows that covered 3 out of 4 walls. In the lobby is their kitschy kitchen/bar where they serve up a fabulous breakfast buffet, with fresh bakery options, cereals, cold and hot breakfast staples. A colleague joined me on their patio area for wine and appetizers which we thoroughly enjoyed. They had a hummus sampler that was creative with the 5 versions they presented... When in Vienna, I'll be back--they've won my business and I've already recommended to several friends!

Yelp
Disclaimer - I didn't actually stay here! But I know friends who were, and we came by for dinner one evening - as they loved it. Their room was rather funky, coming with a complimentary hammock. The place is verrrry cool and hipster, and it has a fun, relaxed feel to it. I like the quirky signs all over the place. They make no sense, but it's different! There's a melting boat hanging off the roof. Yep. The food we had for dinner was excellent. Really great. The menu is relatively small, but it's done well. I had the turkey burger - very much worth a try! They also serve very decent and potent cocktails here! For dessert, you pop up to their bakery/deli/patisserie counter and choose what you're after. You can get cakes/bread/snacks there all day too. Not the cheapest place for a meal I'd say, but worth the extra pennies. A little out of the centre. I'll stay here next time I'm in Vienna, that's for sure.

Yelp
More like 3.5 stars. The location is a bit out of place. But it is close to Belvedere so that's a plus. I stayed in panorama and had a decent open view. My room also came with a hammock which was lovely. The hotel itself has a wonderful concept and is extremely well decorated but I think the execution is poor enough to bring the whole rating down. For example there is no hand soap. What's been placed next to the sink is a 3/4 empty bottle of shampoo/body wash. Buttons on remote control were dysfunctional. I also wish my window screens could actually go up. Overall my stay was decent but could have been better.

Yelp
This time we thought: do something smart. So we did, and we booked us into the Hotel Daniel. Smart Luxury is what they call it. A very nice place to stay. Read more: http://staydine.com/18c2w9J

Yelp
We loved the Daniel- friendly staff, beautiful, clean rooms, great food, wonderful location. LOCATION It's a a 20 min / 1 mile walk to city center through lovely neighborhoods alongside the Belvedere (which neighbors the hotel and was my very favorite attraction while there- Klimts galore). The walk is a great way to burn some calories so you can eat all the guilt free goulash and schitzl your heart desires! ALSO, the streetcar I'm pretty sure is super easy and goes right to city center from the hotel, we just opted for walking around instead. ROOM Clean, perfect! One thing to know is that the shower is adjacent to the bedroom divided only by glass, so be comfortable with your traveling partner. HOTEL GEN Perfection. Great food and coffee, a little shop by reception with local wines and wares, and any necessities you may have forgotten.

Yelp
Hotel Daniel is affordable and such a wonderful stay! I was a guest for about 5 nights an enjoyed the service, fresh breakfast and unique atmosphere the hotel has to offer. The hotel is family run and each aspect of the design and service has been well thought out.

Yelp
A very bad copyy of the Ace Hotel formula. Very badly wants to be hip but doesn't make it. Ask for a room with a view. Mine faced a wall and a neighbour's window . The room was very small and claustrophobic, with an extremely loud air system that kept me from sleeping. The restaurant has excellent coffee, but breakfast was not great. Many items cost extra and the atmosphere is more Dutch than Viennese. I got food poisoning, probably from the smoked salmon, and spent the rest of the day in and out of toilets, difficult since i was traveling. Not one of my best hotel experiences!

Yelp
Hotel Daniel is located close to the center of Vienna (3 Stations with the underground, which is reachable in a 5 min. walk or one stop by tram). The rooms are modern, clean and of normal size. With about EUR 90 for a double room of good value. The staff is friendly and uncomplicated. Specially to mention is the great brunch buffet, with bread coming from the Bakery (See review: Bakery in Hotel Daniel).
