We stayed for two nights. The location is good, the best was the personnel in reception: Every girl was very friendly and professional. The sauna was a pleasant surprise! I give only 3 stars for the breakfast, the personnel of the breakfast, the total price in off season and the room. The rooms are very old and the bathroom needs a renovation, mostly the shower! I would recommend it for a night or two

The perfect place to spend our belated honeymoon. The staff was very courteous and welcoming. The room with the balcony gave us the most peaceful & romantic views. Falling asleep to the sound of the crickets & cowbells was magical. It is close enough to the Chateau to easily walk in & enjoy the village but far enough to have peace & quiet. We will be returning soon hopefully ❤️

Our family's stay at Hotel de Gruyères was truly exceptional! The hotel itself is a beautiful, historic building that feels like a step back in time, offering a charming glimpse into the region's prestigious past. It's a place where you can really feel the history and enjoy the peaceful, quaint atmosphere. One of the biggest advantages was the hotel's private parking. Being situated high on the mountain, this saved us from the often tiring task of hauling luggage up the steep slopes. The location is absolutely perfect, providing breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. It's a photographer's dream! The hotel's close proximity to the iconic Gruyères Castle and the picturesque village made it the ideal base for exploring the area. We could easily walk to the castle and wander through the charming streets of the village, soaking in the local culture and beauty. A delightful and memorable touch was the room keys, which were charming little cowbells! It added a fun, unique, and authentic Swiss element to our stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home. They were always ready to answer our questions and offer recommendations. We especially appreciated the discount vouchers they gave us for the shops in Gruyères village. Hotel de Gruyères is a 5-star experience that we highly recommend. It offers a perfect blend of historic charm, stunning views, convenient location, and exceptional service. It's the ideal place to create lasting memories in the heart of Gruyères.

Amazing location, great view from our balcony. Bed was a bit hard. We had a bathroom with shower and bath which was nice. Perfect location for walking into town or hiking in the hills nearby.

Despite the lovely setting of the hotel and the gorgeous views from my room, I found this hotel lacking. While my room was clean, it was extremely basic. Although I stayed in the ‘best’ type of room, with purportedly nicer decor, the room was basic, with no decor to be spoken of. Furthermore, the room was quite old fashioned, and would benefit from updated furnishings and a new lick of paint. I’ve stayed in much nicer 3 stars in Switzerland, at a fraction of the cost. And at this price I feel like the rooms need a significant upgrade. The breakfast was also extremely basic, with poor, if not slightly rude service, and food which when finished was not replenished. The service was also poor at the restaurant. With some tlc and improved service, this hotel could easily stand to charge what it does, especially considering the location. But, currently, the price is extortionate considering the quality.

Views here are amazing, not from your room though. Well not the room I had. Rooms very very small, bathroom shower configuration very poor. No cooling fans in room, summer can be very hot. Service was OK, didn't have breakfast, so unsure quality. Had dinner here very good, but only fondue options, which was great first night, but went elsewhere second night.

Traditionally Swiss hotel in many ways. Lots of dark wood interiors and carved wood etc. the headboard on our bed had a painting of edelweiss. Quite a climb from the station if you arrive late in the day as there is no bus after 6pm. The hotel is beautifully situated, being just outside the main part of the medieval village and just off the tourist trail, whilst looking out into the mountains at the rear with a field of deer below. The staff were lovely. We were worried about missing check in after 8pm but the receptionist explained this would not be a problem. The room was small but with a great view. Wi-Fi was good. Sockets tend to be a bit of an issue for us at times. We had to boil the kettle on the floor as the lead was bit long enough and the sockets were low down. A very nice breakfast room, helpful staff and extensive choice. Altogether a relaxing stay.

We loved our stay at hotel de gruyères! Phenomenal location, comfortable and cozy rooms, very friendly staff, and great restaurant!||Not only was our room cozy, but the view was incredible! Looking out to rolling hills, cows, deer, biplanes, and the storybook-like views you can only find in Switzerland is incredible. And the bed was comfortable.||You cannot beat the location. Nestled at the entrance to the medieval city, staying here allows you to both easily walk anywhere in the city and park your car in their lot right by your rooms. No lugging your briefcase over cobblestones to get to your hotel in the medieval city, and no driving to get to the medieval city. And you aren’t sacrificing any beautiful architecture staying here - it’s a great building.||The restaurant is so good! We had a lot of fun with the raclette, and the ice cream and meringue dessert was huge but super fun.||If I ever came back to Gruyeres, I would definitely stay here again. We had a great time!

Yelp
We had three lovely experiences at this restaurant during our four night stay in Gruyeres. We left every meal noting the great customer service and how lovely the atmosphere was. Note that all menus in Gruyeres are extremely identical so good customer service is a great way to set them apart. During our three visits we tried a variety of wines, Cafe Vienna, the beef broth soup, fondue, raclette, meringue and double cream, liqueur soaked cherries with ice cream and double cream and the salad. One dish that set this eatery apart was their version of the Brazilian pan de queso with gruyere stuffed in the center (perfection!). You'll notice that this restaurant takes over two buildings across the street from one another with patio seating as well as indoor (two levels). We really appreciated that they allowed us to share the one serving size of both the fondue and raclette (ordering two portions is not only too much food but pricey as well).

Yelp
What an amazing tow. In the middle of Zurich and Geneva this place has the most wonderful mountain views and a truly breath taking castle. I can't wait to come back in winter. If your interested in Alien movies HRGiger has his museum here as well as his bar.
