A great value and location. this hotel is in a prime location and close to the plaza, the Palais Des Papes, the Hertigage Plaza and the famous bridge. We had access to wonderful shops, cafes and restaurants without having to drive. While there is not parking at the hotel, there is a lot close by. You may pull up to the hotel and unload or load your luggage which make it quite easy. The room was clean, the bed comfortable. However the room was not 4 - star as advertised. Old brown carpet, furniture that really needs to be replaced, and no mini fridge— drab. The staff was helpful when asked. |The breakfast had nice options, fresh fruits, yogurts, meats, cheeses, breads, croissants and very excellent coffee.

The hotel is lovely! Located on a main square with out door restaurants and close to everything! Shopping, restaurants, Popes Palace, Bridge over Avignon etc. the rooms are all different shapes and sizes as the building was converted into a hotel. We had a large corner room with a sitting area. The breakfast buffet is in a charming French bistro and the chocolate croissants and bread was just baked! I would highly recommend a stay here.

Right on the main square. Beautiful old building with unique room configurations. Modern amenities and a cute breakfast area off the main lobby that looks like an arboretum. Walking distance to attractions. I would stay there again and recommend it for short stays while traveling. Only downside is no car parking at the hotel although you can drive up, drop your bags and parking is just a 5 minute walk away.

I loved Hotel de l’Horloge, so central, friendly and good value. The breakfast was exceptional with the lovely Nadia catering to your every need! I even had the most tasty gluten-free bread to enjoy. Hope to return there soon as it is a great base to visit so many interesting places in beautiful Provence!

It's perfectly at heart of the inner town. We enjoyed start our morning at the terrace which is directly above the historic street. The room is cozy and the crews are nice and helpful. The only drawback is, there's one night being a bit noisy (we are at French 1st Floor). Probably because of the Avignon festival;)

Hotel de L'Horloge - Located right in the heart of Avignon, the hotel offers a combination of old world charm and modern décor and services. Pope’s Palace is just a stone’s throw away. Breakfast is fresh and good. Staff is very professional and helpful. Recommend staying here for a trip to Avignon.

Perfect location in the heart of Avignon right by the Palais des Popes. |This is the best place to stay in Avignon. Walk out the door and you are in the center square with all of the shops and restaurants. |Room was comfortable and we were super happy! |Great price for what you get.

This hotel has a lot of flaws, but I came to enjoy the nostalgia of it. I came to consider it shady chic. |It is very well located being a few blocks from the train station (not the TGV), the Papal Palace, restaurants, and museums. The wi-fi is surprisingly good. I had a private terrace (with no view) that had an outdoor shower. If it had been warmer, I would have tried it out.|But the hotel did have flaws. The room was very small for a double. It was dark and needed a refresh. It has one of the treacherous old-fashioned European bath tubs complete with a working clothes line over it.

Yelp
Very nice hotel, quiet, great breakfast, lovely staff, and walkable. It's worth every euro!

Yelp
Poor front desk service, difficult to get to room with luggage, stairs to climb after getting off the elevator. Additional stairs on each floor, they are NOT senior friendly!!! Have not tried the food, but probably won't spend another dime/Euro here anyway ,

Yelp
Charming, super clean, great location in Avignon where there is a theater festival every July.

Yelp
Location, Location, Location. Hotel de l'Horloge has location in spades. It's in the heart of all of the sites and eating places in Avignon. It's steps away from the Pope's Palace and it's right smack by the square. It can be noisy at times but it's where the action seems to be. Our room by European standards was alright but to someone who is used to American hotels, I felt a bit cramped. It seems like the king size bed took up the whole space. The floors are also a bit funky. There are steps within steps in any given floor to get to any of the rooms. The bed comfort was adequate. As someone said before it can use some upgrading. The staff here are also very very helpful. There was a railway strike when we were in France and Michael at the front desk went out of his way to find us alternative transportation since our original train booking was canceled and it seems every other scheduled trains to Marseille (our next destination) was canceled. As to the the breakfast, it was pretty good. We had the usual European cold cuts, fruits and croissants and whole slew of other bread choices. Coffee on the other hand was just bleh. I could never figure out how to use their espresso and cappuccino maker so I made do without. If we are ever in Avignon again, I would come back and stay here again despite the cramp space.

Yelp
Pros: Ideal location in the center of Avignon. In a very old, historic charming building. Air conditioner worked well during the heat wave in June. The staff were friendly. Cons: We paid for a mid range room, not the cheapest and not the most expensive- but the room was very tight and claustrophobic. Outdated rooms, little dusty. We felt as though there may be a mold issue. Breakfast was expensive. We elected to go to a nice pastry shop next door instead. Next time we may try Mercure hotel.

Yelp
This hotel is in a great location, just off the main square in the heart of town. We walked from the train station, which was around 10 minutes. Our room was very small but room sizes do vary. The staff was very welcoming at check-in, and friendly throughout our visit. The hotel looked a little tired, but was generally in good condition. There are many twists and turns, stairs up and down, as this is an old building. The Hôtel de l'Horloge was full, likely because it is a good value for the area.

Yelp
This was a very pleasant hotel. We booked 3 nights then had to add a 4th night with a separate reservation and they were able to work with us so we didn't have to change rooms. The room was nice but just a little small. I thought the bed was too soft but my wife liked it. Location is awesome. Tons of stuff within a block. A little loud at night with the window open because it was warm in the room. The front desk was extremely helpful. We had to park in the underground garage at about 8€ a day. Breakfast was slightly above average (croissants were awesome).

Yelp
We enjoyed a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is very close to the Pope's Palace & other amazing historic locations. You are steps away from great shopping, plenty of restaurants, museums & the opera. There is an area across from the side of the hotel with a number of restaurants all providing outside seating. It was our first stop after arriving and we enjoyed cool drinks while watching the locals & tourists stroll by. The room was spacious by European standards. We had two twin beds. There was also a small sleeper sofa, a lounge chair & a small desk with a flat panel TV we never turned on. The bathroom was also large with plenty of room to lay out your toiletries. The provided soaps & lotions were a high quality. The staff is helpful and eager to assist with calling a taxi, helping with tours, etc. Breakfast is served in the morning and it was wonderful! Creamy scrambled eggs, pancakes, yogurt, pastries & brioche bread, fresh fruits, a selection of cheeses & charcuterie, along with steaming pots of coffee & milk. It is a perfect way to start the day. The only downside is the noise. It made it very difficult to get to sleep. We had the windows open because the room was warm & in April their air conditioning is not on. With the windows open the temperature was just fine + we liked the fresh air. However, those same restaurants nearby providing outside seating, means there are people out partying until 1 or 2 in the morning. Lots of yelling, screaming, loud motorcycles & car doors slamming means you should invest in some good ear plugs if you plan to stay here.

Yelp
Hotel de l'Horlage was great as it was right in the heart of the l'Horlage center near the Pope's Palace. We could literally walk out of our hotel and within a few feet be at the Pope's Palace OR be in the heart of the shopping district which for me, sounds just about perfect. The staff was fantastic! The concierge was extremely helpful in giving us recommendations on places to see and eat. He even provided recommendations on places he himself goes to which I always appreciate that kind of recommendation vs. a touristy recommendation. The rooms are so-so and a little bit outdated but again, it's a trade off with the location you are getting.

Yelp
Absolutely a great hotel! The rooms were spacious, the pillows were comfy, they provided all sorts of great soap and even bath salts! The continental breakfast is huge and to die for with fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, a large selection of coffee flavors, etc. It had a good central location with many nearby restaurants and cafes, and of course the Pope's palace! Would definitely recommend and return!

Yelp
This hotel was awesome! Our room was very spacious with a large terrace and great view of the Palace. The staff was very friendly -- one staff member went out of his way to help us book a reservation at a restaurant down the street that would accommodate our plant-based diet. :)

Yelp
Room was small but cozy. Great balcony and view on the 5th floor. Friendly staff and centrally located.
