"For the daily contrast of modern urban living and millennia-old historical sites, not many places can compete with Rome. Hotel dei Barbieri, though tucked away down a quiet side street, is among the best-located Roman boutique hotels — not only is it close to the Pantheon and the Campo de’ Fiori, but it’s mere yards from the Largo di Torre Argentina, the site of some recently unearthed ruins, including the spot where Caesar is believed to have met his end." - Tablet Hotels

While this hotel has a lovely aesthetic and in a great location, the basic facilities are unfortunately below what you’d expect for the price. In reality, this is more of a 3-star experience at best. The Wi-Fi is almost unusable, constantly dropping out to the point where even using Google Maps was difficult. Because many of the rooms are located in the basement, mobile data (5G) didn’t work properly there either. The rooms themselves are very dark, with little natural light. There are also some surprising omissions for a hotel in this price range — no coffee machine anywhere on the property, no power socket near a mirror to style your hair, and a very weak hairdryer (I’ve had better in a budget chain). We also had a frustrating experience with the laundry service: after being assured it could be done, our clothes were returned to our room 24 hours later unwashed, and only when we went back to the desk were we told it wasn’t possible after all. The man at the desk seemed confused and didn’t offer an apology or solution, though I will say the female attendant who checked us in was lovely and helpful. After housekeeping, no new bottled waters were provided, so we ended up buying our own. For the price point, I expected much better service and amenities. It’s a stylish hotel, but ultimately not worth the money — there’s definitely better value to be found elsewhere.

I stayed at Hotel dei Barbieri for a weekend and everything was really great. Rooms are really nice and their breakfast offers a lot of choices. Our stay wouldn't be the same without Chiara, she took really good care of us, always ready to help. We will surely come back!

Our stay at this hotel was truly exceptional. The location is unbeatable; perfectly situated near some of the city’s most iconic tourist attractions. A special mention goes to Chiara, the warm and incredibly helpful receptionist, who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout the stay. She even recommended outstanding local restaurants where my family had the pleasure of experiencing authentic Italian cuisine. We’re already looking forward to returning in the near future.

|Coming to Hotel dei Barbieri is coming home to Rome. It is our third time staying here. In a bustling city like Rome it is nice to go back to a small hotel with a personal service and people at the front desk you know from before. A very complete, and healthy breakfast for those of us who prefer it across the way, has become a place to meet other guests. We have been away from home for over two weeks and have been sleeping in some ok and some not so comfortable beds; the last two nights we have slept like babies. The bed and room temperature are PERFECT and the water pressure makes for a great way to get going. We have been coming back to the hotel for a second shower, Rome’s temperature has been HOT, it is nice to have extra towels. |

A perfect hotel for a city break in Rome! The location is amazing, the rooms big and spacious, the staff friendly and attentive. Everything was near perfect with the only slight area for improvement being the wifi which dropped in and out a lot during our stay. Definitely worth a stay the next time you’re in Rome!

My family and I had a truly memorable stay at this hotel. The prime location was perfect for our trip, as we could walk to all the key tourist attractions. We were especially impressed by the wonderful service from Chiara Adoptante, one of the receptionists. She was not only welcoming and attentive to our needs but also shared some fantastic dining suggestions that led us to some of the best Italian food we've ever tasted. Our sincere thanks to her, and we hope to visit again soon.

Our Hotel Breakfast was served over there, so we had a couple of days in a row our Breakfast there, not to big buffet, so could be a little more, but for a quick breakfast before exploring the city its perfect! Really nice waiter around there, really good service as well! We enjoyed every breakfast we had there!
