We had a lovely stay at HD Charme — a beautiful hotel with so much potential to be a full five-star experience. Highlights: The bed was incredibly comfortable — one of the best nights of sleep I’ve had in a hotel. The food service was amazing — high quality, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The staff were consistently polite, professional, and attentive. And the pool… just wow! The massage jets were an unexpected luxury. A few small details that could make it perfect: The shower head didn’t have full water pressure. The window in the pool area wasn’t very clean, which takes away a bit from the otherwise beautiful space. The elevator walls and some corridors had visible scratches and could use a little touch-up. The TV wasn’t connected to the internet, so it wasn’t possible to access modern platforms like Netflix or YouTube — a small detail, but one that today’s travelers often expect. They’re minor things, but little details matter — especially for a hotel that already delivers such a strong sense of luxury. If these finishing touches were refined, HD Charme could easily stand among true five-star destinations. Two small suggestion: instead of offering a late check-in meal, it might be nicer to give guests the option to enjoy a complimentary lunch the next day — it feels more relaxing and in line with the rest of the experience. Always check the bikes before you rent them out. We took two out and one had no breaks, luckily my husband was on it and he was able to manage the fall and not hurt himself. Overall, a wonderful stay — we left rested, well-fed, and already thinking about coming back. 🌿✨

What a wonderful hotel. Everything is tastefully decorated. Rooms overlooking the Lake were of a good size and bed was super comfy. We loved the friendliness of the staff and the time they took to make us feel well looked after. The food was great at all meals, breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner with a good selection of wines and cocktails. Stefan in particular, introduced us to an Amaretto sour which we both really enjoyed. We spent time in the pool, great view of the Lake and my husband enjoyed the gym. We also treated ourselves to a massage. We were a bit unsure at the start as it was a male massuer, which we had no experience of before. However Diego was great, my Italian is not so good and his English is not so good but we me muddled through. My husband said it was the best massage he has had outside of our regular sports massages. This stop was only a short 2 night stay as we headed West for a week in the mountains. What we thought was a 7 night stay in the mountains turned out to be 6 night stay so decided to head back to Hotel De Charme, Laveno to indulge in the surroundings and hospitality once again, so glad we did, it was just as good as the start of our holiday. Massimo, I will book direct next time :)

This has the potential to be a fantastic hotel. The location is brilliant, rooms and facilities are clean, tasteful and modern and the food is broadly excellent. Staff are generally very helpful and friendly.||Unfortunately it is limited by some basic issues we experienced:|- Our room had hot water only in the mornings, and this was not addressed during our stay despite repeated requests. |- 'Air conditioning' in our room was limited to 21 degrees by management (why?) and not changed after multiple requests, requiring us to buy an upright fan from a nearby shop at our own cost.|- WiFi is terrible and intermittent and more or less missing from the pool area.|- The outdoor pool area had less beds than the hotel has rooms and the linked apartments also have full access. The hotel and apartments were not full when we stayed but the outdoor pool area always was, with some guests unable to find space or having to sit in the indoor pool area. This is probably even worse in July or August.||There are also some other issues that could help it reach its potential:|- The outdoor rooftop pool is heated even during hottest parts of the day (in summer.) Unnecessary and would be better unheated for cooling and refreshing dips.|- No poolbar, which is fine as its a small hotel and pool area. But to get any drinks requires descending and the ascending (with drinks) 2 sets of lifts or stairs over 2 floors. A better solution would be an app to order drinks for staff to bring to pool.|- The restaurant is sometimes understaffed for breakfast and / or staff could be more efficient in their tasks - several times all were clearing tables and then all in the kitchen, with none available to serve. We had to wait 10 minutes to order a coffee at least twice.|- Portion sizes for evening meals are often small. This can be offset against the more or less unlimited and equally tasty self-service starter food.|- All guests have allocated parking in the underground car park but the car park is not very well signed, meaning that finding the correct bay for your room can take a while when checking in.|- Charging for electric vehicles is available but costs. I would expect this to be gratis for paying guests.

My husband had stayed here for business and said it was wonderful, so we booked for five nights as a break away on our tour of Italy. On arrival we were greeted warmly and had help unloading our car and checked in. Welcome drink and nibbles offered and all the services explained. Went up to our room where our luggage had been delivered. Lovely large room with a Juliet balcony overlooking the lake. Very clean and bathroom excellent size and with all the bits and pieces you’d expect of a five star hotel. As an all inclusive luxury hotel we went down to have a drink after a days travelling. Service was extremely slow and we had to find a waiter rather than them keeping an eye out for patrons. This remained the case the entire stay. Service was mixed..some times you get nibbles, others not. Evening meals were excellent with a good choice. You are allocated a table for your stay. We had a nice table at front of far restaurant. Buffet salad, then your choice delivered to the table. You serve yourself to wine from the buffet. We returned to room on night one and turned on the air con. Nothing! Just a lot of noise. We decided to sleep with door open instead and reported the next morning which we did snd were told it had to be switched on by reception which they did. This was after discovering you can only use the hairdryer on its lowest setting or it cuts out (we had a replacement from reception and it did exactly the same). Day three and the air con still not working so they offered to move us which we accepted as was too warm too sleep without it. Moved room and air con in that room was marginally better but not vastly so. Hey ho. Breakfast was again a buffet affair with fresh egg dishes cooked to order. |The all inclusive alcohol tariff was ok..they ran out of whiskey after one night and it wasn’t replaced whilst we were there. Some drinks are not included.|The location is great. Very quiet and some nice bars along the promenade if you want to walk and have a change of scene. You can get a boat from laveno over to Intra which is the hub for boats going across the lake. |All in all it was a pleasant enough stay but some attention to detail, better service and make sure spirits and drinks are stocked and supplied.

I stay at Hotel de Charme every late August / early September for a period of not less than 12 nights and have done so for the past 3 years. The facility is easy walking distance to Laveno / Mombello ferry and train stations and has assigned underground parking. Rooftop heated infinity pool has indoor vestibule entry which allows use when weather might be inclement. Wellness center has great amenities especially the sauna and steam room,||||Food and hotel staff are superb, freindly and accomodating and enjoy re-acquainting every year. Rooms have a commanding view of the gardens and Laveno bay as well as the alps which are visible in the distance. This is the hotel to stay when at LAGO MAGGIORE!

We stayed in the apartments which were really swish. Massimo and the rest of the staff couldn't have been more helpful. €60 dinner menu was very nice with a posh buffet to accompany and buffet wine refills. Location on east side of lake is a nicer vibe than Stresa but lacking much outside the town centre. Good connections to Milan by train.

Laveno is a pretty 4 star boutique hotel, soon to be engulfed by a large residential development behind currently under construction). Lovely quiet rooms on the ground floor overlooking the lake. The food is truly excellent and eating under the wisteria in the terrace overlooking the lake is magical. ||However, considering it’s a 4 star fully inclusive hotel , would have expected a fully stocked mini fridge with a full selection of coffee’s teas, soft drinks and snacks. The mini fridge was practically empty. Even though there is a paper handle on the door in order to request that the rooms are made up in the evening, this is not the case. I had to take out the soggy towels back to reception. Housekeeping is not available in the evenings, even for a bottle of water. These small things make a huge difference sadly. They outweigh the amazing food prepared by the chef and his team.||The garden is pretty and the pool is tiny it’s an angular pool perched on the throes floor. Not made for swimming. ||The food was excellent so I would only consider returning to the Laveno hotel if I used it as a base with days out on a boat on the lake. The swimming pool is too small and rarely gets much sun sadly. ||The food over dinner was

The hotel is located in a beautiful spot with a stunning view. The restaurant was magical, the service was excellent, and everything was truly wonderful. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, and the staff was attentive and welcoming. However, the room was very small – it felt a bit too compact for comfort. Overall, it seems like a great place for couples looking for a quiet and romantic getaway.
