Our stay at Hotel de la Plage Mahogany in Cassis was truly exceptional. The rooms felt like something out of a fairytale. Room 16, with its beautiful garden view, was huge—first a single bed area, then a spacious full bathroom, and finally the main room with a queen bed and an additional single, a closet, desk, TV, air conditioning, water kettle, and complimentary bottles of water. It was simply a dream. The hotel is perfectly located just across the road from the beach, with its own private club where you can enjoy drinks or a meal right in front of the sea. The beach itself is small but absolutely beautiful, and the hotel is conveniently close to the departure point for kayak tours to the Calanques. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of variety, and the view of the sunrise over the beach made it unforgettable. The only point for improvement would be the reception staff—some of the women came across as unfriendly. However, the night and morning male receptionists were very kind and helpful. Overall, an amazing stay that I highly recommend

Not sure why people would give this hotel anything less than 5 stars. Absolutely GORGEOUS views if you have an ocean facing room. The room is up to date and modern. Our balcony was very large. The staff were all so incredible sweet! The whole terrace where the bar is is spacious and comfortable! You are directly across from the beach and about a 10 min walk to town. There is also a very relaxing pool/ spa in the back of the hotel. We did not use those facilities but when I walked back there it was beautiful. Would definitely stay here again if we were to come back to Cassis!

Beautiful hotel! Very nicely decorated and comfortable rooms/beds etc. Really friendly service. Would definitely recommend to friends and would stay here again! An easy (but a little hilly!) walk to town and all the restaurants. The beach restaurant across the street was good for a meal. We had a great time here!

Nice hotel in a good location, a walk from the town and not suitable if you have limited mobility with limited taxis. Manager a nice friendly chap, rest of the staff seemed a little junior . Real clean rooms and around the hotel. It’s expensive for a 3 Star but likely due to location and limited hotels area. Rooms on lower front floors noisy in the morning due to deliveries from 5am. Biggest complaint from me, no real coffee just a horrible machine for self service. If you stay go down to the beach for a decent coffee. Overall worth a visit

Google
We had a brilliant stay at Hotel De La Plage. It's perfectly located across from the beach, with great restaurants right there, and a 5 min walk into town. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, the rooms were excellent with great views - it also has a cute little pool area for relaxing and a fantastic brunch on sundays. Highly recommend if you're staying in Cassis.

Google
The perfect spot for a short stay in Cassis. Ideally located right by the beach, with a stunning terrace offering drinks and snacks and breathtaking views. Just a short stroll from the picturesque port of Cassis. Designed in elegant French Riviera style with great attention to detail, and featuring high-quality mattresses to ensure a restful night’s sleep and an energized start to your day - all completed by friendly and attentive personnel.

It's a beautiful looking hotel and spa. Unfortunately that's where it ends. I will preface that I was not a guest of a hotel but just came with my wife for the spa services. That's where the problems began. Unfortunately, there was no reception desks to help guide us through their spa area. Next, the hot sauna was not turned and the hammam spa was not turned on, which was a big reason for choosing this spa. My wife spent quite a long time researching spas in the near area and found this one and was quite excited. Disappointingly, to top it all off, what was for a few minutes a relaxing time next to their pool turned for the worse since someone decided to bring their toddler - who was quite loud. And, with no attendant or service folks, the pool now became a toddler pool so we decided to leave since we didn't want to stick around for all the screaming and splashing. Very disappointing to see such poor organization and services for patrons. I would give this ZERO stars for spa services if I could.

Positives, great views, nice bar with a view. Breakfast appeared ok. Rooms are clean for the age.||Negatives ||Room was tiny, like a dorm room, bathroom was tiny, hotel is relatively expensive. ||I would not stay here again

Yelp
I was very disappointed in my experience at this hotel. The location is amazing (especially if you want to check out the Calanques if they're open), and the hotel is cute, but the service was absolutely horrendous from the moment we arrived. The biggest issue was that the AC did not work in our room. It was over 40c outside and when we asked them to fix it they told us we could have a fan or move to a room in the back (without the view we paid for and at this point it was already midnight and we did not want to repack our luggage and haul it up the stairs). They then told us we would get a discount but charged us full price for the room. We were told they could give us only 10% off but did not do that. Additionally, when we asked for a beach towel (because the beach is right across the street) she told us they did not have any but we could buy one for 75 euros. We chose to use our bath towels instead as that seemed quite high for a towel. When we got back and asked for clean towels they refused to give us new ones because they said we weren't allowed to take the towels to the beach - but they never told us that. She finally agreed to bring them up to us and said she would be up in 2 mins, but never came so we ended up using hand towels to shower for that day and the next morning. This woman was just not nice and did not try to accommodate us whatsoever. There were a few other small issues - the elevator did not work, so we had to carry our luggage up and down the windy staircase, and our door did not lock which posed a huge safety concern. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that there was a very nice gentleman who worked at the hotel who brought us the fan - but overall I would caution anyone from staying here unless you want to be treated like you're staying in a hostel. For 450 euros per night I expect more and for them to at least honor the accommodations they promise on their website.

Yelp
I'm extremely surprised by these positive reviews. We booked a room on Expedia as it said it was beach front with private balconies or terraces. First of all the BEACH IS CLOSED. Secondly, our room was in a dark alley behind the hotel with no balcony or terrace. We showed the staff the Expedia description, they responded by yelling at us in French. It should be called Hotel pas de Plage pas de Balcon.
