The hotel was nice and the staff is friendly. I would give 5 stars, except the hotel overcharged me. It's been a week since the error was discovered. I called. I emailed. I sent the hotel my credit card info it asked for. Still, no refund. I feel like the hotel is not fair to its guests.

Location is nice, in the centre. But the rooms are bad. The sewage smell from the bathrooms gave all my family a headache. It was like you were literally sleeping in garbage. All the rooms are different sized and we had 3 rooms booked with a very clear request to accommodate atleast two next to each other. They put us on 3 corners of a floor. One even required us going through the lifts to another area completely. The service in the restaurant is so slow. Breakfast took an hour and a half to actually materialise and when it did even the coffee was cold. Dinner took forever We ordered room service, it took an hour and 15. None of the staff speak English and even small requests like can we move the double beds closer by literally one feet as we have little children “declined”. This is by no means a Small Luxury Hotels category hotel. Avoid like the plague. Many other options in Morelia

Great rooms, great staff, great food. Very clean and comfortable with excellent service. From the moment we arrived they made us feel like vip guests. Had a small issue with the room I had reserved but they fixed it very quickly. Will plan on staying here again when I visit Morelia

The hotel is beautiful, love the architecture. The food is good, the views are great. The staff is friendly and caring. It’s located in a great area right in downtown. There’s great restaurants around and a lot of transportation near by or around the corner.

Peace, charm, comfort and tranquility are words that describe this little haven. One might choose this for its location smack dab in the heart of the historic district, but one is immedialely captivated by the charm of this hotel. The moment you walk into this hotel, you are greeted by not only the wonderful staff, but the beauty of the patio garden. Any stress that you brought with you just washes away. The nooks and crannies on the ground floor as well as the second floor invite you to sit a spell and relax. The rooms were charming and very comfortable; we had a room with a window facing the pedestrian street, but there was no noise at all. The restaurant is exquisite at night, with great food and the patio all lit up!

Beautiful hotel kept very clean in downtown Morelia. Great staff too!

This is the most charming & cleanest hotel I have ever been to in the world. The staff go above and beyond to secure the hotel, make your stay comfortable, and help answer any questions quickly. We booked an airport transfer through the hotel and they picked us up in their SUV. They had water bottles and snacks and provided a very comfortable experience to/from the airport. The hotel itself is beyond stunning. Photos do not do it justice. It’s also centrally located and a block away from the downtown square, Cathedral, and great restaurants. We also ate at the hotel’s restaurant a couple of times and loved it. The food and drinks were delicious and the presentation was beautiful. The hotel itself is worth coming to Morelia for. We cannot recommend it enough!

This is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever visited. It is an old stone convent, beautifully restored. If you don't stay here, you should at least come and have a meal or drinik or just view the beautiful open air courtyard. Our room was modern and huge, with 20 foot ceilings and stone walls. The bathroom was large and modern. I would give this hotel 5 or more stars except for a few issues. The thermostat was in English (temp in celsius), but it was still difficult to operate. Given the stone walls, there are few electrical outlets. This was not a problem for us, but would be with more than two people. The closet was huge, but there wasn't much drawer space. On one of the two nights there was a bad smell in the room, possibly emanating from the shower drain.

Yelp
I come here at least once a year. This is by far my favorite place where our family can enjoy some delicious food and hospitality. I can't say enough about this place.

Yelp
The first step you take into the foyer is breathtaking. There's a vast array of glass roses and stained glass decor, at the check in there's a wrought iron fencing with hummingbirds lining random spots throughout. The back wall has wooden roses from floor to ceiling! There's an elegance to hotel that can be felt from the very first greeting. The patios are well lit and provide a very chic ambiance. Getting into the suite the ceilings are noticeably high, the exposed stone provide a rustic feel and the oversized furnishings are very appropriate for the room. The true highlight is the magnificent bathroom and vanity area, makes you feel like you're in a full "under the sea" experience. The space is perfect for anyone traveling with small kids. My wife and I were joined by our 8 and 6 year old and the room is absolutely enough for them to sprawl out wherever they want. Bellhops and check in was super smooth and service is top notch throughout the property.

Yelp
Absolutely beautifully kept place. The garden in the courtyard is immaculate every single day, and it truly feels like a hidden oasis. The restaurant Margui is excellent, one of the best fine dining meals at a very reasonable price. Do book early, though, because our first night they were fully booked. The room is very comfortable, with a large king bed and plenty of space. The shower and bathroom are just a work of art with a custom sink and backsplash that looks like mermaid scales. The little reading nook in front of the window is very cute. Even though there are shutters to shut out the light, the street noise does permeate once in a while. Didn't bother me, but husband could hear every loud bang (from maybe cars running over a manhole?). Service is impeccable. We had an issue with a day tour booked through an online vendor, and the front desk personnel was able to help us find alternate options. Everyone was friendly and greeted us. There is always someone at the front door. We left at 6:30am one day, and it turned out that they actually kept the enormous front door closed for safety, but were able to open it for us to head out. The location is unparalleled. You are in the heart of it all, literally half a block from the Cathedral. We were able to finish dinner, pop out just a minute before the Saturday night fireworks, and still had prime viewing spot. For all the other tourist spots, they are all easily walkable as well.

Yelp
Hotel is very lovely. I had a junior suite which was super huge. The bed is comfortable and the seating area is spacious. You have to figure out where to find the remote control for the heater but don't expect it to be super hot. The best part about the hotel is the restaurant. The breakfast was decent but the dinner is great. The cocktails were amazing but do try the more substantial dishes. The complimentary bread is fresh and dipping sauces were super spicy. the steak is amazing. the chile relleno a $6 is out of this world, so you have to get it. There is a local deep fried beef, very interesting. There are varies soups to choose from. The hotel is very secure. There is a guard standing in the front with gated metal door. It's right at the old town square so it's good to eat then go for a walk. I would not recommend eating in local joint unless you know the food can be trusted. This was by far one of the best places to stay and best places to eat. Try to grab a seat near the garden and look out. I dined on my own on the last night there. I needed a break and had tamarind margarita. A total winner combo. If you find yourself in Moralia, please do stay here. Better than most with a great restaurant to boot.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, right down the street from the cathedral. I'm only giving it 4 stars because we wanted to eat there at the hotel (keep in mine we stayed there for three days) but told us we couldn't because their reservation list was full. It would have been nice to know that they had a reservation thing before going back to the hotel hungry just to be told we couldn't eat there or get food taken to the room. Do not get the coffee or cappuccino there it is not good at all. The breakfast on the other hand is very good

Yelp
One of the oldest but remodeled and up to date in Morelia. The workers are very friendly and heblpful and mostly speak in English . The only advice is not to get the rooms facing the street. (Room 403 , if you open the window there is car noise and car smoke in the room and if you close it noisy air conditioner will disturb a good night sleep). The restaurant in the courtyard is beautiful and once you try their food you won't be able to go anywhere else.

Yelp
Let me start with the restaurant... DELICIOUS... it's authentic gourmet Mexican food. All the staff in the hotel are super friendly, they treat you like family and are always willing to help and go beyond. When you walk in,there is always someone there welcoming you. The hotel is an antique beauty. It's a beautiful historical well maintained hotel. It's walking distance from the beautiful cathedral and plaza. It's one of the best hotels we have stayed in. MUY BUEN SERVICIO. GRACIAS!

Yelp
I am only giving this place 2 stars because of the manager. Aside from that this place and the rest of the staff is amazing! I came to Morelia for my birthday and the first night we invited our family for dinner. Instead of going to the centro and eating out we decided to eat at the hotel. Well we were 1 chair short and asked if we can have another chair. The manager did not allow it! We ended up squeezing together in the booth. This man has been making us feel very uncomfortable with the stares that he gives us. We walk by the man everyday and say hello or good morning and he doesn't even acknowledge us and keeps walking. This is not the service and example a manager should be giving! Considering this hotel is like the Ritz Carlton of Morelia. Like I said before beautiful hotel and great staff, just a really bad experience with the manager.

Yelp
To all of my fellow US native yelp friends... Please visit Morelia, Michoacan and stay at this hotel!!!! Morelia is one of the most beautiful cities in Mexico. This hotel was absolutely stunning. From the architecture to the flower beds to the birds all throughout the hallways, this hotel will have you feeling like you're in your own telenovela. My family and I stayed in a room together that had 2 full beds and it was more than enough for us. The doormen were always guarding the front door so I felt safe the entire time I was here. THE LOCATION of this hotel is PRIME.... you walk out and the Morelia Cathedral is right in front of you as well as other fun tourist things such as a tourist bus that takes you to see all Morelia has to offer. You get a complimentary alcoholic drink and complimentary American Breakfast here which were both delicious! I recommend this hotel to anyone and I can't wait until I get to stay here again!

Yelp
Love this hotel and its views. Walking distance to downtown and near restaurants and shopping. For sure coming back again!!!

Yelp
We booked our stay at Hotel de la Soledad without any real expectations beyond hoping for a decent hotel that was central. To say that we were impressed is an understatement! The rooms were incredible (we booked the Jr Suite and it was well worth it!!). Our reservation included breakfast each morning, which was great. This place just had a really great vibe and walking into the courtyard garden felt a little like stepping back into time! We would absolutely stay here again!

Yelp
What a fantastic sanctuary this hotel is. From the moment you arrive in the garden courtyard, you feel pampered. The huge stonewalled suites are tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. Nice plated breakfast and free valet parking contribute to this being one of the best hotel values I have ever found.

Yelp
The best hotel I have stayed at and I have stayed all over the world. We spent 3 nights at Hotel de la Soledad and wished we stayed longer. The beds were very soft, a/c was cold, and the stone walled/covered bathroom was immaculate. We gave our waiter an extra breakfast voucher in the courtyard restaurant and the waiter brought the extra back up to us to let us know we only needed 1. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. The decor is detailed and the wooden window covers in the rooms allowed us to have privacy but also catch the cool Mexican breeze of the September winds. Location is perfectly set off of the busy square but within walking distance. Internet was spotty in the room due to stone walls, so we sat outside in front of the room to connect to the courtyard WIFI. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful! I LOVED this Hotel! Without doubt a five star and one of the nicest hotels I have ever been to. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff, they were ALL extremely friendly. The suites are beautiful, VERY CLEAN, tastefully decorated, spacious and very comfy beds. Our suites had balconies with gorgeous views. The grounds and the views to the courtyard are breathtaking. The courtyard is very comfortable and relaxing. The restaurant was very accommodating and very flexible to your needs and wants. The food was fabulous! A special thanks to our waiter Alejandro (Alex). Extremely polite, professional, knowledgeable and very friendly. A very delicious breakfast was included (traditional mexican breakfast). The location of Hotel de la Soledad is perfect in Morelia. Less than a block from the Cathedral and Centro. Walking distance to so many great locations. I would definitely return and highly recommend to others. Loved every minute of our stay.
