We loved this perfect small hotel. We felt welcome and at home. The superb staff was kind, thoughtful, and generous. The sheets were high quality and beds comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The location is great for exploring the area. A perfect place to stay. We can’t wait to return.

A lovely few days in the delightful town of Dinan, during which we spent three nights at this small private hotel, being a short walk from the town centre and all of its great shops and restaurants. Very pleasant and friendly welcome. Comfortable clean room. Good selection for breakfast. Overall contributed to a very relaxing and good weekend. Definitely on the list of places to revisit

Arriving at Dinan's historic railway station, one has a pleasant and easy walk to the hotel. It is in an old building with traditional features. My attic room on the top floor was small but perfectly attired, with a writing desk and armchair. A comfortable bed for 2 was provided. The shower room was modern, and all functioned well. There is a small garden area, a dining room where breakfast is served to cater for most tastes, and a communal area full of tourist brochures, plus drinks on sale are to hand. They charge by the night and do not require payment upfront. My bill was very reasonable, so they helpfully added 100€. Should you raise any issues, you may be offered a drink! Across the street, a rather rundown house had a loose shutter, which banged in the wind, so a bit of the real France to send you to sleep. The reception staff are welcoming and allow you to practise French should you wish or need to. I would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment. ||

A lovely private hotel within easy walking of the town centre and a range of good restaurants and shops. Friendly welcome and nice clean room. Good self service continental breakfast…. And some nice Brittany whiskey for the evening. Would we go return? Without hesitation - which must be the best recommendation

I love this hotel and Hotel.com messed up my review on their website (phantom reviewer anyone?). So, I'm writing my honest and unfiltered review about this hotel. This hotel is a 10/10! The location is perfect. Close to old town Dinan and a walk to Port of Dinan. The staff here are delightful and always welcoming. They were very helpful and friendly despite us not being able to speak French at all. I truly enjoyed my stay here. The room itself was very clean and well equipped! The bed was comfy and the pillows are great. I did use more than 2 though because I just like a lot of pillows and I'm glad the hotel provide extras! And the breakfast was an Authentic French breakfast with all it's bells and whistles! Perfect stay! Don't miss this hotel when visiting Dinan! Don't believe my Hotel.com review because I had a phantom reviewer (was I hacked? I had words with hotel.com and they weren't useful at all). Love love love this place! Merci Hotel de la Porte Saint Malo!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful and charming hotel that exceeded all our expectations. Kevin and Roxana greeted us with warm smiles and genuine hospitality, making us feel right at home. The staff were professional and available to assist with any needs or questions. The hotel itself is converted from 16th century buildings which are national heritage sites, featuring comfortable rooms and beautiful courtyards that are perfect for taking a break absorbing the sun. Beyond the hotel, the town of Dinan is simply enchanting. With its quaint streets filled with medieval buildings and surrounded by bulwarks, every corner felt like a scene from a storybook. Overall, this stay was a perfect blend of exceptional service and a magical location. We can't recommend this hotel enough!

Nice Hôtel outside of the old town. The staff is friendly and the room is comfortable. We were a family of three and having the extra bed was great. It is suitable for a family of 4. We did not eat here. It is difficult to drive to and the directions on our phone were confusing at times. There is no parking at the hotel. We needed to climb some stairs with our bags to get to the hotel.

Yelp
Stayed here for two nights. Staff very friendly and helpful, they speak English too. Rooms not huge but just what you need and clean. Breakfast good with plenty of things to choose from, including some home made items like caramel! I was here on a bicycle trip; they have separate storage for your bike

Yelp
I had a wonderful stay at the Hotel de La Porte Saint-Malo this September. On arrival we were warmly greeted before the member of staff took hold of our suitcases and showed us to our room. Great service! The room was very reasonably priced and good value for money. Nothing fancy, but it was exactly what we needed (ie. cheap, good and close to town). The front desk was very helpful in giving us recommendations for restaurants within the walled city and other information about Dinan. The location is perfect - just a stone's throw away from the center and its many restaurants and activities. I absolutely recommend the hotel's breakfast that includes croissants, bread, yoghurts, fruit and homemade jam. While I was there I was lucky enough to try the grapefruit jam (a revelation!) and a reine claude plum jam.
