I stayed at this hotel during a recent week-long trip to Paris and had a very good experience. The hotel is located in the larger Marais district, but is closer to the Place Bastille. It is convenient by Metro, either from the St. Paul station (about a 6-7 minute walk) or the Bastille station (maybe 5 minute walk). It is located on the main street through the area - Rue de Rivoli/Rue St. Antoine and my room faced the rear of the hotel so I did not have any noise issues. The hotel is a 3-star hotel so it is clean, comfortable, safe, but not a lot of frills, which was all fine by me. The pictures on the website are an accurate portrayal of the rooms - they are not large, but are comfortable. The bathroom was also big enough and well-equipped. The hotel is also safe as you need your room key to access the front door as well as the elevator and the lobby is staffed 24/7. One of the great things I found during my trip, which included 3-4 days of a serious heat wave, is that the air conditioning works very well and kept the room very cool and comfortable when the outside temperature was at or near 100 F. Another plus was a machine in the lobby that dispensed cold water to fill up your water bottle before heading out for the day. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Overall, I would recommend for a Marais stay in Paris.

Great location, small (as expected) clean room. A few things we didn't love. 1) The bathroom door had no lock or latch and slowly slid open. 2) The pillows were too large, and forced you to sleep further down the already short bed - I am 5'6" and my feet stuck off the end! 3) The noise transfer from other rooms was too loud. We could hear the woman clearly in the next room when she made phone calls. Noise from the street was great - very good windows. After check in I received a welcome email saying our comfort was there utmost priority, and to let them know if there was anything they could do. So I replied about these 3 items and never received any response, which was disappointing. I never pushed the issue with the staff on site. Also there is no room safe. Breakfast was ok for the price we paid and included bread/pastries, cheese, yogurt, fruit, cereal and hard boiled eggs. But the coffee from a machine was not very good. It was also a bit strange to share the breakfast room, with the "front desk" person who was lurking over us. FYI - there is no front desk, just a person with an iPad, who was helpful.

Location was perfect: within walking distance of Notre Dame, Le Marais, the metro of La Bastille.|Considering the location, the room was a decent size and we liked the windows out onto the street side. The bathroom was small, but clean. However, it smelt a little musty if you shut the door, so we tended to leave it open to let air in.|Staff were excellent and very friendly, always willing to have a chat when they saw us. Whenever we needed extra coffee, tea etc., it was easily available from the lobby. |We had a great stay here.

Tidy and updated room- only had to wipe some spots on the toilet seat.. a shame but seemed to have cleaned too quickly. Brilliant service and comfy beds

Google
Perfect location and super accommodating staff. Room is just ok- but really that’s all you need if you plan to do Paris properly.

Google
Hotel is fine, great value for money, location is good right beside the metro stop. Rooms are abit small and you can hear a lot in the corridor. Friendly check in staff.

Yelp
The room was clean and it was a successful place to sleep and leave. However, they do not let you have more than one pillow or towel per person(hair, face, if you spill something, nope). They don't supply soap so bring your own! It felt very much like a cheap air b&b. But for the price you are paying I feel they could do more. We even said we don't need our sheets changed and they said "we will see what they want to do". The morning guy wasn't the greatest with communication and made us upset more than once with his lack of communication and overall respect to us being tourists.

Yelp
This is the best cheap hotel option I have found in Paris (and I have searched pretty extensively!) without resorting to staying in a hostel. This hotel's best feature by far is its location. It is right in the middle of the Marais on Rue St. Antoine, very close to many major metro lines. It is a quick walk to the Louvre, the Seine, Notre Dame, etc. Unlike other cheap hotels I have stayed at in Paris, here the rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. You absolutely cannot beat the price for a room here. The only downside is that some rooms do not come with a bathroom, thus making it somewhat hostel-esque. I have stayed here several times before and will continue to do so in the future. Thanks Hotel de la Herse d'Or for providing such a wonderful and affordable option in Paris!

Yelp
Got back from Paris last week and had such a fantastic stay here. The location is unbeatable right in the heart of the Marais and walking distance from several metro stops. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the room was newly renovated and comfortable with a flat screen, wifi, and a beautiful exposed stone wall. Could not have found a better place to stay especially for the price and location. Would recommend it to anyone staying in the area whether traveling alone or with others.

Yelp
The room was no-frills, but it was clean, well-maintained, and in a great location. The bed as very comfortable - much better than the average bed in a hotel for this price range in Europe. I would definitely return. Also, it is near such amazing food and shopping - PERFECT location for a girl's weekend, a romantic weekend, or a family trip (so close to the Metro).
