Hôtel de l'Ecluse

The photo was taken at the end of the night. On arrival everything was in order and clean! Hotel in a great location. Close to the center and parking lots. Rooms are well furnished but small, the bathroom in particular. Too bad for the very minimal breakfast.

The location is just above the old town of Neuchatêl, so it's perfect for shopping or dining. If you'd rather go to the lake, the hotel may not be as convenient, but you'll be on the lakefront after a 10-minute walk. The rooms are between 4 and 5 stars. Our room was small, very clean and had a kitchen (fridge, sink and stove top) which I liked (although I didn't use it). Had we stayed longer, this would have been of great use. The bed was soft and of good quality. The width of the bed could have been a bit wider for my taste, but it was fine (160-180cm I guess based on the room size). The shower was fine, only the faucet of the sink sprayed water as if it was heavily clogged with lime (maybe it's a weird water saving faucet?). But as I said, everything was very clean.

My husband and I arrived with our two young children and received a warm welcome from the hotel proprietor. His personal touch made our stay just lovely. He even recommended restaurants close by where we could have a nice dinner out and enjoy the town. Staff was friendly and the room was very clean and modern. To top it all off, the proprietor send a terrific wine to our room after learning we were celebrating a birthday. Thanks for a wonderful stay in Neuchatel that we will remember for a lifetime!

Yes, we were disappointed. Got for a discounted price their suite in the 3rd floor in the new building. Room ok, but not more. Looked more like an apartment than a Hotel room called their suite. Very noisy from busy street all night long despite closed windows. Breakfast was the negative experience. No style, no fresh or local cheese and other products. Despite you get served what Lidl sells in their shop incl their Joghurt and BabyBel cheese. Sorry guys, this is not good enough. Won’t get back to this Hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. They have friendly staff. Check in was great. Hotel is very clean. There is a little kitchenette with refrigerator, but you have to get equipment from the desk. They are getting accommodating and have all that you need. Very quiet neighborhood and is close to lake and train station.

We spent a very comfortable three night stay in the more recent rooms. During the day a fair amount of traffic noise, however nights were quieter. The room was clean, spacious and well appointed. Staff friendly and helpful. Venue ideally situated close to the old city. A bit of an uphill slog to the station, so we arranged with reception for a taxi.

Stayed here two nights. We had a great room in the modern block. It was large and bright with good facilities. This hotel is located not far from the centre of Neuchatel and its shops, restaurants and historical sites. Also the lake is within a 15 minute walk. The breakfast was good but was extra however you get free travel passes and tickets for entry to attractions. ||The only downside was the car parking. You have to park in a public car park that is expensive.||Overall it is a good place to stay if you want to enjoy all that Neuchatel and area have to offer.

A small and peaceful hotel near the city center, although there's some climbing uphill and even stairs to reach the ground floor. Everything is clean and most parts are freshly renovated. The kitchenette is a nice addition in the rooms. Surprisingly, there's not enough electric outlets and they are badly located. Otherwise would recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Staff is very friendly. Hotel is very clean and quiet. There is a kitchenette, but you have to ask reception for equipment. They have all that you need and will provide it gladly. Hotel is close to the lake and the train station.
