Hotel de la Presse

We are a group of 5 friends who stayed here for 3 nights over a weekend. While the location of the hotel is central, the rest of the experience was not pleasant, especially not at that price. We had three very cramped double rooms, with tiny little bathrooms, in which 2 people couldn't possibly be at the same time. There were no towel hooks or rails, but we did get fresh towels every day. The hotel has a funny smell, maybe a bit damp, which is no wonder, seeing as the window in the one room was totally loose and could not even be opened for fresh air. Strong wind would have blown it out. We requested a new room, but none was apparently available. The carpets in the hotel were dirty. The reception staff were polite but not really helpful. Breakfast was ok and the croissants were fresh. We would not return there if we went to Bordeaux again.

The hotel facilities are quite disappointing. Cleanliness leaves much to be desired. The bathroom in the room is very poor. The water has no pressure. The only positive thing is the location. Breakfast is reasonable, but the staff are very amateurish and need more support in replenishing the various foods. Stay falls far short in terms of value for money!

Our stay at this hotel was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was top quality. Very Central location in the middle of the city. There were fresh towels every day and complimentary bottled water, which was a nice touch. For value for money and location, it won't be beaten.

Great location, amazing staff and room was perfect for what I wanted. The single room was compact but great for a couple or few nights on your own.

Booked a Superior Room, didn’t get balcony, chest of drawers broken. Bath/Shower water pressure poor. Could have saved €250 by booking a standard room.

We were 3 mature rugby World Cup supporters on our stay in Bordeaux. We stayed 3 nights at the Hotel and it was excellent. The rooms we were given were comfortable and clean. ||The staff really made this hotel. They're English and local knowledge was great and they were so friendly and willing to help. ||The hotel is situated very close to the restaurants, bars and shops. |

Front desk staff were super friendly, and accommodating. Rooms are good, perfect for a few nights. Breakfast buffet was nice, with many options available. The hotel is centrally located, ideal for first time visitors.

This is a great location and my room was large for an inner-city room. The shower layout wasn't ideal and the toilet was on a step which was a little weird. Otherwise the service was very good and the staff was accommodating when I arrived early for my room.
