One of the most appalling hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The 4.6 rating is either fabricated, outdated, or completely undeserved. If relying on location is their only asset, it won’t last long.
In our suite, we found dirty underwear under the bathroom sink and a used shoe bag hidden under the couch. This goes far beyond a housekeeping oversight — it’s a serious hygiene failure and raises real doubts about whether the room was cleaned at all.
When we reported this, the response from staff and management was defensive, dismissive, and unprofessional. There were no sincere apologies, no accountability, and no urgency — only endless, pointless arguments that wasted our time during a short vacation.
I wanted to leave immediately, but management hid behind the excuse of a third-party booking and claimed refunds were impossible. After a hellish dispute, the only concession was refunding the extra amount we paid to be in a suite for the first two nights — and even that felt extracted, not offered.
As a so-called gesture, we were promised a suite. What was actually prepared was a tiny twin room, the complete opposite of what was communicated. At that point, it became clear that continuing to complain was useless.
The minibar was not even functioning — everything inside was warm. I didn’t bother complaining about it. At this stage, it was a moot point. If finding dirty underwear didn’t move them, a broken minibar would probably be considered an asset, not a failure.
I added an extra night at Le Dokhan’s, where the difference was immediate: genuine hospitality, flexibility, professionalism, and thoughtful gestures like complimentary dessert and champagne, offered without being asked.
By comparison, Hôtel de Sers reflects everything wrong with poorly run “luxury” hotels: policies over people, arrogance over service, and management that simply cannot handle problems.
I stay 50+ nights a year in hotels. This experience stands out as exceptionally bad.
Avoid if you value cleanliness, professionalism, or your time.
