Hotel de l'Abbaye

We absolutely love this place and already plan to come back here. The hotel is located in a nice and more quiet part of Lyon. The view from our hotel room windows was great. The staff of the hotel went out of their way to give us a great time. Everyone was friendly and helpful 24/7 and the unloading parking space around the corner is super handy for getting luggage out of the car before going to the parking garage, which the hotel reserved for us. The rooms are super clean and have everything we could ask for. Modern safe, tv, wifi, minibar, delicious nuts, superb shower with choice of washing products and nice comfy beds. My wife, daughter and I really enjoyed the delicious breakfasts with a great choice of breads, sweets, fruits, etc. This is an outstanding hotel which we give a big thumbs up and an A+++++ for service and quality!

This is an absolutely fantastic hotel! They have a temporary parking space where you can unload and help you with reserving a spot in the nearby parking garage. Staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to give you a great time. Rooms are very nice and clean with everything you would expect in a hotel. Very good view and a quiet part of town. The breakfast is perfect 👌

This is a small hotel located on the island between the Rhone and Saone rivers. It's not far from shops and restaurants, and a 15-minute walk from the old city, St. Jean Baptiste cathedral and Notre Dame de Fourviere basilica. The service at this hotel was first rate. From check in to departure, the reception staff was friendly and helpful. The room had modern decor, despite the building being adjacent to a medieval abbey. We had a king room with a sofa that could be used as an extra bed. The bathroom was spacious, and the room had a mini bar with complimentary water and juices. A nice breakfast buffet was offered, along with a day lounge and bar area near the lobby. My traveling companion became ill during our visit, and the front desk attendant found us a doctor nearby and called a taxi to transport us. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant visit, despite her brief illness. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lyon for business or pleasure.

This ancient building houses a well designed, very clean, dry quiet, modern hotel. The only slightly negative note is that the room is very small. However, the clean design, muted colours, and luxurious linens made up for that. The reception staff was exceptional, especially LiLou who got me some ice when I took a tumble on the cobblestones and asked after me several times. She was friendly, helpful, efficient and multi-lingual. A gem.

We only stayed one night en route but wish we had had more time to linger. The location was quiet and central and easy to get to by tram from the train station. The rooms are unique and beautiful and staff super helpful. Reception provided a map and options for eating out - the one we went for was wonderful. Would definitely recommend and return.

Our stay was perfect from the check-in we were welcomed by Bilitis from the front desk. She was so nice and helped us book for our dinner . She also recommended our must see attractions and shopping areas in Lyon. She was so friendly and helpful. We want to thank all the hotel team and we would definitely come back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel De L’Abbaye. The room we booked was large and modern, and the service throughout our visit was excellent. The hotel is set in a quiet area, yet it’s only a short walk to the old town, shopping district and the metro.||

Very much enjoyed our stay for the week. The room was large and comfortable with wonderful views of the church and piazza. The breakfast buffet had everything in abundance, the only issue was the quirky coffee machine otherwise wonderful. We had dinner also one night and it was excellent. The location is quiet but easy walking to shops, restaurants and museums. The concierge was extremely helpful with recommendations to restaurants etc.
