Fabulous central location in the old town with so many great restaurants and bars, yet still lovely and quiet at night. Great decor and breakfast, super comfortable and also friendly yet professional team.

Very atmospheric hotel with a lot of charm and history. It is right in the centre of Valence so ideal for a visit or a stopover. They have a secure car park if you book in advance. Electric car charger available as well. Be aware that there is no lift and access to the rooms is via a stone spiral staircase like you find in old stately homes. The rooms were comfortable. International guests should be warned that the shower+sink and toilet are in separate rooms which is very common in France but may be a bit weird to guests from other countries. There is a pool but it was closed when we were there. Sometimes, there is also a cat who guards the pool.

Arriving was interesting - initially could not find it as there was a delivery van parked across the side road! After sorting that out, arrived and it was just charming. Large gates at the end of the little side street opening to secure parking in front of the tower.||Very castle like as we walk up the spiral stairs - thank goodness there was a fit young man available to help with our bags. A charming and very large room, each decorated well and a comfortable bed.||Service was lovely, they arranged a taxi for us to a restaurant to celebrate a birthday and breakfast was generous and very tasty. Check in and check out very easy.||Thank you for a lovely stay

Fantastic place with spacious rooms! You'll enjoy an authentic French-style breakfast in a cozy ambiance. Located right in the center of Valence, you'll discover great restaurants and lovely boutiques nearby, and golf courses too! This place is a must for all international travellers.

We stayed in this guesthouse on our way from Avignon for one night.  The very large room was lovely by way of furnishings and the bathroom was large and modern.  This guesthouse is in an interesting old building and was basically brought up to standard from being derelict in the early 2000's.  The owners have done a very good job of decorating the place and the breakfasts are served in a lovely room as well and was better than your straight bread and pastries. But, it was on the expensive side for basically a room in a not too exciting a town. Internet was flaky.

the Maison is situated in the old centre of Valence. You expect given the internet projection something nicely situated, the truth is different. The house is hardly reachable by car, not mentioning the possibilities to park. The standard room we got @160 euro/night, was 47 steps upstairs. Spacious room with separate bathroom and toilet. You dont get breakfast included in the price, another 18 euro on top per person, as also the tourist tax is on top of the room price. Wifi is not reaching in the room, you need first to reset the airport express and then to take your pad to the stairs to get 1 antenna. The bed is OK, though no place to hang your shirts and pants. The maison has the potential to become something nice; some way to go to make it worthwhile to stay

We booked this place because we thought it would be good to stay in an apartment and cook for ourselves and do some washing. However the so -called apartment was a very beautiful but sparsely furnished large room with a basin and microwave in a cupboard, no possibility of any real cooking and nothing to cook with. The host was reminiscent of "Fawlty Towers" wondrously unhelpful. Maybe they will soon put more care and love into the place, sadly for now we could not recommend it . Maybe it seemed so bad as all the other places we stayed at were so good and most of them cheaper.Oh and we had requested a quiet room and we had a room on the street!!

An old house that is full of character and preserves the sense of its age while being beautifully renovated. The room we stayed in was huge. The house isn't easy to find: it is discretely hidden behind a large wooden gate (see pic). There are numerous restaurants, shops and cafes within a few mins walk. The helpful proprietor can suggest good places to you.
