Hôtel de Nell (Paris, Île-de-France) 42 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"This is how hotel minimalism is supposed to be done — instead of feeling stripped to the studs, Hôtel de Nell is imbued with a tranquil, understated warmth, and a depth of texture that's so often lost at other pared-down hotels. As ever, it's all in the details: the heated parquet floors topped with easy-on-the-toes organic wool carpets, black stone-walled showers you'll never want to get out of, and, in the better rooms, massive Japanese bathtubs carved from single blocks of raw marble and fitted with Oregon myrtlewood accessories." - Tablet Hotels

5 stars - An unforgettable stay for our wedding anniversary! We had the most incredible experience staying here for our wedding anniversary. We came here with our 2 month old baby. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel special. The room was beautifully decorated with romantic touches it was clear a lot of care had gone into making our stay memorable. The hotel is located very well, it was super quiet so great for relaxing. The bathroom was amazing. The breakfast was great too! The team were exceptional, especially Melisa who was warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Thank you for making our anniversary so magical we’ll never forget it and can’t wait to return.

Lovely boutique hotel at the crossroad of Paris’ liveliest neighborhoods. The abundance of cafes and bakeries nearby makes it difficult to have breakfast at the hotel, so you might as well skip that expenses when booking. The service for the most part was courteous with the exception of the occasional cold employee who would rather bury her head in the screen than say good morning to you. The rooms are adequately sized for Paris standards and I would definitely recommend the ones with the street view. The rooms are well appointed and the bedding is comfortable. Keep in mind that you may hear the occasional church carillon, I found it lovely. I was not able to find a luggage rack so I used the sofa instead. I note two minor issues during my stay: 1) there seems to have been a major sewage incident which resulted in a seriously foul odor in the lobby and common area; and 2) the elevator is tiny and slow. Factor in that employees also use it, this adds up to a very frustrating long wait. Luckily I was on the first floor so I took the rather spacious stairs.

I wanted to like Hôtel de Nell, but it fell short in too many ways. My first room faced a noisy construction site. After requesting a move, I was given a room facing a church—nice view, but the bells rang every 30 minutes from 7am to 8pm.||There was no in-room guide for how to operate anything, and worst of all, there was no hot water. I took two cold showers and couldn’t get a clear explanation from staff. I couldn’t even use the Japanese-style bath—one of the reasons I booked the room—because of the lack of hot water and the cracked, rotting wood around it.||The towels looked old and dingy. The bed was fine, but not worth the $600 I paid for one night. The staff were young and well-meaning, but inexperienced. I didn’t even find the restaurant until the next morning. Breakfast was great, but that was the only highlight.||The hotel tries for a sleek, upscale vibe with a Japanese touch but misses the mark on the basics. I feel it was more like a 3 star class hotel. I unfortunately checked out after one night and moved to another hotel that was exactly what I was looking for. So glad I did.

Stayed at Hotel de NELL for two nights at their Suite. Exceptional front desk service (shout out to Denis!), beautiful and savory breakfast and absolutely amazing suite room. Their bathroom featuring the Japanese style tub and small details such as towel warmers were incredible addition to the stay. We will absolutely visit again! Highly recommend 👌

The staff were amazing and helped with everything we needed. We weren't sure which places were best for currency exchange, and they gave us a list. We wanted to make ramen in our room, and they provided bowls and utensils. We asked for coffee recommendations, and they gave us a list of personal favorites. The soundproofing of the rooms is great! The location is really good. You can get food, coffee, and pastries within 5mins in all directions. Very close to metro stations. It's in a quiet area too so you don't have traffic or loud people at night. The best part was definitely the staff and the service the provided. The only downside was that the view from our specific room wasn't good. But it's not like we spent a lot of time in our room.

Google
I was debating giving this 3 stars, but I think 4 is more appropriate because the rooms were quite comfortable and the location is tough to beat. We were greatly surprised that this is considered a 5 star hotel, I’d consider it a very light 4 star accommodation, at best. There were none of the little touches you’d expect in a 5 star and we didn’t find the staff to be particularly welcoming. The location’s great and the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, however. We’ll likely try a different spot our next time in Paris.

We went with 2 couples in April 2025 and stayed 5 nights. Every single thing in the hotel was amazing - rooms, comfort, breakfast but the best part about the hotel is the employees representing it - especially in the reception area. Every person was absolutely perfect in everything they did. will definitely stay there again on our next trip.

Google
Great hotel, quality rooms, very attentive staff. Excellent location with a number of quality local bars and restaurants close by, very quiet street and across the road from a beautiful church. Thank you for making our stay an enjoyable one!

Yelp
Perfect place in Paris, very central in the 10th arrondisment. While there is obviously a well functioning metro system, we chose to use our feet and walk 17 miles through the entire city center. Paris remains a world capital and has lots of obvious and less obvious things to see and visit. In some areas, it was excessively packed with tourists, but after all, we were tourists too. The hotel was everything we needed and offered a chic, modern, and very comfortable interior. Everyone was charming. While for most days we chose to go to a nearby bakery and grab some croissants etc on the run, there was also a wonderful breakfast buffet in the hotel with multiple selections - for us perfect prior to going to gare de Lyon to catch our TGV.

Yelp
This is a beautiful, more modern hotel in Paris. The room was huge (for European standards) and is modern in design and functionality. The neighborhood is mostly quiet for being in the city. It's in walking distance to a lot of restaurants and shops as well. Service was good and the staff were friendly! I will definitely stay here again!

Yelp
We really enjoyed this hotel. We were looking for a true French boutique hotel- this fit the bill! It was quiet, had great front desk service, its in a cute area. There is a church right next door that has daytime chimes every 15 minutes. Room service 24/7. Price point was reasonable and comparable to other hotels. Paris is cleaning everything these days, maybe for olympics, 2024.... The whole city is walkable, this hotel is close to metro. We would stay here again.

Yelp
Disgusting experience in bath - I found man's genitalia hair and dirt all over bath. So gross!Totally mismanagement and they did nothing to fix it. Management is rude and unprofessional. Overpriced.

Yelp
One of nicest boutique hotels that I've been lucky enough to stay at. We spent 5 wonderful nights and the staff could not have been more friendly, the room was superb, and the location was perfect for walking, eating, and shopping at the Opera. It's a smaller hotel. The rooms are also euro sized but you will have all the elegant amenities needed. Even better is the location. There are tons of Asian restaurants, bars, and brasseries located within a couple blocks in every direction. I would love to return back here without any hesitation. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Loved this hotel. Customer service was excellent (which says a lot because customer service in France doesn't really exist for those who have never traveled to this country before). My husband and I traveled from US and it was a surprise for my birthday..so I did not know one lick of French but everyone here spoke English and was so very accommodating. This is a PERFECT location, everything within walking distance. The restaurant was amazing for all meals of the day, but especially dinner. I am a vegetarian which is extremely difficult in Paris because everything is ham and cheese and meat meat meat. ( even for breakfast people were eating plates of deli meat!) however the restaurant was very accommodating and I had a great dinner there the last night with my husband. We found the restaurant to be a bit pricey for breakfast but not bad at all for dinner. So many restaurants for breakfast/ lunch close by. Guests and staff are dressed very nicely, definitely more upscale than most hotels in the area. Pros: travel wifi so we could have wifi when walking around the city, pillow menu, customer service, food, location, Alex Con: no pool/spa ( but from what we could tell most hotels in Paris don't have pools or spas) no patio or outdoor lounge area. Our fridge didn't work and when asked about it they said they would fix it but never did...not a huge deal but would have been nice to keep some drinks and leftovers in our room as we stayed there one week. Alex at the front desk was so helpful and such a sweetheart he really made our stay special.

Yelp
Excellent place to stay and so is the service. The rooms are quite big and modern, especially for Paris. I especially like the quiet neighborhood in the city. Great restaurants nearby and the metro isn't too far away. Would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Good location, surprisingly large and well-designed rooms, and a completely outstanding staff made our stay awesome. They checked us in right away even though we arrived early, managed to get us a reservation for 5 at a popular restaurant hours before dinner, provided all the details on an event we wanted to see, and had a car waiting to get us to the airport in plenty of time the next morning. Top notch.

Yelp
We loved this gorgeous, boutique hotel in 9h Arondissment . Close to everything, yet doesn't fee like a touristy area. We had our two children with us and the room was perfect with separate bedroom for us, high quality sofa bf for them. Kitchenette, quaint balcony, gorgeous parquet floors and huge space for Paris standards. The staff couldn't have been nice or more attentive. Room was chic with simple decor and Linens were lovely, nice bathroom. Overall, a great find in Paris that I'd recommend to anyone, especially for a longer stay !
