Hotel De La Paix Lugano

We had a wonderful time in Lugano, and the Hotel de la Paix was an important factor of our comfortable and enjoyable stay. The location, so close to the lake, to the centre of the city, and to public transportation, is ideal. The rooms are clean and well appointed. There are plenty of spaces to meet and mingle. The service (from the people at Reception, to the Concierge, to the servers in the Breakfast Room, to the servers at the bar...) was excellent; everyone was understanding and friendly. The breakfast buffet is abundant, varied, and delicious. We also found it to be a good value, and we plan to return there when we visit Lugano again.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel de la Paix.. Rooms were immaculate, The beds were very comfortable,,the breakfast was delicious - plenty of food that was freshly made and the coffee was great. |I’d like to thank the staff at the front desk , who were very helpful and attentive, and in particular the concierge who was exceptional. She was patient with us, answered all our questions , and always with a smile. I would recommend this hotel highly, and will stay again on our next trip. |Location was great, a short walk to the lake and downtown.

Absolutely loved this hotel. From the moment we walked in the door the service was simply superb, and was consistently excellent throughout our 3 day stay. No matter which staff member was at reception, at breakfast, or on house keeping, they were happy, smiling, helpful, efficient and professional. Clearly a very well managed hotel with a brilliant team of people. Great room, really spacious. Fantastic location, a couple of minutes walk to the lake, and with bus stop to Lugano station right outside and the Ticino ticket was great to get around for free on public transport. Lovely pool too and great breakfast. Will definitely be back.

We stayed September 1-4, 2025. ||We booked the top floor suite. It is very dated. The furniture is red velvet and had lumps and was torn around the bottom. The curtains were very similar and at least 20 years old. The suite had a very musty smell (likely from the carpets and old furniture and curtains so we had to leave the terrace doors open. ||The room however was very spacious and big and the bathroom had been redone and was really nice. ||The staff were excellent with the best and most helpful being Antonella. She was so helpful and lovely. ||If we were to go back to Lugano, we would try a different hotel, because of the musty smell and dated room!!!

A great hotel for our short stay in Lugano. Check in was a bit slow but pleasant. Room was clean and comfortable with a nice balcony and great view. Location is great with a short walk to the water, then a great lake view walk to the main city centre. Enjoyed the cool swim in the uncrowded pool on a hot day(towels provided). Breakfast was solid except for the cold eggs and lukewarm coffee. Service is very good. |Tip: Hotel offers good value, so I recommend, If you can, book directly with hotel through the website to save them the cost of high third party booking fees.

We visited Lugano for two nights late June 2025. The hotel was truly amazing. It is located near the lake in Lugano, with conveniently offered free public transport (which was welcome due to the pressing heat making the otherwise beautiful lake side walk too warm mid day). The room was spacious and clean, and the service was excellent. Me and my son enjoyed swimming in the hotel pool. The breakfast was great and the restaurant La Terrazza Neptune was nothing short of fantastic. We recommend the hotel to anyone and will for sure choose it again if ever in Lugano.

What a great discovery: couldn't have picked a better hotel... perfect mix of tastful and elegant yet not too posh (very spacious classy rooms incl balconies with a view; nice hotel bar), great location and facilities (decent pool and on-site parking). Antonella (Guest Relations) makes you feel like a VIP from the second you arrive (in fact, even before - having proactively checked in re when we arrive, what we need, etc). All other staff has been friendly, too. Can't recommend enough - will be our go-to hotel in Lugano!

We had a very pleasant stay. Great location - few blocks to Paradiso, ferry and beaches; also store and restaurants are around. Free outside parking, inside parking is 20Chf/day (which is also a good price for this location). Free electric car charger. Nice size swimming pool. Decent breakfast (wish they don’t charge extra for omelettes). Rooms & hotel itself is a bit old and you can see some signs of needed renovations but hotel is a historic building with its own charm. Good value for this price overall.

This was a charming, old-style European hotel; lovely staff and nice amenities. Great location as well; just a couple of blocks off Lake Lugano. I was really surprised at how spacious the rooms and bathrooms were - not very typical in Europe! Their breakfast buffet is quaint but more than sufficient.

beautiful hotel, friendly, centrally located, we walked 1 minute to the lake arriving and jumped in! Evening was nice with a swim, drink outside the bar with live music.

Stayed here for one night in July. Great room with a sea view balcony, very friendly service at check in and at the bar. Good location, refurbished rooms with spacious bathrooms and convenient parking.

Beautiful hotel of the area and big rooms. Bien comodos...very clean with nice gardens.

Very nice and friendly hotel. The rooms are a bit small but that's not necessarily unexpected for Europe. Everything was clean which is obviously critical. The hotel staff was extremely friendly upon checkin. I'll stay here again without issue.
