"For the daily contrast of modern urban living and millennia-old historical sites, not many places can compete with Rome. Hotel dei Barbieri, though tucked away down a quiet side street, is among the best-located Roman boutique hotels — not only is it close to the Pantheon and the Campo de’ Fiori, but it’s mere yards from the Largo di Torre Argentina, the site of some recently unearthed ruins, including the spot where Caesar is believed to have met his end." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel I booked as it looked modern and clean and large for a family of 4. The suite was much smaller than expected unfortunately and quite a squeeze for 4 people it was also very dark with only a few small windows. The rooms are quite tired and could do with refurbishing but are clean. The location was great and walking distance to everything we wanted to see. The breakfast over the road was fine although small it was fresh and satisfactory for what we needed before exploring. Although one day it got incredibly busy so we had to stand and wait for 20 mins. (Better to eat earlier) The big issue we had was noise, we worked out the hotel doesn’t own the whole building and the floors above were occupied (air bnb) apartments, unfortunately every day and night there was either loud banging, children running around, shouting etc. I think the hotel should have confirmed this on their website as it’s hard to have control on that for guests if you don’t own those floors. When paying huge amount (850£per night) you don’t want to be woken ip by loud noises through the night or during the day. The staff were fantastic otherwise, very cheerful and happy. But would I stay again? No, for that type of money I would choose elsewhere or stay in the air b n b above for a lot less!

While this hotel has a lovely aesthetic and in a great location, the basic facilities are unfortunately below what you’d expect for the price. In reality, this is more of a 3-star experience at best. The Wi-Fi is almost unusable, constantly dropping out to the point where even using Google Maps was difficult. Because many of the rooms are located in the basement, mobile data (5G) didn’t work properly there either. The rooms themselves are very dark, with little natural light. There are also some surprising omissions for a hotel in this price range — no coffee machine anywhere on the property, no power socket near a mirror to style your hair, and a very weak hairdryer (I’ve had better in a budget chain). We also had a frustrating experience with the laundry service: after being assured it could be done, our clothes were returned to our room 24 hours later unwashed, and only when we went back to the desk were we told it wasn’t possible after all. The man at the desk seemed confused and didn’t offer an apology or solution, though I will say the female attendant who checked us in was lovely and helpful. After housekeeping, no new bottled waters were provided, so we ended up buying our own. For the price point, I expected much better service and amenities. It’s a stylish hotel, but ultimately not worth the money — there’s definitely better value to be found elsewhere.

We were really happy with our stay at the hotel. Our room (Standard) could have been a bit bigger, but besides that everything was perfect. The staff was so friendly and helpful, the hotel is beautiful and the location is unmatched. We could walk to all tourist spots and didn't need to take public transport. We would definately book this hotel again.

We've booked Hotel dei Barbieri and had a great stay. Due to the cancellation of our flight we had to stay an extra night but Barbieri was full and so they arrange a booking into the sister property, Hotel Trame. Both hotels were amazing. Thanks to Giacomo who reserved for us a luxurious suite

Marvellous hotel in a historical building. Our room had a magical atmosphere with a fresco overlooking the bedroom. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. Thanks to the staff on site and to Giacomo Who helped us to secure the riservation.

Our stay at this hotel was truly exceptional. The location is unbeatable; perfectly situated near some of the city’s most iconic tourist attractions. A special mention goes to Chiara, the warm and incredibly helpful receptionist, who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout the stay. She even recommended outstanding local restaurants where my family had the pleasure of experiencing authentic Italian cuisine. We’re already looking forward to returning in the near future.

I stayed at Hotel dei Barbieri for a weekend and everything was really great. Rooms are really nice and their breakfast offers a lot of choices. Our stay wouldn't be the same without Chiara, she took really good care of us, always ready to help. We will surely come back!

A perfect hotel for a city break in Rome! The location is amazing, the rooms big and spacious, the staff friendly and attentive. Everything was near perfect with the only slight area for improvement being the wifi which dropped in and out a lot during our stay. Definitely worth a stay the next time you’re in Rome!
