We stayed two nights as a family (kids aged 7 and 9). The location for the Christmas market was amazing and the rooms were very nice. However, I do feel we were treated differently as they clearly do not welcome families, Americans or online reservations. I emailed them to confirm a family would be welcome in a suite and received a positive reply before booking. However, there was no communication that there would be a $120 per night charge for use of the sofabed. This was not communicated until we checked out. In addition, most reservations come with breakfast included, but not ours. They tried to charge us at check out for breakfast we did not eat for an exorbitant amount. There was a very nice check-in person, but overall the staff was not warm and did not acknowledge our presence generally. I cannot recommend at the price point for families at all. I felt taken advantage of for being an American and having a family. I will again just note that I emailed with the hotel at booking and a few weeks prior to arrival to again confirm a family was welcome and was assured we were. The actual experience was not welcoming.
