Do not listen to the negative reviews. When you read them, it is all people who were not patient. The food is all unique, fresh. The view is perfect French country/cliffs. The people are real. They bring you delicious food. They are part of the experience, do not abuse them.

To be honest I’ve wasted money to stay in that slum hotel, well the pictures shown while booking is completely different than what it’s actually it’s not a room but a small box with dirty bed and even there’s broken shelf’s in it, the bathroom is not clean, the bed linen has strains on it I think that wasn’t changed as well, I would have given zero for everything WiFi is not working and even when I asked the manager in the reception was so rude he said call the people to whome you booked the hotel and ask for WiFi. AC is also not working, hair dryer is just there as a show piece In short I can say this hotel is dirty with no facilities but with untidiness I would recommend to everyone do not book this hotel for sure you will regret

We enjoyed the modern restaurant and the staff were very friendly. With a view of the sea. The terrace and gardens... very nice. Our room was very small and poky for the money, but quite pretty, no view of the sea though. It is worth a walk to the beach as there is nothing else to do, just one lonesome quiet hotel.

Although there was a mistake with our booking, we were welcomed very friendly by the landlady and her husband. Our family room unfortunately was overbooked, however we got the appartement which proved even more comfortable than expected. |We had some drinks on the sea viewing terrace which was great, and were placed in the serre with (again) the marvelous panoramic sea view. |Both dinner and breakfast were very good served by a kind and professional staff.||From the hotel it’s only a 5 minutes downhill walk to the beach and a 20 minutes to the charming Église Saint Valery (George Braque’s cemetery and decorated by Michel Ciry and Marc Chagall). ||Hotel de la Terrasse is a typically family owned hotel where you personally meet the owners and their love of hospitality. We will definitely come back whenever we’re in the neighborhood!|

We were fortunate to enjoy two wonderful days' weather when we stayed here. The restaurant is excellent but the management seems to rest on its laurels in respect of the rooms which are very basic and outdated; we did have a sea view and the location must be the principal draw.||||There was no offer to take our cases to our room; we were told that the door was a little stiff and I felt like Catarella in Montalbano as I practically had to shoulder charge it to open it. My wife could neither open nor shut it.||||Nor do I find the French insoucance about food allergies to be acceptable in this day and age; you are treated as though you are a food faddist rather than someone who could be made seriously ill or even die if they were to eat the wrong thing.||||It's a shame that it is so lovely in many ways but could be so much better.

A total horror !!! Be aware !!! Still angry even it’s after a month , never believe this is happening !!! Long story short , we made the reservation via 2 times emails and the owner confirm we will have a terrace seats! When we arrived , you can see 4 staffs chatting but no one talk or greets you ! After 5 min standing there , finally a women ( I guess she is the owner ) asked us : what do you want ? ( wow, I thought it’s a restaurant and hotel , what can we want ? ) and we showed her the emails of the table reservation then she took us to a very corner without any view !! We tried to ask her why you confirmed our reservation then she said : Fine fine fine !! Go go go !! Very soon began telling us to leave !! Unbelievable!!! Trust me , don’t come here !! Horror !!

The pictures looked so promising and the setting is beautiful.... but as for everything else it's dreadful. There's no hospitality, just handed a key to the room. There's no-one around to order a drink/ask about region etc. unless it's restaurant opening time. Then to the room - oh dear - small, very, very old but not in a good way. Everything has been cobbled together just to make the room work as best as it can. Small uncomfy bed. The bathroom was a horror - very old rusty shower cubicle and a toilet placed in front of the window so you couldn't even open it!! A bigger person wouldn't be able to sit properly on the loo because it's so near the sink. ||On the plus side the views are lovely as it's situated on a high cliff. There is a walk down to the sea, but not to the beach. The gardens are pretty too. The restaurant was good, but we were half board and weren't told when booking that there would be no choice. We've eaten just as well and better in other places in France. It's Table d'hote only for those on half board.... and it isn't cheap!!! If the proprietors were more friendly and accommodating I wouldn't be writing such a harsh review, but having been in the hospitality business I could write a long list of all the things they DIDN'T do. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, there are so many other beautiful places I'm sorry we didn't stay in one of them.

We stayed here on the worst day possible - the Sunday France won the World Cup. Naturally staff, like everyone else in France, were a bit pre-occupied but they still gave us wonderful service. Dinner cost only 25 euros each and would have been more like £50 if we had the same meal in Britain. It's in a beautiful spot with a lovely pathway down to a near-empty beach. Beds are very comfortable, rooms are stylishly furnished. Views are great and gardens are lovely. During our trip to France we stayed in hotels that cost 50% more and were not as good.
