I spent 4 nights in this hotel with my family, booking 2 rooms (Parisienne and Grand Parisienne) and we had a very good time there.|Location: close to Saint Sulpice church and Jardin du Luxembourg, close to Metro stops, multiple restaurants and a supermarket nearby.|Hotel: old renovated hotel which successfully straddles between traditional and efficient, but with some limits due to size of rooms and accessibility. Lobby: courteous, always helpful. Restaurant: we only tried the breakfast which was excellent, and very nice staff. Rooms: the larger room was on the ground floor and had a veranda, beautifully appointed, bed was medium comfortable. Bathroom: heated marble floors in both bathroom and shower, multi-head shower, good toiletries but toilet was separate in a small nook outside the main bathroom area, just in front of the entry door. Extras: we had daily turnover service with small chocolates and on Easter day a nice box of chocolates.|Overall a great options when travelling to Paris, probably better suited for mature couples looking for a classic/romantic environment rather than teenagers.

Really nice hotel. The bed was super comfy. The staff were very friendly. It looks very nice but a bit outdated in bathroom appliances. It’s situated on a quiet street with a charming garden inside. I had La chambre style room and it just felt a little small but okay for one person. Diptyque shower gel and shampoo smelled amazing as well. Overall, it’s a good choice in this area if Paris.

A nice hotel surrounded by a beautiful internal garden with a fountain where it is nice to have breakfast. The staff is very attentive and courteous. The Hotel inside is all covered in carpet. It's not ideal if it is not kept properly. Having recently returned from Japan, where everything is super clean, I was struck by the carpet in our room, it was full of stains. Rooms are not very big, I had a superior Double Room La Parisienne, I had only one suitcase, if I had another one, there would have been no space to move.|I would have paid what I paid for the amenities, but not for the room, too bad, such a nice place!

Highly recommend this secret gem hidden away in Saint Germain. Cozy lobby bar, larger than expected rooms, and the perfect location. Will absolutely stay here again!

Hospitable small hotel located a few blocks from both Les Deux Maggot and Bon Marche It is a perfectly run hotel with a nice breakfast and tea. Prices are moderate compared to not only the right bank but the newer hotels on the left bank. Recommended for a Paris home Must make reservations directly with hotel. Be sure you are clear on arrival and departure dates

An Absolute Gem in the Heart of Saint-Germain – A Perfect Anniversary Stay We had the pleasure of staying at Hotel de l’Abbaye Saint-Germain to celebrate our 30th anniversary, and I can’t imagine a more perfect Parisian experience. We booked the apartment-style room, which felt like a total unicorn in Paris—a two-level suite! The main floor had a cozy and elegant living room with a fireplace, a desk, a comfortable sofa, and a full bathroom. Then up a charming spiral staircase to the bedroom level, where we were greeted by a king-size bed (yes, a king bed in Paris!), another desk and sitting area, and a half bath. It felt more like a romantic Parisian pied-à-terre than a hotel room. The hotel itself oozes that 6th arrondissement charm—all the magic of Saint-Germain, but with refined touches of luxury and whimsy. You’re not in some sterile chain hotel—you’re in Paris, and you feel it in every detail: the garden courtyard, the classic yet cozy decor, and the warm, personalized hospitality. The front desk staff were delightful—kind, helpful, and genuinely invested in making our stay special. Housekeeping was delightful and impeccable including an Angelina's sweet on our pillow every.nIght. The breakfasts were divine: buttery croissants, perfect coffee, exquisite jams… and don’t even get me started on the butter—I’m still talking about it. Location? You can’t beat it. Just steps from Luxembourg Gardens, Saint-Sulpice, and Le Bon Marché (the best shopping in Paris, hands down). You’re within walking distance of all the top brasseries, boutiques, and Left Bank landmarks, and it’s an easy ride to the more tourist-heavy 1st arrondissement—but trust me, you’ll want to come “home” to the 6th every time. This hotel is romance, charm, and pure Parisian soul. We’ll be back, again and again. Merci, Hôtel de l’Abbaye, for an unforgettable anniversary. 💛

I came this morning for breakfast, which the hotel’s website clearly states is served until 12:00 PM. I arrived at 11:30, and there were still free tables. Yet a staff member told me flatly that breakfast was over — no apology, no explanation, just “it ends at 11:30.” Confused, I called the front desk. The person I spoke to confirmed at first that breakfast runs until 12:00. I was still on time. But when I mentioned what his colleague had told me, he shifted tone and added that maybe there was no more food left — a justification that felt improvised, and inconsistent with his initial answer. The whole situation left a very clear impression: this wasn’t about timing or availability. There’s a troubling ambiguity in how I was treated, and it’s hard not to suspect that other reasons — the kind no one will openly admit — might be at play

What a pity that after years of coming to this hotel for breakfast & tea, since I live in the neighborhood for the past decade, the hotel just decided that they NO LONGER ALLOW DOGS inside. My heart is broken for this treasured gem destroyed for me and my well-behaving dog who, only a couple of weeks ago, used to sleep at my feet while I meet friends here for breakfast. What a tragic decision on the part of the hotel!

Yelp
Charming hotel, Very nice staff. Great area! VERY small rooms, Very hot, very noisy,No drawers or storage, shower step was a big challenge. All lights on one switch. Bathroom switch in bedroom. Know what you're getting into before you book.

Yelp
Last month I stayed at the hotel for the 4th year in a row and was charmed by the atmosphere and the superb service. The personnel is very attentive and courteous (especially Frederic, the night Manager who is always extremely helpful and charming. Thank you for making my stay in your hotel memorable. Yelp
This was our home away from home--what a wonderful place to spend our honeymoon! Excellent service and great location; of course the room itself was perfect :)

Yelp
If you want a charming experience with an absolute perfect location stay here. It feels like you are staying at a French persons home. This place is both elegant and warm. It came recommended by my friend whom teaches at the Sorbonne and she was so right. It's honestly quieter than my own home. I will only stay here in the future and did I say I have been coming to Paris since 1995. I adore this place...

Yelp
Before I write a review, I'd like to say that I'm an American, might be an ugly American, that has had his fair share of hotel room stays. I'm a lifetime Diamond with the Hilton hotel group and a lifetime Platinum with the Marriott group. All that Means is that over the last 15 tears, ive stayed at a hotel over 200 days a year. Why did I not stay with my loyalty hotels that I could have booked for free? My daughter decided to stay here and I didn't want to be far from my grandson. Let's start with the great things about this place. The location is fantastic, centrally located and within walking distance of touristy areas but secluded enough that it's quiet and you can sleep with windows open without hearing loud music or people. The rooms are cool with the wallpaper matching the lamp shades, drapes, pillow covers, etc. I feel like the service, cleanliness, breakfast are about the same as any hotel. They're nice but I not next level. Now for the disappointing part. As a person accustomed to hotels, I was disappointed that we had no refrigerator in the room. This makes it tough for grandparents and parents of infants that need milk handy or people that need their meds like insulin, kept in cold storage. They didn't have a coffee/espresso maker or a microwave. Our rooms AC also wasn't working and since it was a small, "boutique" hotel, they didn't have full time maintenance people to fix it, nor did they offer to move us to another room so we just slept sweaty. The "Queen size" bed is actually 2 full size beds side by side. One last thing, they don't have parking, valet service or provide a perking pass at any parking garages so, if you brought a vehicle, good luck finding parking. This hotel is mainly for the young, healthy people with no kids or older than 3 year old kids that don't need the typical hotel amenities

Yelp
This is an absolutely beautiful little hotel right smack in the middle of Saint-Germain. The rooms were lovely and the service superb, but once I discovered Le Marais and found out what I was missing in terms of authenticity (sigh)...I knew that this was quite touristy by comparison. Don't get me wrong, this is a lovely place and the people that work here could not be more helpful to this non-French speaking American. The night clerk was especially sweet at my pathetic attempts to communicate with him, but because he was so nice I found he was one of the few people I did manage to communicate fairly effectively with (strange how that works, isn't it?). The guests here tend to be middle-aged and older Americans, and there can be quite a few for such a small place. If you are looking to avoid that, this is not the place for you. I picked it because it was so centrally located, and it is, which makes getting anywhere you might want to go pretty easy. Like most Paris hotels, the rooms are smallish, but some of them have lovely balconies that overlook the garden courtyard. The common rooms are lovely and there is a fireplace where they had a fire and wine and cheeses in the evening. The ambiance was quite nice. Also, I loved the bathtub and bathroom in my room, which is something I am quite picky about. After a long day of walking miles and miles all across Paris and back, there is nothing quite like the luxury of a bath. I am not sure I would stay in this area again, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

Yelp
I read about this on a map which I bought from the Bon Marche recommending all of Paris's best kept secrets. This hotel definitely makes it onto that list. You don't have to be a guest at the hotel to enjoy a cup of tea or a bite to eat from a very French menu at reasonable prices. Out the back there is a hidden garden which is so picturesque and romantic providing the perfect backdrop for a tea break. The steel iron tables and chairs are set among a beautiful courtyard with greenery and plants. This tiny little space is so cute I couldn't recommend it enough The service was super

Yelp
I stayed at the hotel due to the great reviews it had on Tripadvisor and the price was high but I wanted to be pampered. The hotel is great, it is very classic style though I heard from Reception that they have some rooms in modern design. The service was superb and the staff are just adorable. I had breakfast in the garden in the morning which was a bliss. The area is fantastic (St Germain) with all it's old streets and cosy cafes the nightlife is great. The only thing that really annoyed me is the tiny sidewalks around there, Me and my girlfriend had to walk in front of each other half the time. I am definitely coming back. It's luxury without the high high prices.

Yelp
we stayed there several years ago, I know, why did I wait so long to speak up, the room was alright, my only complaint was when breakfast was served I asked for a banana to put in my cereal, I was told they did not have a banana! A very exotic fruit, since we paid about 400.00 for the room I felt I was not being unreasonable

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here on our first trip to Paris and it was absolutely perfect. The location is excellent, the staff members were all very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is beautiful. Although we spent most of our time roaming the city, hotel abbaye certainly added to our amazing experience in Paris.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed at Hotel de l'Abbaye for 3 nights for our first trip to Paris together, and the hotel was an absolute treat. Located in the 6th arrondissemont, the hotel provides a location that is privately tucked away but very close to restaurants and nightlife. Start with the walk to Cafe Cassette right down the street, sit down and grab a nice glass of white wine or coffee and watch the world go by. Or, walk 10 minutes to the Odeon area with great restaurants, nightlife and gelato! And of course, for tourists, walk 30 minutes to see the Louvre and Notre Dame. For everything else, the Saint Sulpice metro station is steps away from the hotel and connects you with all of Paris. We stayed in a standard room on the 4th floor, with a nice view of the inner courtyard, terraces and the beautiful buildings in the area. The room was immaculate and was very intimate and cozy, which was perfect for a romantic trip to Paris. Even though it was on the small side, it was exactly what we needed - a bed, enough room for luggage, a desk and a bathroom w/ tub. Only complaint - a shower curtain would have been nice! if you're in Paris, you're hopefully not spending a long time in your room during the day. The front desk was wonderful. We could either speak our broken French or our English with the front desk - either will work just fine. One night, we needed help with a dinner reservation - they suggested an excellent place down the street and booked our reservation for us. In the morning, definitely take the breakfast at the hotel which they serve from around 7-11. It has a bed and breakfast feeling to it, with warm service an assortment of croissants and pastries, or omelets and hot breakfast if you wish. I even had to..ugh...take a work call on our last day there. I connected to the free wi-fi through Skype with no issues. Very easy to connect, which kept our mobile bills down during our travels. Hotel de'l Abbaye provided us with a memorable, romantic first trip to Paris that we will never forget.

Yelp
This hotel is exactly what we were looking for. Charming, clean, quiet, and romantic. The front desk was very helpful and we were grateful for the city map they provided with the hotel clearly marked on it. We walked everywhere and this hotel is located in a great central location. We will definitely stay here when we return to Paris!

Yelp
Love this little gem of a hotel and have spent many happy moments there. The location is perfect--in the heart of the 6th. It's cozy and very French without feeling austere or pretentious. It's also a great value, especially for an amazing city like Paris.

This hotel is wonderfully located. It's quaint and authentic. I stay here whenever I am visiting Paris.

Yelp
The front-of-house staff is what's really holding Hotel de l'Abbaye back from being a real contender. The location is great, the rooms are fantastic, and the bar/restaurant staff are superb, but the front desk / porters seem to constantly have better things to do. Cases in point: we'd ordered a cab through the front desk the third or fourth time, and magically this time there's a cab fee associated with it. The front desk then took the cab driver's side and said if we didn't pay it the fee would be stuck on the bill. Other instances of FoH staff not giving a shit include taking 30 minutes to come up for baggage assistance, forgetting to bring up breakfast twice, and charging for not bringing back an umbrella that I never left with to begin with. While it's lovely to sit in front of the real fire place and sip on a whisky and pick at a meats plate, I'll be looking for an alternative hotel next trip.

Yelp
After spending long days exploring the wonderful city of Paris it was always comforting to arrive back at hotel de l'Abbaye where we were greeted by a professional, friendly and helpful staff. Whether it was champagne by the fire or enjoying a breakfast of expresso and croissants in the sunroom, we always felt well taken care of.

Yelp
Amazing hotel. This is probably the best hotel I have stayed in in Paris. Unfortunately I could only spend a single night as it was slightly over my budget. But if you can afford it you will love every little bit of it. It's a four star that deserves 5. And it's all about service.

Cal L.

Yelp
I stayed here for three nights in March 2010 on my way to visit my son in Newcastle, UK. The hotel is in one of my favorite districts, and it certainly is set away from the street giving it a peaceful atmosphere. My room was standard size due to cost and also I was alone and it was a good enough size. I fully appreciated the nice marble bathroom with a standup shower that is adjustable (some rooms only have a hand held shower as what I understood), the lovely fig scented soaps and shampoos, and the hard to find normal hair dryer. I ordered in room service my arrival night; it consisted of soup and quiche which were excellent. My room faced the entryway which becomes a bit noisy if guests roll their luggage over the stone pathway as one could hear it in the room. Also there's a quirk in the key lock, that there is a certain way to turn one's key. Of course, I didn't get it so I had to get assistance the first couple of times. Service was generally good, but I was put off by the seemingly very friendly desk clerk who checked me in. He was really smiley and friendly until I made a grievous error in not realizing I was printing off my boarding pass on the hotel's printer same time he was printing a guest invoice. However, it would have been good if he had alerted me that there was only one printer and that guests needed to coordinate with staff if printing. Otherwise, I loved my stay there. However, I will try other hotels. I find it's too overpriced though it's listed as a 4* hotel. Things like a tea/coffeemaker and a minibar are not included.
