Hôtel De La Comédie

One of the worst, depressive, old and dirty Hotels I have stayed in so far. Entry Hall smelled like sweat. The first single room they tried to give me smelled like someone was smoking in there. Window could not properly be opened. I asked for another room, which I had to pay extra of course. I got a 4 Euro deduction. No real blanket, the fake woollen one I found in the cupboard had a cigarette burn. Place looks like the haven't been renovating for quite a while. That they do not feel ashamed to rent these rooms out for 84 Euros a night baffles me. Nobody should pay their hard earned money at Hôtel de la Comédie I am serious! Not recommended!!! P.S The guy at the counter was nice. Not that he has to pay the price in the end. It is in the city centre so location is good but not nice. The street is definitely one of the more ugly ones here in this beautiful city.

The rooms are not as clean as in the photos and the furniture are not in good condition!!

Great location, very close to Montpellier St Roch station and to the old quarter of the city. Staff were very friendly & helpful and the room was clean and acceptable for the price. We had a great time during our 3 night stay and would come back again. Would recommend Hotel de la Comedie for a short stay.

Functional, however plumbing and bathroom fittings were falling to bits, hall lights are off by default, so when you get out the lift you are in total darkness. Also when I booked a twin room I got 2 single beds and not a double. Place is totally fine if you are on a budget.

Central location in the heart of Montpellier. Super warm and friendly hotel staff. My room was small as expected for the super low price. Everything worked perfectly. Comfortable bed, decent bedlinen, fresh soft white towels, hot and powerful shower, wooden coat-hangers - all the details that make for a good stay.

I want to leave and find somewhere else to stay was my first impression upon seeing the room I was to sleep in. But I thought I should man up and save myself hassle and money so stuck it out. The room was depressing l can't think of anything positive to say about it. But on first glance the room next door looked ok, so maybe some rooms are alright. I wouldn't advise anyone to stay there if they care about their surroundings. But if you're not fussed about that the positives are the location and people that work there.

In a quiet street, yet a great central location, this is just as a traditional French 2* hotel should be. Our 4th floor room was small but clean and comfortable. Staff on reception were friendly and helpful and stored our luggage both before and after our stay. Breakfast was included, standard French bread and croissants, perfectly fresh. The hotel is walking distance from the railway station and very close to tram stops. The old town, which has lots of sights and restaurants, is very close.

everything is old! in the rooms it smells terrible. the carpet is very dirty. I do not recommend. The window in the room where I stayed does not close. The shower had mold and the shower furniture was rotten. I will attach some pictures!. The price is comparable to the area!
