This hotel was pre-selected for us as part of our Intrepid / Peregrine Morocco Explorer tour, so we cannot speak to the value for price. The properties were supposed to be comfort / upgraded quality (relative to the area). I think there are 3 critical basic elements to evaluate all overnight properties – location, sleep, and a good shower.||||LOCATION: 5/5 This hotel is in downtown within walking distance of many restaurants and attractions. Window opens over some roof tops. ||||GOOD SLEEP: 3.5/5 Comfortable double bed (a little hard, but this was the norm in Morocco) with average blankets and pillows. Not much noise.||||SHOWER: 4/5 Stand in shower with screen to keep the water out (rare in Morocco). Hot water. Push dispenser on wall with soap (no shampoo or other toiletries). Average towels. No hairdryer.||||Everything else just adds or subtracts from a stay so follows are some other comments:||||GOOD||- Flat screen TV, functioning air conditioner, phone, desk, and Regular 2-prong European outlets.||- Room generally clean. I guess because you aren't allowed to eat in your room :) See picture.||- Nice breakfast served to you at your table and included a large assorted bread basket, OJ, Coffee, and yogurt.||||IMPROVEMENTS or FYI||- Free WIFI is good but only works in lobby.||- No in-room kettle or complimentary bottled water (can be bought nearby in town at about 6-8dh for 1.5L).||- No bar or alcohol available in the hotel (but can be obtained at other locations nearby).||- Staff were not particular friendly (but no problems either).||||Overall we had a fine stay here - no frills but no problems. Of the properties we stayed at during this tour, we would have ranked this #5 out of 7.

Reception guy is super rude. I asked for a room, he gave me stares like I have insulted his entire familly before answering me in low and bored voice, after I asked to see the room, when I saw it it has strong mold smell, I asked if there is a more open room, he instantly turned the light off and said "No, I don't want to rent you anything anyway" and kicked me downstairs while turning the stairs light off when I'm still going down and its super dark. Worst experience I had with any service by far, never going back there ever again

This is not a great hotel. We were on a Peregrine tour so staying here was not our choice. Although they were expecting a tour group the management had not found a substitute porter for the one on his day off so we had to carry our bags up a flight of stairs to reach a tiny two person lift. Our room was small, the lighting was very dim and the tiny ancient TV struggled to show a colour picture and should have been retired years ago. The bathroom contained the smallest shower we have ever seen, the wall fitting for the shower handset was broken and the ceiling light didn't work. On the plus side the water pressure was good, the bed was comfortable, there is a safe in the wardrobe, free wi fi, and the breakfast was very good. If you have a choice I recommend finding somewhere else to stay.

My husband and I stayed here for one night while on a tour.||||The hotel is located in a busy area, within walking distance of restaurants and shops. ||||Our room was quite outdated. There was a dead cockroach in the bathroom, the safe was broken, the TV was a tiny old CRT, the Wi-Fi didn’t work and there were no power outlets to charge our devices. ||||On the plus side, the room had a balcony which was good for getting some fresh air. ||||The breakfast service was a bit sloppy, with some people receiving omelettes and others missing out.

We had a 1 night stay at this hotel as part of a Peregrine tour. From the minute we walked into the front lobby we were unimpressed.||||The reception area stunk of cigarette smoke. Our shower was overrun with ants and when I went down to reception to complain the person on the front desk said to just hose the ants away. I asked for the shower to be sprayed with something to kill the ants and for the shower to be thoroughly cleaned (the drain was disgustingly dirty). ||||As we were going out with the tour group immediately after checking in I thought the ant problem would be sorted by the time we got back. All that had been done was the shower sprayed with water and the bathroom floor flooded! The drain was still filthy. When I went back down to reception to complain about the bathroom floor being flooded and to ask for ant spray I was looked at as though I was from outer space. The ants were back with a vengeance in the morning, thankfully we hadn’t left any of our belongings in there.||||The room was very basic and the towels in the bathroom were almost black. ||||Breakfast was very poor - just baguettes and croissants.||||We would not recommend this hotel and we would never ever stay there again. ||||We don't know how Lonely Planet can say in it's latest book that 'this hotel continues to fly the flag for quality and service....'

This hotel is well located in Meknes, near a bank and the central market. However do not expect help with your luggage including up the stairs to the lift or a spare power point in your room to charge any phone or iPad. Breakfast is basic continental. The wifi is hit and miss but generally is ok. There must be a better hotel in Meknes at the same cost.

Nice location but a bit noisy. Room was average. Breakfast was great and never ended. Pretty good for a 3.5 star. Close to many restaurants and the centre of town for an easy walk in the evening to see the sights.

This was part of the Peregrine tour so we had no choice. ||||The bed was hard. The view was of the back alleyways of Meknes. The bathroom was probably the saddest in the world, with it's only saving grace was a wall hair-dryer. Tiny, tiny shower. Others in the group said theirs was recently refurbished. Sadly ours wasn't. ||||If you want to watch TV it is an old CRT, it may have been in colour but hard to tell.||||Nothing of great note with this hotel unless you want to be in the centre of town.
