The only good thing about this hotel is the location and the fact that it is a historic place. Our room was dirty; humid; it was not possible to close completely the door-window in the room; the table and the chairs on the balcony were dusty; no hair dryer in the bathroom, but instead - there were cockroaches. The whole place needs maintenance and the girls that do the cleaning should stop piling the dirty bed sheets in the corridors, leaving them overnight.

Cannot comment on rooms, but the design, architecture, and features were beautiful. The vibe was an old convent with genuine feel. There is an outdoor pool with a GREAT VIEW. I went to the bar El Minero, great pricing and service. Most of all a little balcony with once again THE BEST VIEW OF THE CATHEDRAL. Can't comment on the food because kitchen was closed for cleaning. What earns the 5 stars is the view.

The hotel has a very nice lobby/common places, full of greenery and overall nice vibe. The pool could have been cleaner though. The room was decent, the beds quite comfortable. The city view from the balcony was great. I didn't particularly like the window into the hallway from the bathroom. It felt really weird. A safe in a room would be nice. Sadly the wifi in our room was super slow or even completely inaccessible. The location is good, about 15 minutes from the city center, and it's directly on a main road.

This is a small Airbnb hotel in Taxco. The room we got was rather small. The owner was however very helpful. The rooms were kind of expensive considering this is really a small town. But I guess these are tourist prices. The restroom does not have a door. Only Curtains. Kind of embarrassing

We were with a tour group and stayed for one night. The hotel was in a great location overlooking the town. There were great views from all the rooms in which the group stayed. We were fortunate and had a large suite (Room 139A) on the top floor, but other rooms were smaller, but were of a reasonable size. The room was clean and comfortable. There was no lift, but staff carried our cases up the many stairs. The water in our shower was only just warm, after a long wait for it to heat up, but some others had no problem. Breakfast was very good buffet.||The main square was a pleasant walk through a narrow main street threading through the buildings. It was a great little town or village with friendly people. We felt very safe walking to the main square. There were a number of restaurants within easy walking distance. Three of us went to Aldino’s Pizza and had great pizzas, served by very pleasant and helpful staff who readily communicated with us in English.

This hotel is much better than some of these reviews suggest. Many types of accommodations are offered, including economically-priced rooms high up, with balcony and amazing view. We stayed in such a room, which was basic but clean and comfortable. Typical of many Mexican hotels, the beds consist of a mattress on top of a concrete pedestal. This makes them harder than a lot of people prefer but after a day tramping around this hilly, high altitude city, few will have trouble sleeping. Air conditioning or at least a fan would provide a more comfortable room in warmer weather, which is April to November. The beautiful pool and poolside terrace with are among the hotels strongest features. Far from finding staff unfriendly we found them helpful and accommodating - even calling after checkout to let us know of items left behind in the room. NOTE: It would be impossible for mobility impaired people to use this hotel because of the many, many steps. If you can climb a few steps some of the rooms are semi-accessible, but there is a full flight of stairs to go down from the lobby to the restaurant where breakfast is served. It appears the buffet breakfast is included in most room rates. Frankly it’s nothing special but was quite acceptable and staff are friendly. Check out the allusions to Taxco’s mining history in parts of the hotel.

It is an old family hotel with very nice atmosphere. It lacks renovation but it is worth visiting. Swimming pool is OK. Nice views. 20 mins walking to the city center (Borda). It has an O'Gorman mural.

Just stunning! The hotel is beautiful. Room was clean, great service at the front desk and the bar. Tall bartender and the short lady at the bar and pool area were awesome ( took care of us). The city view from our balcony was breathe taking. Fell in love with Taxco, will be going back.

Yelp
THIS IS FOR THE MINE TOUR ONLY. 5 stars According to a fellow Yelper, there has been some shady business with the hotel staff and customers' belongings. Which takes away from the 5 star review. I came here to take a tour of La Mina. It's a silver mine that was shut down hundreds of years ago, and only rediscovered 4 years ago--locates underneath the hotel! The tour is only about $150 pesos, and includes a drink afterwards--I'll get to that. The tour guide was so patient and informative. Most people here only speak Spanish, but he would translate into English for me the best he could. I was able to ask some questions in Spanish so I could better understand. The mine is VERY cool. I learned a lot! Afterwards, you can see a mural by Juan O'Gorman & Diego Rivera, constructed in the 1950's. Your drink token can be used at their poolside bar with breathtaking views of Taxco. I ended up staying for dinner on the balcony, and was the only person in the whole place! It was perfect, and the food was incredible. I would come back to tour the mine again, but per my fellow Yelper, would be wary to stay overnight.

Yelp
Please beware of severe theft. Taxco is a gorgeous place. And this hotel is marketed at a 5-star rating. A few years ago I stayed here and was completely robbed within my hotel by the staff. After several attempts, I could not do anything to resolve this. When we entered our room the doors were completely locked and our bags were seemingly untouched until we looked deeper. It was clearly an inside job and two MacBook computers were stolen along with some valuable clothing items. It was such an awful experience to feel helpless. I randomly decided to see if this place had any reviews and found that there was a 5-star review. I wanted to make sure and share my experience so no one else was misled. IF you still decide to stay here please be very very aware of and safe with your things. Do not leave your blinds at all open. I believe that is how the wait staff was able to see that our bags had valuable items stored in them. Please be careful.
